"You wanna join us? Y'know... like Russetfang said, more the merrier."
Gingernose's face lit up. "S-sure! I'll join you!" She practically stuttered her response. Sure, she loved to talk and socialize with her clanmates, but usually SHE was the one inviting them places or asking to be included. This sudden offer came as a surprise to her. Tail quivering with excitement, Gingernose bounded over to the young apprentice and briefly touched her nose to his ear.
Not knowing how Blackpaw would respond to that, she recoiled and hopped towards Russetfang to do the same -- making it seem normal. "Thanks, guys!" she purred, her pale green eyes squinting in affection, "Let's go." She toddled after Russetfang towards the hollow, keeping close on his heels but having enough respect to let the crippled tom keep the lead. Once they arrived, Gingernose sprinted into the middle of the clearing, feeling like a young apprentice again -- and she liked it.
"Okay, Blackpaw! What should we teach him first?"

He watched Russetfang march off, before getting distracted by Gingernose pressing her nose to his ear. Blackpaw shivered drawing back from the older cat slightly and watched as she padded off to do the same with Russetfang. He didn't move after the two, thoughts drifting for a moment.
Why was he being so nice to her now? The dominant question on his mind kept playing over and over. The she-cat had interupted his and Russetfang's hunting session, by all means Blackpaw should be furious! But the apprentice just couldn't bring himself to foil Gingernose as he had planned to earlier.
Finally he moved, trailing behind the warriors and feeling just a little left out -- probably the age difference. He got to the hollow just in time to hear Gingernose voice her question, to which he responded with a shrug and a short: "I dunno."
His ears twitched. "What do you wanna start with, Russetfang?" |

...Russetfang really didn't know. Should he start out with warm-ups? Stretch his body? Do a little dance of some sort to get his blood pumping? Or just go head on with this training? Or should they discuss it first? Yes, better to discuss and be on the safe side then hurt yourself.
"What stance do you think would be best for me and my... tail? Something-- a position-- that won't pull anything and make my situation worse. Any ideas?"
