Name | Reedfoot
Gender |She-cat
Age | 38 Months
Rank | Warrior
Clan | FogClan
Beliefs| Reedfoot believes, without doubt, in Starclan...And the warrior code. She tends to stick to it like glue and wishes very much that her brother, Otterclaw, would too. She's tried numerous times to try and make him conform, but it seems that they will remain opposites. Further more, she believes that Starclan can be the destiny of only cats that believe; Simply being good is not, well, good enough. Reedfoot believes that you must believe in Starclan and follow the warrior code because your very soul depends on it. Starclan is salvation, it is the undoubtedly known.
Moreover, one's nonbelief affects the whole clan, doubly so when one considers the purity of FogClan, the chosen clan. To not believe is one of the highest sins...which is why it hurts her so much to see her brother falling into the darkness. Her nature will not let her forget him and move on, but her brain is beginning to tell her that he is beyond her help. She has done all she can do, short of punishing him herself. Reedfoot would be happy to do that though, if she thought it would help him...But of course, it wouldn't. It would only push him further down the path to rebellion and sin.
Parents | WillowxRex
Siblings | Otterclaw
Other Kin | N/A
Mate | Not yet and not looking
Crush | Though she hasn't begun to understand her feelings for him yet, Reedfoot has an interest in Rowanheart. She knows she likes him...but it scares her slightly that she may like him as more than a friend.
Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | Not Yet, and her hearts burns because of this as her lax brother has received one before her.
Appearance | Reedfoot is a dark brown that fades to a tan, like a reed, with tabby markings. The stripes that adorn her back are not very clear. Along her back the ends are so close together that they appear to be a dark brown/black saddle-marking. However, as they travel down her sides they become more spaced and defined. Her deep, green eyes are set in a very serious face, that is almost always frowning at Otterclaw. These eyes are quick to spot a misdemeanor, which at first made her a very annoying fellow apprentice...Until she learned to keep her mouth shut. Going back to her eyes, her right one is slightly lighter than her left. This is only noticeable in direct sunlight. They are framed by black bands, which form into two stripes that travel along her muzzle to the tip of her nose.
Reedfoot's quick paws are a nice, bright white as is her muzzle and underbelly. She goes to great measures to keep her coat shining and her white markings...white. Supposedly, she goes to a small, secret stream and actually...bathes in it, using ferns to get tough dirt off. As she is almost always 'squeaky' clean, this rumor might not be too far from the truth.
Though her legs are long, this she-cat is very small. Next to her brother, she probably looks like his apprentice. 'Petite' would accurately describe her form. However, it is thanks to this size and her long legs that she is able to move very quickly.
Personality | As a kit, Reedfoot was very reserved. As she grew older, she kept up this silent routine, except for when it came to Otterclaw. Today still, she is constantly picking at him and bugging him about being too easy-going and lax. Luckily for her, Otterclaw is the kind of cat to put up with that stuff. Though outright insults will send him sulking to his den. Moving towards the now, Reedfoot is a quiet but stern little kitty.
Like her brother, Reedfoot is fiercely loyal to her clan. But while she likes them, she can seem very abrasive. Perhaps because she can be quite snappy when pushed...Unless she's talking to a queen or kit. Then she is on her best behavior and is gushing with friendliness, for they have what she will not allow herself to have.
Reedfoot would love to have kits...However she also loves being a warrior. She knows that she wouldn't have to stay in the nursery forever, but somehow it still seems to be too much of a commitment...or perhaps better terms would be 'way over her head'. Fighting, she understands. Hunting, she understands. StarClan, she may not understand, but knows that they are the light in the darkness, and therefore must be followed. But kits? Motherhood? Those are very different things. She wouldn't know where to begin. And what if one of them turned out to be like Otterclaw? Would she have the strength to still try and raise them right, to lead them from temptation? ...Yes. For her kits, yes. But if they rejected her and her teachings, if they still followed the path of sin...would she have the strength to watch them fall farther into the darkness day by day? No. And there is always the matter of the father. With so many nonbelievers popping up, how can she be sure the father of her kits will be safe for them?
When this she-cat has an opinion, she sticks to it. Even Otterclaw...Or rather especially Otterclaw, cannot change her mind. She is as hard as stone when it comes to decisions...albeit a little one. Which brings me to another point. Reedfoot doesn't like people commenting on her size and even attacked Otterclaw when he tried. However, ideas are another matter. She all to readily lets others squish them. She doesn't exactly jump to defend a plan, especially against senior warriors and higher ranks. Her opinion on the matter would always stay the same, but she would admit defeat as long as the reasons they supplied for why the idea was bad checked out.
Reedfoot thinks before she speaks. Unlike her brother, she does not jump to answer a question as soon as it is posed. She mulls over the possible answers and the best way to phrase them. Part of the reason for this is that while Reedfoot knows that because of her size, she could be easily pinned in a fight. So, she'd rather not be able to be pinned by words as well. This is why her tone can seem tentative at first, as though she is testing the water of a stream before crossing it.
Skills | Reedfoot is very fast and thus very suited for catching running prey. She possesses decent fighting skills, and can outmaneuver many a cat unless they pin her within a few minutes of the battle. If they don't, then she'll wear them out and attempt to take them down that way. There's no way she could be a larger cat in a contest of strength and power.
Her mind is as quick as her feet. While some of her plans can be a bit hare-brained, many more show intelligence and careful plotting. for example, her solution to Rowanheart's trouble with Frostpaw, was to take her to the Moonglade, thereby bringing her to Starclan, rather than waiting for StarClan to come to her. Granted, the plan did little to affect a cat of Frostpaw's stubborn disposition, but for such a plan it was the thought that counted. If only Otterclaw had made the trip as well. Reedfoot is sure that he would have seen StarClan's grace if he had...But of course, she'd rather deal with that particular problem on the sly, rather than bring it out in the open for she believes Otterclaw's own impurity reflects upon herself...Part of the reason she clings so hard to StarClan. She hopes that by being as holy and pure as possible, she may clean Otterclaw's stain from her reputation and perhaps, if she is faithful enough, some of her own purity might reflect upon her brother.
History | Reedfoot, as she is Otterclaw's sister, was born a rogue. Diana was a very silent kit compared to her brother. She preferred to stay out of trouble and stand by her mother when Otter got into it, even scolding him herself! As she got older she became his second mother: 'Don't do that! Do it like this! Are you trying to get us caught by no-furs?' The two seemed polar opposites. The Law and The Rebel.
When the journey began, their mother, Willow, got wind of it very quickly...As well as the reason for it. She didn't want to finish raising her kits in an area that would soon be under the control of the evil ForestClan. So, she begged and pleaded for the cats that were leaving to take her kits (Who were 20 months by that time, but you know mothers. Their babies remain their babies). The journey-cats agreed.
Over the course of the journey Diana became very depressed. She really wasn't much use. There were cats that were better hunters than her around, she couldn't make up for it with strength, and she lacked Otter's cheerful disposition...But she kept on going on. Why? StarClan. The clan cats had told her and her brother about the ever-watching ancestors in the sky. Diana was smitten with the belief. She had always thought something was out there and now she had the conviction that there was. Finally, there was something she could work for, an undeniable force of light to push back the darkness of disobedience and sin.
After the journey was over, she worked double-time to prove her worth, going on as many patrols and hunts as her leader would allow. All the while she prayed to StarClan, whenever she had spare time, to try and make up for lost time. And in the end StarClan rewarded her for her belief and hard work with her warrior's ceremony. the icing on the cake was that it happened before Otter's who had, for a ll intents and purposes, faked his way through training, only acting the part of the attentive student.
Once she gained her warrior name, Reedfoot, she felt almost complete. She still worked hard afterward, but she relaxed a little and thought of other things besides work and StarClan. Namely...Kits. But the commitment seemed too great...The problem of her brother's sinful nature remains as well. One matter must be tackled at a time. She must cleanse the sin from her family and create a safe environment if ever she is to bring her own into the world.
Of course, Otterclaw seems to be an increasingly hard nut to crack. Day by day he falls farther into the darkness and the tendrils of sin plunge deeper into his heart. Despite her patient prodding and numerous attempts to lead him along the right path, her brother remains obstinate. but though she considers leaving him behind, Reedfoot refuses to let him go. She won't stand to see him fall beyond hope. And if by any chance, she cannot save him alone, she will turn to others for help.
But ti wasn't just Otterclaw that occupied her thoughts. Mistpelt, soon to be Miststar, informed her of the the true root of FogClan's outbreak of sinners. The core from which all evil stemmed...It wasn't Frostpaw, Rowanheart's astonishingly stubborn apprentice, but someone much greater. someone who had the power to thrust the entirety of FogClan from StarClan's light and into the darkness of sin and wretchedness...Owlstar. She might have panicked, had not Mistpelt told her also of her dream. A dream in which FogClan's savior was proclaimed and that hope for her clan was not lost. From that moment, Reedfoot vowed that she would follow Mistpelt. Follow her to a greater life for FogClan. A greater FogClan. Follow her to a time in which FogClan would become completely and utterly pure again...safe for her to raise kits in.
