ooc;; Hope you don't mind Stormflower :P
xxx Stormflower's eyes narrowed as the cats argued with one another. Sitting in the shadow's of the Warrior's Den she kept her tail tightly curled around her paws. The bickering and anger with one another was crawling under her skin. Fireclaw was rather harsh this morning, yes it was Sunhigh, but both cats she was grumbling at had already done their share for now.
Having enough of the snippy she-cat, Stormflower rose to her paws and trotted toward the small group, tail kinked over her back. "Everyone seems to be getting along this fine morning." Casting a glance at Fireclaw, Stormflower glanced at Spiderstorm and Redtail in turn. "Going hunting again?" Moving her gaze to the fresh kill pile, she noted the well stocked nature of it. Awaiting a response from her clanmates, Stormflower figured they could turn this into a jolly little boarder patrol.

I adopted Redtail, just for clarification. I'm going to do my best to rp him.
Redtail appraised the deputy with amused amber eyes. "Perhaps" He said, nodding at the fresh-kill pile. He'd noted its size, who wouldn't have? Then again, his main aim was to tire Spiderstorm. They needed SOMETHING to do...a border patrol, perhaps? He wasn't good at hunting anyway. He could somewhat guess what Stormflower was thinking...but hopefully they wouldn't have to bring Fireclaw along. He remembered his original idea of swimming. Perhaps they would go the river anyway...he knew Stormflower loved to fish. Even with the problem of Spiderstorm, or perhaps beacuse of it, this was going to be quite an interesting day.

Ahh, there he is... just a few pawsteps more... and now! Briartail mentally counted down the steps as he crept toward Redtail. The ginger warrior was larger than he was, probably stronger too, but the small tom had the element of surprise on hand. If he could just time this correctly it would work perfectly. Briartail's haunches tensed up, he took a deep breath for good luck, and then he pounced toward Redtail.
Almost nothing compared to the exhiliration of flying through the air. Nothing could touch you as you soared toward your target, paws outstretched, and feeling completely weightless. Briartail loved pouncing on things, needless to say. Pure, unadulterated glee emulated from every hair on his pelt as he shot toward his clanmate. He landed on Redtail with a loud THWACK! before he rolled over on the ground and collapsed into a fit of laughter.
"Good morning everyone! It's a new day, now we can do stuff again! Aren't you excited!" Briartail's energetic chirp seemed to brighten his spirits even more as the reality of what he said sunk in. He could do stuff again, and now he even had an apprentice to train! "Sorry if I startled you, Reddy, 'ol chum."
Briartail pranced off to the apprentices den without another word. Yes, he pranced. He did not walk, he did not bounce, he pranced. It was quite a comical sight if you did not happen to be annoyed with him, and even if you were annoyed with him you'd be hard pressed not to at least chuckle. He poked his head inside the den and picked out his apprentice almost instantly. Not only did she have the most stand-out pelt in the clan, she was also the biggest cat in the den.
"Flamepaw, time to get up. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the sky is clear, and it's a fabulous day to explore the territory with your mentor. So let's get to it!" Briartail flashed a grin at the ginger-and-white heap of fur and pulled his head out of the den. He didn't want to wake up any of the other apprentices, of course.
-----------------
Duskpaw groaned and rolled over in her bed of moss. Leave it to Briartail to wake her up in the middle of such a fantastic dream! Now that she was awake, she was awake and there was nothing she could do about it, as much as she wanted to. A small pang of guilt pierced her belly as she realized that she was one of the last apprentices asleep.
"Someone could've at least woken me up," she muttered crossly to herself, trying to disguise her mortification the best that she could. Duskpaw mumbled a quick greeting to Flamepaw, and then one to Briartail as she dashed out of the den. Oh StarClan, I must look a fright! Duskpaw whirled around to see if anyone was staring at her yet. The stares would be justified, given the fact that her pelt was sticking up all over and there were bits of moss stuck to it, sometimes at the end of a clump of fur that was sticking up. In short, she looked like someone had come in the middle of the night, smothered her fur with honey, mussed it up, and spat moss on her sleeping form. She glanced around a few times before shaking the moss off her pelt. Duskpaw tried to act nonchalant as she started the tedious task of making herself look presentable.

ooc:
i dunno if you read her personality recently, but i made her have short-term memory loss 'cos... i thought it'd be fun, i dunno. (i didn't see your post on the c-box, whoops) would that be a problem? ^^;;; i'll change her back if you'd like... >> -x- "Flamepaw, time to get up. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the sky is clear, and it's a fabulous day to explore the territory with your mentor. So let's get to it!"
The large lump of ginger fur stirred in its sleep at these words. This was obviously Flamepaw, the apprentice who simply looked too large to own the name -paw. She rolled over and muttered something about 'and it was -thiiiis- big' before opening her eyes. She blinked a few times, unaware that her mentor needed her, and then sat up suddenly, her tail fur fluffed out. Moss and leaves from her nest flew in all directions. The she-cat looked around the den, green eyes wide, panicking. "Where's the mouse? Where's the mouse? Where's the mouse?" she shouted at Briartail. "It's around here somewhere... it's -thiiis- big." She spread her paws apart to show her mentor just how big this "mouse" was.
Flamepaw stared at her mentor for a long time. What a sad sight she looked. Fur fluffed up and sticking out at odd angles, tail five times as big as normal, whiskers drooping, eyes as big as full moons...
She abruptly started grooming, the "mouse" disappearing entirely from her thoughts. Her fur laid flat again, and she nodded as Duskpaw left the den. "So are we training now, or what? she asked casually.

Briartail chuckled at his apprentice, but on his face was a look of incredulity. Apparantly the "mouse that was thiiis big" had suddenly vaporized, as Flamepaw's attentions were now focused on grooming herself. Oh Flamepaw, what ever shall I do with you?
"Well, I think you should prob'ly come outta the den afore we do any training. I don't wanna wreck it," Briartail mewed, scuffling his paws. It would be bad if they somehow managed to destroy the apprentice's den. They would not only be forced to repair it, but it would be humiliating. The small tom flashed a bright grin at Flamepaw and bounced on his paws.
"Go get somethin' ta eat. We're gonna do some territory exploration and a bit of hunting today! So let's get cracking!" Briartail waved his tail at the fresh-kill pile. He'd already eaten his breakfast today. It had been a nice plump trout, quite a tasty one actually. He found himself salivating just thinking about it. A breeze danced around camp, and carried by it was dandelion fluff. Briartail's tail went rigid and started to fluff. He had to chase it, but he couldn't. He started muttering vehemently about "to chase or not to chase" and "can't a tom have any fun around here?" Finally he gave in. The dandelion fluff always managed to stay tantalizingly out of paw's reach. Briartail gave up with a huff as it drifted over the camp boundary. "THAT," he began in a serious tone, "Is how to not chase an opponent. Or a bird. Or a rabbit. Or a butterfly. Or... really anything, actually." Briartail grinned again and padded over to Flamepaw.

Redtail hissed and fluffed out his tail, turning his head to snap at his attacker before realizing it was only a mouse-brained brown tabby. He settled down, twitching his whiskers in annoyance. Briartail. Honestly, didn't he have anything better to do? When the brown tom pranced back into the clearing, Redtail spoke scathingly. "Well, when you finish wasting time, 'ol chum-" Here Redtail snickered. "-you might realize we actually need to do work here." He tilted his head at the deputy who was watching unamusedly at Briartail. He hoped Stromflower would organize a patrol soon. Spiderstorm wasn't getting more tired while they sat here.

Briartail cast a confused look toward Redtail. Just a few days ago he had treated the little tom as a friend, and now he was snapping at him? That was hardly behavior for a friend. Couldn't he see that Briartail was indeed preparing to do work? At that very moment his apprentice was supposedly eating her breakfast before they went out to train! Briartail did not bother to glance at the she-cat to confirm whether or not she was doing as she had been told.
"Well, Redtail, I was actually gettin' ready ta take my apprentice out to train." Briartail said calmly. It vexed him beyond belief to be accused of being lazy or goofing off when he could be doing something "important" when, in fact, he was just waiting for Flamepaw to eat. Redtail wouldn't understand, he told himself, 'cause he's go no apprentice of 'is own. The knowledge made him feel strangely smug, and he wasn't sure that he liked the smugness very much. It confused him. "We were just leaving, actually," he said firmly. He gave his next order with a petulant flick of his tail. The small warrior just wanted to get away from the tom who was making him feel mean. "Flamepaw, come on. Let's go. Daylight's wastin' away!" Without waiting for a reply from his apprentice, Briartail padded out of the camp and into the rest of StreamClan territory. It was only once he was out of earshot of those in camp that he let himself bristle up and hiss. He took a few deep breaths so that by the time Flamepaw caught up with him he would look relatively normal.

Flamepaw followed her mentor outside. She blinked her eyes in the bright light. She was always surprised by how bright it could get out here while she slept. Or maybe she just slept too long...
Once her eyes had adjusted, the apprentice padded over and pulled a fish from the fresh-kill pile, just like her mentor had ordered. She gulped it down ravenously, not wanting to be late for her training session. Hunting. Oh boy. This would be a site to see, and Flamepaw was grateful that her mentor would be the only one to see it. If the other apprentices knew she had no real skills...
And even though she wouldn't say so, she was a little embarrassed to be a full-grown cat and still sleeping in the apprentice den. Cats many moons younger than her were already warriors, and she still had a couple more moons of training. It was almost unfair, but she guessed she deserved it. She wasn't exactly a warrior when catching a mouse was one of the hardest things she'd ever tried.
Then, as Flamepaw was thinking to herself and not paying attention to what was going on around her, Briartail bolted out of camp with no warning whatsoever (that she could tell, anyway). The she-cat scrambled to her paws and raced after him, leaving the scraps from her breakfast behind her.
She was relieved to find that he at least cared enough to wait for her. Padding up next to him, she stopped to catch her breath. "You could have... at least... given some kind of... warning," she said, gulping in air.

Redtail shook his head. He was slightly ashamed of how he'd behaved to the sunny-natured tom, but he DID NOT LIKE to be snuck up on. One of his least favorite things, that was. Then again, he didn't have an apprentice. He wasn't likely to get one either, in his opinion. Now if Stormflower would just hurry up. He flashed her an amber-eyed glance he hoped would convey his urge to get going.
