As Tigertail was slashing the badger's underbelly, Stormclaw came down just managing to cling to its side, his claws digging in deeply. The black-and-white behemoth crashed down, bellowing in agony. Stormclaw watched in horror as his friend's leg was almost crushed by the huge animal. Resisting the temptation to rush to his friend's aid, he made quick work of slashing the badger's eyes and raking its spine in quick succesion. The huge animal shook Stormclaw off, sending him tumbling not-so-gracefully into the dust and lumbered off as fast as it could go towards the StreamClan border. The gray tom grimaced, but refelcted that at least he hadn't had to kill the badger and with hopefully wasn't too badly hurt. "Distraughting indeed" He moaned, hoping like his friend that a patrol would come soon.

He gave a few brave hisses and swipes at the badger but still managed to squeal like a kit when it almost crushed his leg. He got out of the way in time, but managed to twist his paw on an upturned root in the process. How silly was that! Escaping a fierce badger to be felled by a root. Madness.
"Dat's 'da truths," he muttered, accent thick and weary from the battle. "We's should head back now, gotta get the sweet meddie to look us over." He gave a wicked grin to the blue tom before putting weight on his paw and hissing in pain. "Mousebrains, 'dis paw 'urts like it's no'ne's business!" Maybe a trip to Icetail was a pretty good idea.

Stomrclaw nodded wearily in reply, his own wounds paining him like maggots digging into crowfood, and no sounds of a helpful patrol nearby. Quite distraughting, indeed! But at leats they had prey to carry back, and they had done their Clan a great service. This thought lightened Stormclaw's mood slightly as he began to trudge back to camp, the sly tabby tom at his side.

"Bit o' fun, though," Tigertail added thoughtfully, unconvering the mouse he had caught earlier with a grin. They'd have a wonderful story to share back at camp after getting treated. Two warriors driving off a badger! By themselves! While maybe not unheard of, Tigertail had a feeling not many had done it before.
"Wai'." He said suddenly, turning to look toward the StreamClan border. "Shoul'n't we... go tell 'em or sumthin'? The StreamClanners?"

Stormclaw nodded. Though he was tired, his honor would not let him withold potentially important information from another Clan. "Indeed we should, Tigertail, thank you for reminding me." The gray tom heaved himself up and began to pad slowly towards the southern border of MeadowClan, hoping no other warriors would be injured by the fearsome badger.

He nodded and covered the mouse partly before uncovering it again and holding it in his mouth as he followed the gray tom. You never know, they may need to come in peace or something and a mouse would make a decent token... or something.
Despite his injuries, Tigertail held his tail high, the tip twitching ever so slightly as he followed a few tail lengths behind Stormclaw, letting the smaller cat lead the way to the StreamClan border. Hopefully they'd meet a patrol near the edge of the border, he didn't feel like straying too far into StreamClan territory.

The russian blue cat was thinking along the same lines as his friend. Sure, they needed to warn StreamClan, but they WERE exhausted. He sat down right on the border. No need to go further than they had to. Stormclaw, squinted into the distance, hoping to make out StreamClan cats. He saw a gray-and-white cat coming towards him wit han all-gray one further behind. He wondered who they were, and pointed them out to Tigertail.

Once they were deeper into their territory, the StreamClan border almost out of site, Tigertail allowed himself to sigh, his ears pressing against his head as he limped toward camp. "That'un grey n' white 'un was a snappy lass, ain't she?" He grumbled, hoping that Icetail would be ready to treat them the moment they got back. His leg was really starting to sting.
At least they warned StreamClan though. Now he wouldn't feel bad if some cat was injured, or worse, by the badger. [/size]

"Indeed. But perhaps she's had a hard life." Stromclaw yawned. He wasn't worried so much about StreamClan as getting back to camp before he collapsed. Hopefully Cedarstar wouldn't want a report TOO soon. He rememberes in his haze of pain and dazedness that his thrush was still there. Sniffing it out gratefully, he sent a prayer of thanks to StarClan and began to eat.

"Mmm," Tigertail agreed. It didn't really matter though, he needed to stop dwelling on it and focus about what they would tell their leader. Obviously Stormclaw was worse off than he was, the gray tom should probably go to Icetail while he reported to Cedarstar.
Respectfully, Tigertail sat back as Stormclaw ate his thrush. He himself wasn't hungry and would save the mouse he caught for the pile, but Stormclaw looked like he could use the energy.
