He feels PineClan will better from their disbelief in StarClan; they will have less to hold them back. Often Darkheart can be found mocking the other clans for what they believe in, his taunts mostly aimed at FogClan.

Appearance | Darkheart is a large, black tom. His fur is short and silky and grows only slightly longer during the colder seasons. In the light, parts of his fur can look more dark brown than black. Scattered across his chest are many strands of white fur. A small dab of brown covers his chin.
Darkheart stands above most other cats. He’s just big; his body is covered in muscle. His back legs especially are strong which allows him to make powerful jumps and leaps. His tail is also large, often curled around his front paws to keep it out of his way. Darkheart’s muzzle and left flank are covered in many noticeable scars from an accident when he was younger. His eyes are a sharp yellow.
Personality | Darkheart is a relatively calm cat. He’s got a good check on his temper and knows how to keep himself level headed, which aids him in making quick decisions and choosing the right path during tough times. He hardly ever regrets his choices in life, Darkheart is sure he made the right ones. Of course he has his little nagging doubts about small things—but the big picture is what’s important.
Darkheart has a habit of sticking only to things that are important to him. Anything that’s not? Well, he can easily forget about it and let it go. When he lived with his parents outside of the clan he used to think family was the only important thing to him. But after watching his father so quickly abandon his brother and never getting close to his mother, Darkheart’s realized it was only his brothers worth sticking with, and at times he even wonders if Ace deserved the loyalty he gave him, after all he did leave without saying a word. But with the introduction of the clans to his life, Darkheart has found something once again to stick too.
While he is quick to get annoyed, Darkheart can be a very friendly tom to be around. He enjoys spending time with the older warriors and listening to their stories, especially those who were once apart of ForestClan. No-ears in particular brings great interest to him. The old tom has gained a high level of respect in Darkheart’s eyes.
Even if he’s only been in PineClan a short while, Darkheart has already made it clear his loyalties lie strictly within his clan. The tom often talks about expanding their territory, as they are obviously the strongest clan. Nothing would stop Darkheart from expanding PineClan territory if the time ever came when they needed more. His ambition gets the best of him sometime and despite his coolheaded nature Darkheart can’t help but act on his need for power. He is in no way afraid of fighting for what he believes is his—or his clan’s.
But with age comes power; Darkheart knows this. He knows he’s much too young to be really trusted with any higher position of power than “warrior”. Being a new addition to the clan doesn’t help either. For the time being he’s happy with that title though. Earning the respect and trust of his clan mates is not going to be the easiest task, it will take time; Darkheart’s patient enough to wait for that time.
Skills | Darkheart is a fighter. He was trained by his father in battle technique and prides himself in being an extremely skilled fighter. But he’s patient, which allows him to be a skilled hunter as well. He’s also very calm and rational, which allows for quick thoughts in the middle of a stressful situation.
History | Darkheart was born on a stormy day, his parents named him Thunder for the noise that disrupted the night. His brother was named Sky, after the eerily dark sky during the middle of the day. The two took after their father, Jet.
The early part of Thunder’s life was spent with his parents, learning the basics of living a life as a rogue. When he got older, his father began taking him and his brother farther away from where the family lived, teaching them more things about life and how to defend themselves.
Upon returning from one of their journeys, Thunder was surprised to find his mother had given birth while they were gone. He didn’t understand how making kits worked of course. For the earlier part of the young kit’s life, Thunder resented him. The kit, Ace, took up so much of his mother’s time. He didn’t like that one bit. But at least his father still spent time with him, it seemed Jet already knew Ace would never grow to be large.
Once Ace was old enough and his mother didn’t require their protection, Thunder was again taken on a journey. This one would be their last big one, his father said. They were expected to split apart from the family soon and forge their own path in the world.
The rain was pouring down hard, denting the dirt with heavy drops. Three pairs of yellow eyes stared out from a fallen tree, waiting for the rain to stop and the storm to calm down. A bolt of lightning struck down, hitting the tree with deadly accuracy and causing the fallen tree to burst into flames. The three toms fled from the burning trunk, but a branch snapped off, hitting the smallest one in the face.
Thunder stared at his brother for a moment, unsure of what to do before he jumped into action, pushing the branch off his brother and helping the tom to his feet. One of Sky’s eyes was closed tight, the fur above it singed off and a nasty-looking burn starting to form. With Sky leaning on his shoulder, Thunder padded off, determined to get his brother out of there and somewhere safe.
The three returned to Rain and Ace after that, never venturing far for their training sessions. Shortly after the whole family began traveling together, one day ending up on the FogClan border. Thunder, Sky, and Jet attempted to fight the patrol that stopped them, but the trained warriors were too much for the rogues. The three, along with Rain, left the border without noticing that Ace didn’t follow them.
A few days later Sky couldn’t take it anymore—he wanted Ace back. The tom left at night, Thunder waking up shortly after he left and following him. He met up with Sky close to the PineClan border and the two (mostly Sky) decided to find the cats that they fought earlier and demand to know where their brother was.
They found PineClan instead, walking into the territory and instead of being attacked they were taken into the camp. Cats there described what life as a clan cat was like and Thunder couldn’t help but like the idea. In their attempts to bring Ace back home, Thunder and Sky instead found a new place to call home. The next day Thunder agreed to join and was renamed as Darkheart, his brother joining when he did.
