Rabbitstep flicked his tail as the cat jumped. If this turned ugly, the tom would just probably go wailing back into the forest if he showed him his thorn-sharp claws.
"Can you?"
He narrowed narrowed his eyes. If this cat thought he could just waltz in here, sit right down and reply to questions with smart remarks, he was going to lose some fur and ears. Before Rabbitstep could reply, the cat spoke again.
"My name is Night. Could you kindly explain what this place is?"
The tabby huffed. The Clans here may be fairly new, but surely word would have gotten out that they lived here? "This," Rabbitstep began, waving his tail around, "Is the MeadowClan camp, where MeadowClan cats live." He flatted his ears, baring his teeth. "For MeadowClan cats only."

ooc: 20% brave, 80% stupid. Rabbitsteps body language was increasingly hard to ignore, but Night remained calm. "MeadowClan cats?" He mewed, looking around. There certainly were a lot of cats there, all sharing the same discrete grassy scent mixed with their own. He watched them for a minute. It seemed nice to live in a place where you were surrounded by friends...and this guy. Ha! he thought, a smile creeping onto his face. "Well!" He piped, suddenly turning back to the grumpy-looking cat. "What is your name? And could you kindly stop looking like you're gonna kill me? I mean you no harm. " Night pointed out the rabbit that he brought in and smiled. He was either going to brighten this cats day (not likely) or get his ears clawed off. Either way, it was a noble effort. "How did you get to be a MeadowClan cat?" He asked suddenly. If this guy could do it, Night was sure he could. Why would any clan deny an attractive, young, and smart cat like me? He thought, nearly laughing at himself. He held his tongue in the presence of the tabby. This cat was serious business. He refused to purr anywhere near him. Instead, he sat down, tilted his head to the left, and waited for a reply to the flurry of questions he just threw at this 'MeadowClan cat.'

ooc; Awesome. He'll fit right in. /shot "This cat was serious business." -fistpump-
"What is your name? And could you kindly stop looking like you're gonna kill me? I mean you no harm."
"Rabbitstep." Rabbitstep answered, sheathing his claws and flicking his ears forward from the back of his head. He sat down, curling his tail over is paws neatly.
"How did you get to be a MeadowClan cat?"
The tabby froze. Why would this young rouge even care? Shifting his paws, he hesitated. Would telling this cat ask for nothing but trouble? He flicked his ear. Worrying was not something Rabbitstep normally did, and he wasn't about to make a habit of it. Taking a deep breath, he began. "I was born."
He was a to-the-point cat. And that was to the point.
ooc; "Love that idea!!! We have to do that." Mhmm. c: Sorry I didn't finish before I posted. I got writers block right in the middle of it and didn't want the rest to fail. >>;;

Night nearly sighed in relief when the cat called Rabbitstep relaxed his posture and sheathed his claws. Night was used to close calls, of course. He was annoying by nature. Still, even if he were somehow able to fight off an adult cat when he was 8 moons old, there was a whole clan against him.“Is that it?” Night mewed, slightly disappointed. Rabbitstep was born into the clan. Great story. But even if Rabbitstep was born here, it didn’t necessarily mean that Night had to be. A huge group of cats like this needed a leader, and Night was now determined to find him. He would let Night into the clan, right? “Do you guys have a leader or something?” Night meowed, staring intently at Rabbitstep.

“Is that it?”
"Basically." Rabbitstep nodded, closing his eyes. Of course, he could be more detailed than that, but this cat didn't let him have the chance when he shot out another question for him to answer.
“Do you guys have a leader or something?”
He reopened his eyes, only to see the black loner staring at him. He wasn't going to lie. It made him feel slightly awkward, but he wasn't going to show that. "Of course we do." Rabbitstep answered. "His name is Cedarstar."

Night smiled and leaned away from Rabbitstep, suddenly aware of how close he was. "Let's go get him!" Night meowed enthusiastically. He hopped onto his paws and trotted over to a den that reeked of different herbs and plants. He poked his head inside, looked around, and came back out. "What was that place? " He meowed to Rabbitstep. Before he had time to answer, Night ran to a den full of different moss patches on the ground. It smelled strongly of other cats, but it was empty. There was a similar den nearby, only that one had larger patches of moss. "You guys sleep here." Night meowed, poking the pile that smelled like Rabbitstep. He finally returned back to him and sat down. "So where's Cedarstar?"

"Right here."
An immense brown tom strode purposefully towards the loner and the rogue. His long, bark-colored fur on his chest rippled slightly in the light breeze as his shadowed legs propelled him towards the two smaller toms. He stopped when he reached them, his massive head looming above the others and his large stature taking up much space. "I, am Cedarstar." The big tom boomed, his voice and eyes friendly though his muscles were tense and wary, "What can I do for you, stranger?"
He sat, wrapping his brown fan of a tail around thick, round paws. His eyes searched the new cat's face. "You are Night," he spoke clearly and strongly, "welcome to MeadowClan." He swiveled his head to face Rabbitstep, his lion's mane of fur following, "Thank you, Rabbitstep, for watching the loner. You may stay, or you can go, your choice." He nodded briskly, squinting his round yellow eyes pleasantly before turning back to the black cat.
"Why are you here? Do you wish to join us in MeadowClan?" [/center]

Night composed himself when Cedarstar appeared. Only his twitching whiskers betrayed his calm face. "I think I would be a valuable addition to MeadowClan." He mowed, smiling. Let's hope Cedarstar is as nice as he seems... Night thought, kneading the ground in anticipation. He still had very little knowledge about clan life, or what a clan was at all, but he figured that it had to be better than living by himself. If he ever came face-to-face with a dog or badger, he had no chance of surviving it on his own. A clan just seemed like the safer choice. Besides, Rabbitstep had grown on him. Night was curious about how he worked. Joining the clan was the perfect way to find out. "May I join?" He meowed.

"Right here."
Rabbitstep turned to see Cedarstar padding towards them. Dipping his head in respect to Cedarstar, he shifted to give the large tom some room to speak with this loner.
"Thank you, Rabbitstep, for watching the loner. You may stay, or you can go, your choice."
"It was no trouble at all. If you do not mind, I would like to stay." he meowed turning back to Night. He was curious to see what Cedarstar would do. The tabby blinked. If he was able to join, who would teach him the Warrior Code, the borders, the fighting skills, and everything that a Warrior needed to know?
"May I join?"
Rabbitstep flicked his tail. One more cat to deal with.
