Beliefs|
Tawnywhisker has a very strong belief in StarClan. She believes that StarClan controls everything that happens in the forest. There is a grand plan, she says, and StarClan controls each cat's journey as they progress toward the completion of that grand plan. What the plan is she doesn't know, but she firmly believes that each cat has a greater purpose than catching prey and going on patrols. She also believes that you've got to earn your way into StarClan by following the Warrior Code, or at least her interpretation of it. Each time you break the Code diminishes your chance of getting to StarClan. This, she believes, holds true for both believers and non-believers.
As for PineClan, she does not bother trying to convert them to belief. If they are stupid enough to not believe, let them. Tawnywhisker will, however, attack any nonbeliever who dares to set paw on the holy ground of her Clan. She believes that her territory has been sanctified by StarClan themselves, and that it is the sacred duty of clanmembers to defend their holy grounds with their very lives.

Appearance |
Tawnywhisker has an unusual build for a member of her clan. While the others tend to be on the more muscular side of large, she is very lanky. She would be more suited for life on the moors with her body. Her legs are long, with well-toned, yet sinewy muscle. She has a longer body that is well-suited for running long distances without getting tired. After living with FogClan for some moons, she has developed more muscular hind legs, as is common with members if her clan. Her shoulders are narrow, as are her haunches, giving her an overall lithe appearance.
Tawnywhisker's pelt is just that: tawny. Several ginger and black patches run down the length of her body; sometimes a white patch appears amongst the mottled coloring. She has a white bib that starts at her nose and extends down her chest and belly until it stops in some place behind her haunches. In fact, she might even be mistaken for having tortoiseshell coloring if it was not for the tabby marking on her forehead and the dark brown tabby stripes that streak her cheeks. Her nose is a deep maroon color; it does not stand out much against her fur. Tawnywhisker's eyes are nearly the color of dijon mustard with the tiniest hint of bright green around the pupil. There is a thick, dark rim that surrounds her eyes where the fur has stopped growing.
Personality |
Tawnywhisker is a she-cat of few words. This is not because she is shy or antisocial, but because most of the time cats say what she was going to before she gets the chance to say it. She loves it when she gets the rare chance to shine in her StarClan-given glory, but those opportunities are few and far between. In any case, she often prefers the peace of her own thoughts to the company of many of her clanmates; she is very selective about who she will spend her time with. If she is to keep her record clean and get to StarClan, she cannot hang around with the weak of faith.
Most cats won't know when she's upset because she remains very calm under pressure. Some cats might even think she's disloyal for this, for she does not show her reactions to upsetting things very often so that others can see them. In fact, she bottles up the majority of her emotions so that they are released in sudden, violent bursts. Because of her soft-spoken nature, this can come as a shock to those around her.
Tawnywhisker is eager to trust those around her, especially cats she looks up to. She figures that she needs some way to stay on the good sides of everybody, and she sees no better way to do this (excluding friendship, of course) than trusting them without question.
She does not like to dwell on the past. She believes that it's harmful behavior, and if you let the past influence your behavior today then you're betraying everyone who's ever been a good influence. Despite her trusting impulses, it's very difficult to take advantage of her. She's headstrong and smart enough to know when she's being taken "down the primrose path," so to speak.
Tawnywhisker is very concerned with the well-being of her clanmates, and even with the well-being of cats who are not in her own clan. She's a good cat to come to if you need a bit of comforting- or reassurance in the divinity of the warrior ancestors and their purpose for all.
Ah, but you had better pray that you not anger this she-cat. Believing that she is backed by the Justices of StarClan, she will set out to avenge whatever it is that was done to her. The vengeance of this warrior is swift and passionate; she will do whatever is necessary to get her point across. Well, she will do everything that she believes that she can. Different rules apply to different groups of cats in her eyes, and she will alter her punishment according to which group you belong. There are some cats that she will do nothing to, even if they wrong her. These cats are lucky.
Skills |
Tawnywhisker's most outstanding skill is tracking, unlike many of her clanmates who are skilled in hunting. Her large ears and sensitive nose lend to her prowess in tracking. Her hunting skill is slightly less than average for her clan.
Like her forms of retribution, Tawnywhisker will alter her fighting styles according to who it is that she is battling. For believers of another, less pure clan, her battles will be swift but intense. She will try to incapacitate them in the quickest, but not necessarily the least painful, way. As for the nonbelievers- wicked infidels!- the full wrath of StarClan will be unleashed. She will show these cats no mercy unless they happen to be young or she has shown them "enough wrath for the time being." Tawnywhisker will not take a life unless absolutely necessary, and never in cold blood. FogClan cats are too good for that, she says.
History |
Tawnywhisker was born to a pair of kittypets in a small cottage in Dover, England. She had a sister named Speck, and she was named Spots. They were a very comfortable little family until their housefolk decided to move to the Unites States. Spots and Speck were just over two moons old when they were put in the kitty carrier and flown across the ocean in a big, shiny monster with wings to a place their housefolk called "New York." From there it was a long drive across the new continent to get to another place called "California."
One night when the housefolk couldn't find any room in a pet-friendly hotel, they were forced to camp out in a strange colorful miniature house. Spots was frightened of it and did not want to go in, despite what her parents said to try and appease her. Eventually they gave up and went into the little fabric house with Speck, who was not afraid of it. Spots was at first frightened of the forest that surrounded her; after all, she was only three moons old. After a while she got bored with waiting for Speck to come outside and play so she left the campsite to explore.
That night there was a horrible thunderstorm, and Spots became so lost that by the time morning came around she had no idea how to find her way back to her family. For the next year or so, she lived by herself and managed to teach herself some warrior skills.
When a large group of miserable looking cats passed through her territory, her first reaction was to defend the place she lived. That impulse was cut short when she saw how the cats looked. They were large, muscular, and even in their horrible state (some of the cats' ribs were showing) they looked like they could tear her pelt off with a single stroke. So her new approach was to try and befriend these cats. She ended up becoming friends with a feisty she-cat "apprentice" named Mistypaw.
She joined the group of travelling clan cats with little hesitation. She'd found a friend, and it was companionship at the very least. Spots stuck to her new friend like a burr, and somehow they managed to survive the journey together. When the cats separated into four different clans, Mistypaw decided to join FogClan. Spots didn't see the difference between the groups, so she joined FogClan with her friend.
Shortly after the two friends pledged their allegiance to FogClan, Mistypaw managed to antagonize a fox into battle and got herself killed. It was a hard blow for Spots- only recently named Tawnywhisker- when the only cat she really knew died in an act of foolish bravery. Not only was she left utterly alone, she just so happened to be in the clan that was rapidly earning a reputation for their violence in temper. She did not want to be with cats who blew up over the tiniest thing, but she'd made a promise to Mistypaw that she would stay in FogClan. She had to honor it.
