Dappledflower was craving fish. She wanted fish. Had she ever tasted fish before in her life? No, but she knew it would be good and she wanted it. She wanted it so much she was about to storm out of the Nursery and order a warrior, the first one she found, to get a fish for her. She didn't even know why she wanted it, she didn't even know how she was supposed to eat it. Dappledflower shifted in her nest, imagining sinking her teeth into the fish's warm flesh. Or was it cold?
Dappledflower couldn't take it anymore. She had to have a fish. She stood up from her nest inside of the Nursery and stormed into MeadowClan's camp clearing, waiting for an unsuspecting warrior to come along. She lashed her tail impatiently. Where were they all? MeadowClan had a bunch of warriors! Not all of them could be out doing something!

Mistystream was unsatisfied with her performance this morning.
She hadn't caught anything. It was...well, pathetic, honestly. Mistystream was known for being a fantastic hunter and she liked to live up to that reputation. But for some reason, she couldn't concentrate this morning and every rabbit or bird that came her way escaped her. Once, she had gotten close enough to scrape the tail... but her claw had slipped through and that forsaken rabbit hopped away merrily, because it had better things to do than get chased around by the likes of her. The whole trip had put her in a rather nasty mood. She was scolding herself all over the place, herr tail was swiping back and forth in aggravation and she was hungry to boot. Mistystream had thought of going back into the fields and trying again, but in the end she figured she should take a break and gather her thoughts. Oh, and eat something too. That could help.
But when she entered the camp, she didn't really get a chance to eat anything because she saw Dappledflower looking around frantically for something-- or someone. Rabbitstep? True, they were mates so of course they were close but unless something was wrong with the kits...
Was something wrong with her kits?!
Mistystream instantly abandoned her previous plan and trotted over to the queen as quickly as she could. "Is something wrong?" the pretty silver she-cat asked Dappledflower, tilting her head, her eyes growing both curious and concerned.

Ah! There's a warrior! Mistystream. Dappledflower waited for the warrior to come to her. And it was about time too. Had all of the MeadowClan warriors, except for her and Mistystream, fallen off the face of the forest into StarClan's grips? And if so why had they not taken Dappledflower too?! Dappledflower dismissed these thoughts as the she-cat made her way over to her.
"Is something wrong?"
"I have the craving of fish. Do you know if there are any fish in MeadowClan territory? Or perhaps we could go and ask another clan for a fish... Really, I don't need a huge pile... Just one..." Dappledflower seemed to have lost her train of thought, wondering if Cloudstar would understand her dire situation. She barely noticed that Mistystream wasn't asking her if there was something she needed, but if there was something wrong with the kits. The whole clan was buzzing about Dappledflower's kits. They would be the first in MeadowClan. They would be the first MeadowClan born kits, apprentices, and eventually warriors. She was proud of this. She and Rabbitstep got to be the parents of the first real MeadowClan-blooded cats. Dappledflower looked back up at Mistystream then said abruptly, "So how about you and I go and find a fish? Maybe Cloudstar will understand my need of one. He can't kill us for asking right? And it's only one... Maybe if we bring him a couple of mice in exchange?" It seemed as if Dappledflower had decided to pick up the conversation again. Without even waiting for Mistystream's answer Dappledflower stood and walked over to Cedarstar's den. Hopefully he was inside, if he wasn't then she was going to find him... Wherever he may be. "Cedarstar? May I speak to you? Please?" Dappledflower knew to respect her leader, even if she was hormonal and a bit bipolar at the moment. She sat and waited for a response. She knew that Cedarstar would probably think she was insane for wanting to go all the way over to StreamClan, but could he deny her? She was pregnant and very needy. Plus, it's not like he would understand how much she wanted this damn fish. She was a determined pregnant queen, she was going to get a fish.[/blockquote]

Cedarstar padded into the light of his den, mewing "Come in!" he sat, large golden plume of a tail wrapped carefully around his wide, shadowed paws. "Dappledflower!" Cedarstar mewed cheerfully, "what brings you to my den?" Cedarstar was surprised to see the young queen, but nevertheless quite enthused. He was almost as proud as she to have kits coming into his clan -- it was a wonderful sign. Almost as wonderful as the fact that everything since the long journey has been great, and now was just getting better.
He locked Dappledflower with his stunning yellow eyes and spoke. "What can I do for ya?"

Dappledflower entered Cedarstar's den. It was quite small in here, though she didn't mind; if she slept in a den like this she would always feel safe she imagined. "Dappledflower! What brings you to my den?" It must be a good sign that he was in a good moon. Heck, even if he was in a terrible mood she was going to get her fish.
What can I do for ya?" Dappledflower sat down and looked at her leader with warm eyes. "I am caving fish. I know this might seem absurd but I'm going to bring Mistystream with me to StreamClan so I can get a fish. I think I'll bring a couple mice too, so that I can exchange them for their prey." She wasn't asking his permission. He was merely informing him of what she was going to do. As Dappledflower waited for Cedarstar to voice his thoughts she looked around the den. She had decided that she would like the safety that this den brought, but not how small it was. The air in here was stuffy because it was really only meant for one cat to be in it at a time. She crouched down on all four of her legs, to have more room. She felt as if the walls were closing in on her. Dappledflower glanced at Cedsarstar to see if he was going to say something soon. Preferably really soon.[/blockquote]

Cedarstar chewed on his thoughts. He knew, glancing at the determined look in the young she-cat's eye, that she was going to do this no matter what. He had to let her. "Alright... I wouldn't suggest going alone.. so yes, bring Mistystream.. but don't bring anyone else. It will be a bit suspicious. Mistystream can take care of you." He shifted his weight onto his other shadowed hind leg and continued. "Yes.. bring something to swap. You can't expect Cloudstar to just GIVE you prey. Very good. Alright, so seeing as I cannot stop you, you may go." He added, a bit cautiously, "but be careful what you say and do. Alright?"

Dappledflower smiled at her leader's caution, "..but be careful what you say and do. Alright?" She rolled her eyes at him playfully then meowed, "Don't you worry your little head off. I'm not going to walk up to Cloudstar and tell him the whole whereabouts of MeadowClan. And I who is going to find a pregnant queen and a warrior a threat? Not Cloudstar, certainly." Dappledflower stood and started to head out of Ceaderstar's den. When she was out of the small cramped den she made her way over to the fresh kill pile. She picked a small mouse and a sparrow, plenty enough for the fish she assumed. She made her way over to where Mistystream sat and dropped the prey in front of her. "We're going to see Cloudstar. I'm going to get my fish. And we're going to exchange these for it. Cedarstar has insisted that you go with me." No need to tell her that I was the one who told him that she was going with me, she thought to herself. Dappledflower gave a little 'hmph' then made her way out of the camp, leaving Mistystream to carry the prey and follow behind her. Dappledflower stopped briefly when she met the forest air, remembering the way to StreamClan. When she was sure she knew she continued on through the forest, not waiting for Mistystream. Current moods: determined, annoyed, and invincible.[/blockquote]

Mistystream couldn't decide if she was annoyed with Dappledflower's attitude, impressed by the pure fierceness of it, or amused at the pregnant queen and her unusual request. Fish? From Streamclan? Trade for mice? It all seemed a tad... complicated. Couldn't she just settle for a rabbit and get it over with?
Obviously not. Dappledflower was stalking toward her now with a very triumphant gleam in her eyes, one that suited the rest of her beautiful complexion well. It was that look that she wore on her muzzle so smugly that informed Mistystream that she had no choice in the matter and that she had been sucked in the moment she had decided to say "hello" to the likes of Dappledflower. Although the queen was quite the friendly cat, she could be as rude as a two-leg and completely inconsiderate of others when she wanted something. It was always Dappledflower first.
But, Mistystream knew-- or hoped-- that her pregnancy had something to do with her persona at the moment. When she was a warrior (and though Mistystream only knew her as one for possibly a moon) she was quite the dedicated cat and put her clan before herself. Once the kits were born and Dappledflower was back in the warriors den, Mistystream hoped she would return to being that loyal she-cat.
"All.. All right," she murmured, but Dappleflower was already parading off without her. With a roll of her green eyes, Mistystream picked up the prey and ran after her. Who knew what would happen if Dappledflower went into Streamclan territory alone!

Now how was Dappledflower going to eat the thing? The fish was cold and very much dead as it lay before her. She had just returned to the MeadowClan camp after going to get the fish from StreamClan. I bet Cedarstar will know. She hoisted herself up onto her legs, it was really getting harder to go from sitting to standing these days with her stomach being so big, and padded over to Cedarstar's den.
"Cedarstar? May I speak to you?" Dappledflower waited calmly for her leader to respond. Maybe he wasn't even in there... Maybe she would have to fins another cat to teach her how to eat it. There had to be somecat in MeadowClan that knew the ways of fish-eating.
