Name | Lightwhisker
Gender | She-cat
Age | 34 Moons
Rank | Warrior
Clan | FogClan
Beliefs| Lightwhisker is fascinated with StarClan. While she may not believe in them herself, it’s the notion and the strong belief so many have that intrigues her. In a way she’s like a Theologist, learning about the beliefs of others. What they’re like, what gets worshipped, different rituals, the mindsets of those who believe, and why it is that they believe. When it comes to spirituality, Lightwhisker doesn’t know what to believe. She’s studied so many different types of “religion” in her life and has come into contact with some she finds down right fascinating. But never has she found one that speaks to her enough to make her believe.

Siblings | Only Child
Other Kin | Heather (aunt, not played) and Terry (uncle, not played)
Mate | Not yet

Apprentice/Mentor | Not Yet
Appearance | Lightwhisker is by no means a large cat. She is rather tall for a she-cat, but has almost no bulk or muscle around her elongated limbs. Her paws are small and dainty, and, like her father, they’re pointed inward to give her a bit of a pigeon gait. But she doesn’t mind, being small allows her to be nimble and quick, perfect for hunting.
Lightwhisker is dominantly white. It’s a clean, pure white that covers her entire body. Over the white is a contrasting russet-brown color that marks her face (creating a mask over her eyes), her ears, the back of her head, patches along her spine, most of her tails, and all four paws. A few dots mark her muzzle as well.
Her whiskers are long and white, but don’t droop as they fan out from her thin muzzle. Her nose is a soft pink mark with a bit of black, as are her paw pads. Lightwhisker has small, amber eyes with thin pupils that make it look like she’s always squinting.
Personality | Lightwhisker is a generally agreeable cat. She doesn’t like fighting with others and will hardly raise her voice in anger (though she quite often becomes annoyed). She mostly likes to chat with other cats. Learn about them, become friends with them. Having a bright and happy atmosphere is much more pleasant than one that has cats who want to tear each others throats out.
She has a tendency to be a little clumsy at times. Often she’ll stumble over her own paws or accidently run into another cat. The only time she manages to keep herself steady is when she’s hunting, one of her favorite past times.
She’s also not the brightest star in the sky. Lightwhisker will admit she’s a little dimwitted. She tries very hard to understand what other cats say, especially when they use large words, but has had to ask a cat to repeat things in ‘simpleton speak’ on more than one occasion.
One thing about Lightwhisker is her fascination with “religion” and “spirituality”. While personally she has no beliefs in an afterlife or a “God” of any sort, Lightwhisker loves hearing about how others believe. She sometimes sits for hours and just listen to a cat go on and on about what they believe in and why they believe in it. To her it’s like a whole big puzzle she needs to put together. Only when all the pieces are together will she find her own spirituality. The fascination she has is the main (and perhaps only) reason she joined FogClan. Their extended belief seemed to be the best place to learn about StarClan.
All in all, Lightwhisker is a kind she-cat with a strange fascination in how/what/why other cats believe. She doesn’t like it when cats (especially ones she likes) become tense around her; it makes her feel like she’s done something wrong. And while she’s not the smartest cat, she relies on her friendly nature and sharp memory to get her by.
Skills | Lightwhisker, while not the smartest she-cat there is, has a strangely good memory. In fact, her memory is so sharp she can recall what her first prey she caught on a rainy day in the middle of Leaf-Fall was. It was a vole, of course. Her memory also allows her to keep all sorts of facts stored away, like things she learns from studying different sorts of beliefs.
Her physical skills lie in the area of hunting and tracking. As her name suggests, Lightwhisker is a skilled and practiced tracker. She has no issue following scents during rough weather and has learned how to pick up scents (given a strict time line, of course) even after it has rain or snowed.
History | Lightwhisker once held the name “Avery”. She was born to Max (now a StreamClan elder by the name of Patchfur) and Sally, a deceased loner. She was born into a small group of rogues of loners which included two of her aunts, an uncle, a tom cat by the name of Smokey (her “brother”), twin sisters who she regarded as her own sisters, and an elderly tom who she came to think of as her grandfather.
Avery lived a normal childhood. She was raised by the whole group and never doubted the family ties between them (though she knew full well they weren’t blood related). Like her father, Avery found her niche in the group as a hunter fairly quickly.
When she was seven moons or so Avery began to wonder about what happened to the prey she killed. Where did they go after they died? What happened to what made them live? Curious, Avery directed her questions to Hank, her “grandfather”. The brown tabby began explaining his belief in the life that runs through everything, and when something died, it caused something new to be born.
Fascinated, Avery ran from cat to cat in her group, trying to dig their spirituality out of them. To her dismay only Smokey held another belief (something quite similar to Hank’s, if less organized), the rest of her family were all proclaimed “atheist”. From then on Avery mulled over the thoughts of Hank and Smokey’s belief, trying to tie it in with something she might consider her own. She was still rather young, however, and couldn’t snap connections between anything that really spoke to her.
Sadly, while she was still young, Avery had both her mother and her Aunt taken away from her by sickness. When her father swept her up one night without a word the young she-cat could do nothing but follow the frantic tom, afraid for his well being. She had never seen him like that before.
For moons she traveled with her father. Along the way Avery picked up many different beliefs from the cats they bumped into, though none really spoke to her. Dutifully, the she-cat kept mental notes of all of them, developing quite a keen memory.
Eventually she requested they settle down. Her father was aging and would be too old to travel much soon. Max demanded they keep moving, determined to get farther away from the place they once lived. It was only by some slip of fate (as she sees it) that they found the clans.
StreamClan was the first song they found and Avery spent a day or two with her father there. But when she heard of FogClan and their extreme belief in “StarClan” she felt compelled to move there. She promised her father that she would not be far and they could still meet at Gatherings before leaving. Once she reached FogClan she was renamed Lightwhisker, for her light color pelt and tracking skills.
