Stormclaw breathed deeply. It was a beautiful day for hunting, especially together, The only sound was the soft padding of the cats' paws on the soft turf. Stormclaw spotted a thrush a few foxlengths off pecking for worms. He began to creep up on it, stalking it with prescision.

Tigertail's rear twitched in anticipation, watching his friend stalk the thrush with practiced ease. Oh how he wanted to just pounce on the unsuspected bird himself! He could easily get in from here, he was in the perfect position to do so. But Stormclaw had called it first (not literally, but the precision of his hunting kinda spoke to Tigertail) and Tigertail wouldn't allow himself to ruin his friend's catch.
But it was oh so tempting.
His mouth broke into a chesire grin as he struggled to keep still, ears pricked forward as he watched the spectacle with his usual amused stance. His mouth started moving-- though no sound came out-- in a chant, repeating Stormclaw's name as he rooted for the gray tom.

Though unaware of his friend's support, he felt slightly more confident than usual as he crept up. His near-silent pounce alerted the throush only as he was a second away from its throat. The slow bird tried ot take flight in the short time left to it, but was dispatched by a swift bute to the throat. Stormclaw picked up the piece of fresh-kill and nodded at the tabby tom. "Thanks for not springing" He said, his voice muffled by feathers.

Pleased at his friend's catch, Tigertail let out a short 'whoop!' of congratulations, leaping out of the small cover he had found and heading toward Stormclaw with a glimmer in his eyes. "Notta problem," he said cheerfully, chuckling at the sound of Stormclaw's voice plus feathers.
His paws kneaded at the ground and his ears swivled to catch a sound. "My turn," he whispered, scenting and hearing a field mouse not too far away. His paws crept along silently and swiftly, body close to the ground as he approached the foolish creature. The mouse was dead and caught before one could say "Mousedung. "Huntin's good ta'day,".

Stromclaw blinked, agreeing with the sly tabby. "Quite" He replied, now burying the thrush in a patch of soft ground. Tigertail's strange habit of cutting off words was almost opposite to his refined speech, yet it somehow comforted him. He sniffed the air, in hope of detecting more feathered or furred prey. But a strange scent suddenly caught his attention. He finished burying his thrush and looked around concenedly. "Oh my, what in StarClan could that be?" The gray tom's fur was bristling.

He nodded, head bobbing slightly as he bent to bury his prey close to Stormclaw's, kicking dirt over the dead mouse and making sure no scavenging predators would get it before they could take it back to camp. That would be bad. His head lifted suddenly at his friend's voice, he in turn sniffing the air.
"You're right," he said, his voice collected instead of sly like normal. "Somethin's there." But what? Tigertail sniffed harder, his twitching tail the only thing giving off the slightest bit of nervousness.

Another draft of the scent wafted towards the russian blue and this time he was able to identify it. "Badger!" He cried, his mint green eyes bright with fear. He could now hear snuffling noises in the scant brush behind them. He managed to shake off his fear and organize himself and Tigertail to attack. "I'll attack it in the front, Tigertail!" As the noises grew closer, he prepared to fight

His eyes narrowed as he finally recognized the scent, just as Stormclaw took charge and gave out commands. Tigertail wasn't too worried about the fight, though. Sure one badger could easily kill two cats. But Stormclaw was named for nothing, was he! And he himself was a large tom, they should be able to handle it.
'Specially if it was gonna threaten his clan.
Silently he hoped a patrol would come by any second, but he didn't dwell on the prayer, launching himself into the air the moment the large black and white animal came into sight, claws latching into the backside of the creature.

Stormclaw raked the badger's muzzle then leapt aside as it tried to swat him with its massive paw. He mostly evaded it but the badger's claw nicked his side, making him wince slightly. However, he was already ducking around the badger's reach and nip swiftly in to claw its side. The great beast roared in pain and almost shook Tigertail off its back. Stromclaw's mind was calm but racing. He'd only wounded it twice, though Tigertail also must have done some damage on the badger's back. He calculated that they needed to damage the badger about four more times for it to be sufficiently beaten. He jumped up quickly, and lashed out to strike, praying he was still out of the badger's reach.

From his spot on the badger's back, Tigertail watched as the large beast took a swipe at his friend, successfully hitting Stormclaw. His own claws dug deeper into thick fur, a low hiss rising from his chest that turned into a full out growl. Tigertail quickly leaped off the badger, skidding in some dust and leaves before howling loudly (hopefully that would get some help) and launching back at the badger, this time aiming for its side.
A few scratches decorated his flank (when had the badger done that?) but he ignored the stinging sensation and struck out a paw to slash along side the badger's underbelly.
