Name | Birchtail
Gender | she-cat
Age | 30 moons
Rank | warrior
Clan | Fog
Beliefs| Birchtail deeply believes in StarClan. She thinks of StarClan as the only place cats could possibly go when they die. She doesn't hate PineClan for their disbelief in it though, rather she pities them because their life is probably very messy and haphazard, with no common religion to put faith in. She often prays when she is anxious or has a problem.
She has recently come to the conclusion that StarClan let Slash die for a reason, which was so that she could go to FogClan, become a believer (and have her kits become believers) and convert Beaverstripe to the ways of StarClan. She believes this is why she loves him, and because she loves him she's the only cat who can do it. Beaverstripe does not believe this. Not that she's told him it, but he wouldn't if she did.
Parents | Kuma-kittypet (mother)-NP Blaze-kittypet-(father)-NP
Siblings | Leaf-(brother)-NP Wing-(sister)-NP
Other Kin | Juncopaw-niece-DC (played by me)
Mate | Slash-deceased-NP
Crush | Beaverstripe (played by Hardy)
Kits | Falconpaw (played by me), Cinderpaw (played by Kelly)
Apprentice/Mentor | Foxpaw (played by Pyro)
Appearance | Birchtail has a long, slender, averagely muscled body, with long legs, a rounded, neat head, and an immaculately groomed, long-furred pelt. Her eyes are a deep yellowish amber, with flecks of brown and green. She's a medium-brown tabby with long black stripes and a pink nose. Her tail is medium length, but very flexible and often twitching with a mind of its own. Her toes are unusually long, but she has short, hooked claws, and her ears are slightly shorter than usual. Her long fur is often catching on thorns, and she has tufts of fur on either side of her face. She has some darker brown fur on her tail and her face, and a tannish underbelly.
Personality | Birchtail can be summed up in one word: control freak. For Birchtail, everything has to be just so, or it won't work. If it's out of place, she puts it back in, no questions asked. Her interactions with other cats are generally friendly, but they are occasionally ruined when Birchtail can't resist pointing out a grubby patch of fur they have, or that their pelt is dirty. Anything out of its place makes her feel uncomfortable. She loves Clan life because she likes how it is organized; ceremonies that ensure a cat's place in the Clan, how every cat contributes to keep it a good place to live. Despite her neatness/organized obsessions, she does enjoy hunting, fighting, and serving her Clan. She is deeply loyal to FogClan, and couldn't dream of a better life for her kits.
She loves them dearly, and is hardly stern at all with them, but deeply impresses upon them to believe in StarClan, and that FogClan is the best place there is. She also teaches her kits to be neat, and IS very strict on how they groom their pelts and keep their nests clean. She is no-nonsense, get-in-line-soldier when it comes to cleaning. She's also like that about orderliness, wanting the kits to be free, but always behave themselves in the right way, so nothing goes amiss.
For her, unorderliness=CHAOS. So, she strives to keep things orderly and neat, not only for herself, but also because she thinks it is a good way to help her Clan, though this does not always endear her to her Clanmates. She functions well enough in the Clan to get along with the other cats, but has no close relationships. It's not that she's mean, she can just be difficult to talk to, i.e, always going on about neatness. Besides her cleanliness obsessions, her emotions are pretty mellow-tempered.
She's proud when praised (because she's happy that cats are appreciating her efforts to help them), sulky when ignored( she thinks cats should listen to her more, annoyed when cats won't listen to her organization views, eye-rolling when insulted(she doesn't really retaliate when insulted, she just thinks it's not worth the trouble to respond to such stupidity), and well, just Birchtail.
Skills | Birchtail loves to climb and is fairly good at it. Her fighting skills are fairly good, her favorite move is to jump on an enemy from behind and claw their face or underbelly. She's okay at hunting in general, with little weaknesses and strengths at catching certain kinds of prey. Her tracking skills are very basic, mediocre at best. She hates swimming because it messes up her fur (not that she's good at it anyway).
History | Born simply as Birch to two kittypets in the nearby Twolegplace, Birchtail lived her kithood and beginning of adolescence there. She grew up with her littermates, Leaf and Wing, living a peaceful if uneventful life in Twolegplace. However, when Birch got older, (around 8-9 moons) she began to be more curious about what was beyond her backyard. Her parents cared about her, but did little to stop her when she decided to leave Twolegplace for good.
At roughly ten moons, Birch was a contented rogue, if a slightly unusual one. Slightly disdainful of the unruly life of a regular rogue, she would often stay in a certain area for a moon or so before moving on. Wherever she settled, however, had to have ample bedding supplies(such as heather or moss) to sustain her obsessive nest-cleaning.
Birch's fairly simple life began to change when she was about 16 moons old. She'd seen a tom-rogue from a distance, and was very curious about him, since she'd seen very few rogues in the area where she lived. She eventually ran into him while hunting, and politely asked his name. He said his name was Slash, and politely asked her name in return. Birch told him, but was intrigued by his manners, for the few other rogues she'd met had been rude and surly.
Birch continued to live alone for another moon, but still ran into Slash at least every quarter moon. They grew to be very good friends, and eventually Birch found herself falling in love with the handsome gray tom. The next day. she saw Slash again, and the tom was unusually awkward and nervous. Birch asked him what was the matter and Slash confessed that he had fallen in love with the gray-brown tabby. Birch admitted her own feelings for Slash, and from then on they lived together for the next two moons, traveling slowly, and then not at all when Birch found she was going to have Slash's kits. They settled down on the edge of where FogClan territory currently is.
However, only two moons later tragedy struck. Slash was killed by a badger while defending the pregnant Birch. Birch mourned her mate, and the loss of her organized life. Soon after her kits were born, around the same time when the four Clans came to the area where Birch was living. Though she was wary of them, her kits were too young to travel, so she was forced to stay on the FogClan border. Though as her kits grew up, Birch began to think that perhaps the Clans were a way to start a new life for her and her kits. When Falcon and Cinder were old enough to travel, she went to FogClan to find out how their way of life worked. She was captivated by the organized lives of the Clan, and the way the warrior code worked. She decided to make FogClan her permanent home.
For the next three moons, she busied herself with teaching her kits all about their new way of life. She has now returned to being a warrior and has Foxpaw as her apprentice. Birchtail has also discovered that she has a crush on Beaverstripe.
