(THIS RP IS A ONE X ONE: ME AND WHISKERS. DO NOT POST UNLESS YOU ARE ONE OF US.)
The towering sunflowers stood like an army of green and gold buildings, swaying gently in the soft breeze. Sweet, utter silence guarded this feild of blooming giants; besides the insects and vermin that laid hidden beneath them, enjoying the shade the sunflowers gave.
Right then, a chickadee sent a warning cry to all, soaring off into the sky to spread this alarming message. The skitter-skatter of mice, and click-clack of beetles promptly started up, growing louder as a predator drew near; dark silver pelt glazed like newly washed steel under the sun that preoccupied the sky-- which was now a bruised purple color-- dangerously close to dusk.
Keen green eyes watched their suroundings, roaming up and down; gazing at the sunflowers warrily.
Why, oh why, did Willowpaw come here in the first place? It was just... huge. The never ending feild of sunflowers startling even the leaders (an his own) of other clans.
With a shudder, Willowpaw hunkered down; listening to the music of the mice and beetles-- a soothing melody to his ears...

Darkpaw giggled.
The grass gave way for her paws as she hopped through the ranch, away from her home. Fogclan territory was awfully dull after awhile. So WHO could really blame for her... for, er, peeking over the sidelines just a tiny tiny bit?
It's just like she was hurting someone.
Her ears perked. Who was that up ahead? It only took a second or two to properly establish; it was Willowpaw, of course! But why was he, of all cats, out here, where the sun dared to be brighter and the flowers grew without restraint? This was the land of true wilderness. Willowpaw did not seem like the type of cat to venture out-- oh well. Who cared? He was here.
"Willow!" She called with a bounce and then tackled the apprentice without a second thought.

Willowpaw gasped, the force of the tackle startling him beyond his limits of control. With a she-cat like shreik of surprise he spun on Darkpaw, puffing up into a silver ball of gigantic fluff; shivering in the breeze as the apprentice stared at Darkpaw, wide eye'd and scared.
"D-darkpaw?" He sputtered, shaking. "Wh-what are you doing h-here?" He wheezed, ears flat against his scalp and tail tucked tight between his legs, his expression miffed.

There was a moment of silence between the two.
Then she cackled, laughing loudly and harshly, giggling and bowing over as if praising him for amusing her to no end. "I'm s-s-sorry!" She hissed and chuckled, trying to stop so she could talk, for Starclan's sake. It's just... you.. you-you...!"
"You're just so funny and weird, ya know?" Darkpaw finally blurted out, trotting up to him and flicking his nose with her tail. "And in regards to your question-- which was totally rude, you could have said hi first-- I could ask you the same thing."
Darkpaw sprang up and danced around him with another crazy, wild laugh. "I'll answer don't worry! I'm here because I'm bored and I was hoping a stroll through the good ol' not-Fogclan-territory territory would be my pick-me-up. You?"

"I-is funny and w-weird a com-compliment?" Willowpaw quizzed, whiskers quivering. "Nevermind. I-I'm he-here becau-cause I enjo-joy the sc-scenery." He admited sheepishly. "E-even if the sunflow-wers are huge." The petite tom added.
"I un-understand if you're b-bored, bu-ut did yo-you need to ta-tackle me?" Willowpaw asked, grimacing as he felt his side throbed slightly where Darkpaw had tackled him.

" In my mind it is. Weird is better then boring and I hate boring. It drives me up the wall. And clan life gets so repetitive-- but oh well, I guess I'll have to deal... for now." Darkpaw answered with a massive grin. She loved Willowpaw because of how scared he got. It was terrible to think, but it was so true-- the way he twitched and stuttered was all very laughable.
Plus he was nice. Can't go wrong with nice, right?
"I attacked you because I wanted to surprise you. I did a good job, huh?" Another grin. "Hey... how far have you gone past this point?" Her ears perked and she looked toward the horizon, which seemed to stretch on forever and ever and ever and ever and...ever.

"I-it is?" Willowpaw's fur prickled with relief and he smiled at Darkpaw-- a little weakly but it was still a smile. "Th-that's good to h-hear." His stuttering was slowly dying down-- another point for Darkpaw. "I wa-was hopeing to ha-have som-ome peace and q-quiet, but c-company is n-nice...I guess." He said, tilting his head to the side as he stared out at the horizen.
"But you did do a good job in surprising me-- admirable." His voice was smooth when it didn't stutter, and clear; like the surfice of water. "T-though," Oh. More suttering. "I wo-would appreciate it i-if you didn't t-tackle me anymore-- or s-surprise me, for that m-matter."
"I haven't gotten that far of distance." He then added. "T-this is as far as I've gone. I've n-not enough... courage... to g-go very far."

Darkpaw nodded, as she too calmed down, partially because the horizon was so beautiful. She rarely took time to look at stuff. But here she was, looking at the sun and the sky and she rather enjoyed it.
"Sunset is always so nice and peaceful," she meowed, ignoring what he had said about not tackling him-- please, if he knew anything about Darkpaw he would know that she was the kind that loved a good surprise. "But the nights... oh the nights are surprisingly noisy."
She glanced at Willowpaw and the idea gripped her brain. Mischief flashed through her warm golden eyes-- it was unmistakable. She didn't want to scare the tom away so she slid closer to him with more grace and calmness.
"I have an idea."' She whispered in the ear of the tom. True, no one was near them, but Darkpaw saw the world differently. This was her plan, her secret, and so the trees and the little insects running around on the ground were not permitted to hear.
"You wanna know what it is?" Again, mischief crept across her eyes and it was hard not to miss.

"It is. I love the purple color of the sky." He smiled at that; a genuine smile with the weak faltering. Though it dissapeard when Darkpaw slid closer to him; it sent his heart rating flying; fur prickling as she whispered in his ear: what was she...?
"An Idea?" Willowpaw whispered back, not looking at Darkpaw-- eyes staring straight ahead, almost like a robot the apprentice stiffend up. "S-sure." He sputtered, swiveling his ear away from Darkpaw's muzzle.

Darkpaw looked back to the darkening sky. "I think we should go farther. Wouldn't that be fun? I've never been farther then where I am, right now, and neither have you, soooo... checking it out together would be exciting. Right?" She didn't wait for an answer. She took a step instead.
"It's the great unknown, stretched in front of us-- we'd have to be stupid not to grab this chance. The clan is busy right now anyway, no one will miss two apprentices... we'll be back before the sun even peeks over the trees. C'mon, Willowpaw! It would be so fun."
Darkpaw turned back to him with a pleading expression. She always loved her adventures but they were always better when someone was beside her, sharing the experience. If Willowpaw didn't come with her, then she'd have to go alone-- that or head back to camp and drag someone else, which was out of the question. They were already out of camp.
All they had to do was go.
"Please Willowpaw?" She pleaded. "Please?"
