Name | Koi
Gender | She-cat
Age | 19 moons
Rank | Kittypet
Clan | None
Beliefs| Koi has no idea what StarClan is and doesn't really care. She isn't philosophical enough to ponder if there is someone watching over her or pray to any "higher power" when she isn't sure about something or in a trying time. So long as she makes it into her house before her twolegs lock the door and there's food in her bowl, she's happy with her life.
Parents | Missy (Mother, NP) x Cretin (Father, NP)
Siblings | Moose (Sister, NP), Pickle (Brother, NP), and Charlotte (Sister, NP)
Other Kin | Trent (Uncle, NP), Dee (Aunt, NP), Jasmine (Cousin, NP), Jackson (Cousin, NP), Jameson (Cousin, NP)
Mate | None
Crush | Not yet
Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | None
Appearance | Koi is a purebred manx cat. She is rather small, but with a round, robust frame. Her head is an almost perfect circle with short, round ears and a somewhat short muzzle. Her hind legs are longer than her front ones and are extremely powerful for leaping. Obviously, for breed standard, she has no tail. It's just a small bump at the end of her spine.
She has a short, somewhat thick coat that doesn't really change for the seasons, since she isn't a real "outside cat". It only thickens and thins slightly between winter and spring. She is mostly white with a small black patch between her shoulders and a rather large splotch on her rump. Koi would be perfect for a show cat if she didn't have this one flaw, she was born without her right eye. Where it should be is just fur with a slight divot where her eye socket is. Her other eye, however, is a dark golden color.
Personality | Koi is very immature for her age. She hasn't seen the usual things that makes the average forest cat her age more mature and able to handle different situations well. It's extremely easy to distract her with a toy or a piece of string, no matter how focused she was trying to be. Despite her kitten-habits, Koi is very alert of her surroundings. Nothing really escapes her senses, but she finds it impossible to focus on one single thing when there are so many other things to see. Koi is rather intelligent and has an excellent memory. She can solve problems quite quickly, so long as nothing else catches her attention.
She is also extremely innocent of the workings of the world. If she finds anything dead in her garden, she tries to revive it, by nudging it or whatever she thinks will help. Death is a rare thing for her to encounter and she was never taught about what happens when something dies. Her mind can't wrap around the fact that it's dead and never coming back. Koi also doesn't understand that the world around her is "kill or be killed", since most of her surrounding include her garden, her house, and the two houses on either side of her own. Had her mother not taught her early on that outside of her home was extremely dangerous and that once she went outside her perimeter, she was never coming back, she probably would have been curious about the outside world and snatched up by the first thing that spotted her.
Skills | Koi doesn't really have any skills to help her survive. She only really has the natural instincts that all cats have to stalk and pounce, but it's rare that she ever catches anything that she's after, except maybe a leaf. She has no idea what she would do with a toad or mouse that she ever caught, but she definitely wouldn't try and eat it, instead she'd probably want to be friends with it. The only skill that she has that may be useful outside of her garden is her ability to swim. Though she would bypass it at all costs, if the need was dire she would jump right in to the water and use her powerful legs to swim. Other than that, the only other skills you may count are her awareness and intelligence.
History | Koi was born in a breeder's home along with her brother, Pickle, and sisters, Moose and Charlotte. Also at the breeder's home was her father's brother and his family. The siblings and their cousins were never really that close with each other, though were hospitable when around each other. One thing that her kin had in common was making snide remarks to Koi about her obvious defect. Rather than become bitter and aggressive towards her cousins and siblings, she instead found other ways to entertain herself in other areas of the house.
Once she was old enough, she was adopted out to a new family, since her breeders didn't want to keep because she was unable to be shown. The moment she entered the new life, she was happy. There was always food for her and toys to play with, and there was even a giant garden full of gorgeous flowers and paths for her to explore. One day, while she was exploring, she found a rather large pond, full of fish that were much larger than she was. They enchanted her automatically with their bright, mottled colors, not knowing that they were the fish that inspired her name. She spends a lot of her time in the garden and one day, she had been draping her paw over the edge of the pond and one of the fish jumped up and nipped her toe. On instinct, she lashed out at the cheeky fish, but ended up falling in. She managed to swim back to the edge with a lot more ease than she thought and climbed up on the bank. For a few days she stayed clear of the pond and found other ways to entertain herself, eventually meeting other cats that lived next door. From them she learned of the strange wild cats that lived near their houses. Though she was curious about them, she had no ambition to go out and meet them for herself.
Koi still lives with her owners and may, one day, leave the safety of her garden to explore the surroundings.
