Sandpaw sat in the clearing. The camp seemed to be teeming at this point in the day. The sun was right over head. Sandpaw stood and looked for Otterfur, her dark colored mentor. She was tired of sitting around and doing nothing. The past couple of days had been filled with only some hunting trips and one or two train fightings. She lashed her tail around impatiently as her eyes scanned the camp. She didn't see him. She hoped he wasn't on a border or hunting patrol without her.
She sat back down and gave up on looking for Otterfur. Now she looked for someone to talk to. It seemed like everyone that she liked to hang out with were currently busy. Probably with their mentors, she thought to herself sourly. She knew it wasn't right to be worked up about not doing anything with Otterfur. She calmed herself and let the irritation wash away from her. When she opened her eyes she cocked her head around, trying to see where Kestrelstorm was at. It seemed like he was absent too. She huffed a bit then decided that she wouldn't let Kestrelstorm ruin her day.

Yawning, Badgerpaw unfurled himself from the hefty black and white lump he had previously been. Most apprentices, Badgerpaw presumed, were up and about by this time; the curious apprentice had obliged himself to sneaking a few extra moments of sleep though. His nest, somehow, had managed to become a very close friend of his.
Badgerpaw's nose wrinkled slightly as his ears swiveled back and forth, picking out anything in which he could jump into. Unsure of why the campus seemed so deserted and abandoned, the large black tom couldn't help but have the thought of sneak attacking one of his own clanmates. It would be a great deal of fun, and then perhaps he and the sand-furred she-cat would carry on something else to the training hollow. Grining spiteful of himself, he positioned his paws to be light- though it was particularly hard to adjust so quickly after a good time's rest. The ground beneath him seemed all too dry as he pushed himself forward, shoulders somewhat tense in the pressure of not being caught by the sometimes snappy she-cat.
Eyes glowing, Badgerpaw heaved himself upward, catching a glimpse of Sandpaw's face directly before he landed himself sharply over her back. The great tom had bowled her over, with playful attitude of course, and his paws were scrambling over her until he had entirely pinned the slender she-cat to the ground.
"Gotcha!" he pronounced, tail flicking idly. "Better watch out next time, Sandpaw, unless you wanna be pummeled unexpectantly by your enemy!" Badgerpaw's voice was light and flouncy, circulating the poor pinned-down cat with something of irritation. Soon though, one would adjust to the apprentice's everlasting vile of energy.

Sandpaw let out a furious hiss as she was thrown to the ground by the enormous tom. She barred her teeth as she inspected her attacker. Badgerpaw. She let out a vile hiss then battered his stomach, squirming to get out of his grip. Nothing prevailed, he was just so much bigger than her little dainty self. "Gotcha! Better watch out next time, Sandpaw, unless you wanna be pummeled expectantly by your enemy!" Sandpaw glared at him through angered eyes, she had stopped squirming by now. Perhaps he would let her go is she just stopped fighting?
"You stupid fur-ball! Get. Off. Of. Me!" She hissed venomously at him. Just because she had stopped fighting with her body didn't mean her words wouldn't be any friendlier. She continued to glare at him, hoping that he would remove himself from her before he utterly crushed her. "Just please get off!" She snarled at him. She hated it when people took her by surprise.
Then she panicked. What if Kestrelstorm saw her like this? What if he walked into camp to find Sandpaw being pinned down by a fellow apprentice? What if he came over then and decided to help her out? She would be mortified! "Okay Badgerpaw! Okay! I get it! Please get off! Please! C'mon! Please!" Sandpaw sounded more desperate now, her voice was panicked and her eyes were wide with fear.

Well, his poor attempts were something of consideration, but of very little importance apparently. All Badgerpaw was attempting to do was find himself in a nice conversation with the all-so snappy she-cat, Sandpaw, and then perhaps do a little play fighting with her. None of the other apprentices seemed to be about, and his own brother, Spiderpaw, was sure to be off somewhere hunting and in complete turmoil over how rude a particular FogClanner was to him. Not to be pouty, but Badgerpaw was utterly disappointed and decided to show it.
"Sandpaw, come on... it's so boring around here, and it's not like Gingerstar has any spare time at the moment to train with me. And what about you? I just thought we'd have some fun around here, seeing to you looked entirely subdued with finding something to do." Badger whined, nose crinkling and tail swaying from side to side. "I mean, what's to worry about?" he questioned again, suddenly realizing he hadn't gotten off the frail she-cat. Swiftly he heaved his entire body off of her, clumsily bantering off to the side so she could clean her self off a bit.

Sandpaw gave him another nasty glare before he spoke again, "Sandpaw, come on... it's so boring around here, and it's not like Gingerstar has any spare time at the moment to train with me. And what about you? I just thought we'd have some fun around here, seeing to you looked entirely subdued with finding something to do." She averted her eyes from his and let out a small "hmph". "I mean, what's to worry about?" Oh maybe the fact that Kestrelstorm will be here any minute and if we are fooling around it will make me look bad and he'll think I'm just a kit! She sneered at him in her head, but remained silent.
It seemed like he had forgotten that he was crushing her, because he finally "noticed" and jumped off of her. She appreciated that he gave her room to clean herself up. She swiped her tongue over the ruffled patches of fur then looked up at Badgerpaw. "Thank you for removing yourself from me. You nearly crushed me, you know. And I don't think it's a good idea that we don't do any duties to help the clan. A warrior will come along and scold us then we'll get tick duty for a week. Jaggedclaw and No-ears would sure appreciate it but it's not a pile of mice on the other side. I don't know about you but the last time I had tick duty for a week the stench wouldn't go away for a month." She meowed friendlily to him. She sat in front of the tom, tail over her paws, seeing what he could come up with to that.

Dumbfounded, Badgerpaw finally settled to his paws. He allowed his tail to rest comfortably around his forelegs, curling upwards just slightly at its furry black tip. Once more, the hefty tom had been rejected curtly with scold sounding; any humiliation caused by her daft response, he had no intention of revealing. In fact, the apprentice found it only appropriate to continue onwards with his round of pestering. Certainly Sandpaw would not appreciate it (or even the thought of being humiliated so), but Badgerpaw's own response would be something near mere delight.
"You're welcome, Sandkit; while your at it, why don't you go practice your defensive skills?" the tom teased merrily, a delightful twinge carrying his voice somewhat lighter. Upon Sandpaw's small lecture, Badgerpaw murmured in response, "Oh. Tick duty? That's not something I'd like to do either... but maybe we could go train together in the hollow? Oh, I really wish Gingerstar wasn't so busy so she could come train with me. That's the only thing I really dislike about having her as a mentor; I mean, she's great and all, but there's hardly any time for good, serious, lengthy training! Don't you agree? Well, actually. You're mentor, I'm sure that they're not so busy as Gingerstar is, right?" His voice quickened to a rushed ramble (which is never all too unusual for Badgerpaw to trail off the subject.)
"Anyways." Badgerpaw threatened to continue. "So what do you say? Me. You. Training Hollow sometimes? I know you're just trying to impress the senior warriors or something of the sorts: someone like Gingerstar or even Kestrelstorm." Though he knew nothing of Sandpaw's irrelevant crush on the warrior, it had occurred to him that she was rushing Badgerpaw to either leave or act like a normal tomcat. Of course, the thought he found, was quite true and took the blow without irritation or even the slightest of offense. Obviously, Sandpaw was trying to make some sort of impression; upon who, Badgerpaw intended to dig for.

Sandpaw glared at Badgerpaw as he called her Sandkit. What was up with him, egging her on like that? I mean, she couldn't just get some peace while she waited for Kestrelstorm to return from wherever her had gone off to. "Oh. Your mentor, I'm sure that they're not so busy as Gingerstar is, right?" Sandpaw watched as the subject flitted away from Badgerpaw, like it always seemed to do.
"Well, my mentor isn't a leader like Gingerstar...but he never seems to be around. He is always gone, off doing his own thing. I mean, I'm a fine hunter I suppose, but I never learn anything new. Ya'know? It's aggravating. It seems like Otterfur could care less about me, he's already a warrior so he isn't worried about me never getting to be one."
Sandpaw shuffled uncomfortably as Badgerpaw pried her for information on who she was trying to impress. She knew that if she didn't agree to go train fight with him then he would get to the bottom of the matter. "Alright. Fine. Let's go." She knew she would probably loose and would never hear the end of it from him but anything was better than someone knowing her secret. What if Badgerpaw found out then he told someone and words started spreading around the clan? What if Kestrelstorm ended up finding out? She stood quickly and padded to the front entrance, watching as Oakwhisker and Firefang, she had never liked that tom, disappeared into the forest. Oakwhisker had been staring at her and Badgerpaw earlier. She wondered why, though was in no mood to confront him while he was around Firefang. Sandpaw didn't wait for Badgerpaw as she disappeared into the forest then sprinted to the Training Hollow. When she reached it she could tell that Badgerpaw was farther behind. She licked her coat, cleaning herself up, and sat with her tail over her paws daintily, waiting for him [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Otterfur, huh?" Badgerpaw inquired softly. The tip of his tail raised inevitably. "He seems like a good warrior; haven't really... well, talked with him much but from what I've heard.." he trailed, pursing his lips into a questioning manner as if he wasn't quite sure what he had heard. "Anyways," said Badgerpaw, "I'd rather have the leader of PineClan to mentor me, even if she doesn't have a lot of time on her paws. Wouldn't you? I mean, then, you can really understand. Gingerstar I'm sure doesn't have all the time in the world; she's got things to do and a clan to run for goodness sake!" The black and white tomcat's voice was rather trill as he began too ramble, suddenly losing the impression that Sandpaw seemed nervous. If he ever got around to thinking about it, he would've supposed that perhaps talking really took things off his mind. Of course, it often took others' minds on a vacation as well.
Badgerpaw grinned, whiskers splaying as his lips spread into a wide arc. "You got it, Sandpaw! Let's go!" He bantered after her, his broad paws clammering the ground mercilessly. The apprentice was overjoyed to finally have some time in the training hollow, and each time Badgerpaw posed a saying, he could barely filter it through his wide-stretched lips.
"So... what do you want to do, Sandpaw?"

Sandpaw looked up from her pet cleaning when Badgerpaw arrived to the Training Hollow. "So... What do you want to do, Sandpaw?" Sandpaw raised an eyebrow at him then meowed, "We're at the Training Hollow aren't we? What else could you do at a Training Hollow? Don't answer that." She shot a glare at him then continued, "Let's go. How about I attack you? Seeing as I'm smaller?" Sandpaw readied herself, not waiting for him. She was a blur of sand-colored fur and sheathed claws as she ran at him. She was quite timid about fighting, knwing it wasn't her strength. She was fast though and this came in handy when you were on the attacking side. She leapt in the air, throwing herself towards Badgerpaw. She landed right on target (she thanked her hunting skills): his back. She kept her paws sheathed though, so naturally she would be easier to shake off. She sucked in a breath as she readied herself for his struggle.[/blockquote]
