Beliefs | Badgernose has strong belief in StarClan. So strong, in fact, that she can't stand to be around a cat who doesn't agree with her beliefs. She had always wondered why there were stars in the sky, and also what happens after death. Now that she's become a medicine cat and has seen her answer, she's sticking to it.

Appearance |
Badgernose is an average-sized she-cat. It's just her black fur that makes her seem chubby (though she is, due to lack of much exercise). It's thick and always seems to go everywhere and get in her way no matter how much Badgernose grooms it, which irritates her to no end. However, she is thankful for it during the chilly leaf-bare; it keeps her somewhat warm and cozy. Leafgreen is a killer for her though. It also has a nice shine to it due to StreamClan's diet.

All the way from her muzzle to her belly stretches a thick stripe of white fur. She also has a long tail with a white tip on the end. It is great for balance, but Badgernose prefers to stay on the ground rather than in trees. She has long white whiskers, a black nose and pads, and short, pointy claws. Her ears are right on the edge of humongous. They angle forward slightly and give her good hearing. Her eyes are a ghostly white-green color.

Personality |
Badgernose is a curious cat, in both senses. She loves to explore new things, and is constantly on the lookout for new herbs to use on her patients. Most of the time they don't work, but that doesn't discourage Badgernose. She is curious in the other sense by her behavior, which most cats find to be odd. Badgernose is the kind of cat that's always so enthusiastic and perky that she gets annoying pretty fast. She smiles at every cat she passes, and isn't afraid to strike up a conversation with a random passerby.

She also loves to find out every little thing about everything and everyone, and won't sleep properly until she does. Badgernose has always been a truthful cat, and never tells a lie if she can help it. This leads her to being a bad secret-keeper, so most cats try not to say anything too personal in fear of Badgernose spreading it around to the whole Clan. She also has this "I'm-right-you're-wrong" attitude, and always wants everyone to agree with her.

Badgernose is a pacifist, and hates to see fighting between the Clans. Why can't they all just get along? It breaks her heart to see the Clans like that, so she's usually the one that pleads with everybody to stop the war. It can sometimes be an embarrassing blow to StreamClan's honor, but Badgernose doesn't care.

Because her faith in StarClan is so strong, Badgernose sometimes relies on them to sort out her problems instead of getting off her rump and fixing it herself. She loves to interact with her Clanmates every chance she gets, and often asks them to go with her to collect herbs. She hates to be alone.

Badgernose tries her very best to stick to the warrior code, but then again, everyone makes mistakes. Badgernose just makes them more often. She accidentally crosses the boundaries between the Clans frequently because her mind hasn't wrapped itself around the fact that cats can't go and come between lands as they please, like in her past.

Overall, Badgernose is a quirky cat that highly benefits her Clan, even when she slips up.

When Badgernose was growing up with her parents, she was an excellent hunter. She could bring back more mice than there were stars in the sky. Of course, that's an exaggeration. Now she has become a talented medicine cat, and she uses her hunting and tracking abilities instead to "hunt" for herbs. She was never trained in fighting, so she is pretty much useless in that area. Her large ears give her good hearing.

History |
Badgernose, then named Blackie, was born in a litter of two: herself and her brother Remy. Her parents were Smoke and Raven, and they lived as loners. The small family lived in a barn near Twolegplace, though they didn't interact much with the Twolegs. They were fearful of being caught and taken to the cat-shelter. Blackie was the only one of her kin to be intrigued by the strange creatures and the odd behaviors they had.

One day in Leafgreen, when she was about eight moons old, she was hunting near Twolegplace. She was focused on a small mouse about a fox-length ahead of her. She didn't even hear the cat-catching Twoleg sneaking up on her, until it was almost too late. Thankfully, due to a heroic rescue by her father, she was safe again. After that she lost all trust she ever had in them, and doesn't go in sight of Twolegplace if she can help it.

Moons later the starving group of cats came to the forest looking for members to make a Clan. Badgernose eagerly agreed. The rest of her family stayed behind, preferring the life of loners rather than living in a huge society of cats. Smoke was unwilling to let Blackie go with them, and told her she couldn't go. It got to the point where he was pleading desperately with her to stay. Raven argued with him for awhile, and eventually convinced him to let his daughter go.

Blackie was heartbroken for after that. She never intended to just up and leave like that, but something told her that she needed to go meet all these new cats. When she actually started to meet the new cats she was going to live with, Blackie instantly forgot her troubles. She cheered up to the point that she made a few enemies because she was just that annoying. She didn't mind, though. They could just be grumpyheads if they wanted to.

Then some cats told Blackie about StarClan. She was fascinated by it, and wanted to somehow get closer to them, and that was how she found out about the role of medicine cat. Instantly, Blackie knew that's what she was destined for. She was placed in StreamClan, and soon she was renamed Badgernose, medicine cat of StreamClan.
