Beliefs Tawnypaw, having origins of a kittypet, had never heard of StarClan. From her fence post, she had seen a group of cats come by her home, but had never been really interested in what they were doing. Many cats passed through that area, so it was no surprise to her when the went by her house. But, when she curled up into her bed, and she fell asleep into a dream she was reminded of those cats. In the back of her head, it was like a Twoleg plug had been put into the thing that made their house light like the moon. She saw images of cats, a bush where a tabby came out of, then she saw something that made her shudder. She was now in a small clearing in some place she had never seen before in her life. Anabella looked around, frightened. She padded over to an area in the clearing where it looked like a cat before her had sat. Anabella looked around nervously and sat down.
"Hello, Anabella." a few wisps of shadow gathered into a form...of a feline. Anabella squeaked, this was just all too disturbing to be real. Annabella sat up and paw at a leave, unsure. But, when her claw touched the leaf, its essence just...disappeared. Annabella jumped back and hissed at where the golden leaf had just been.
"W-What is this place?" she whispered to the shadow. It moved, and she shuddered. This was all too disturbing. The shadow sat down, or so she thought by her.
"This is one of the many places StarClan can meet with their descendants." the shadow's voice was cool and calming. For a minute, Anabella could picture the painting the shadow was painting so delicately in her head. She saw kittens being born, a cat being appointed a warrior. Wait, how did she know that? She shook her tortoiseshell head to clear it. This was a dream, none of this was even physically possible.
"Star- wait what...!" she exclaimed. She padded quizzically over to the shadow. "What do you mean?"
The cat seemed to sigh in their shadowed form. It padded back to the mass of shadows. With a start, Anabella realized that the group of shadows had crept over to where the shadow and her had spoken.
"All will be revealed if you join the cats who roll with the tide." the cats seem to say at once. Anabella jumped with a start and ran as fast as she could in the back of her head, it was like a Twoleg plug had been put into the thing that made their house light like the moon. Parents | Sebastian(NP) and Sunflower(NP)
Siblings | Frisky(NP)
Other Kin | None
Mate | None
Crush | None
Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | Badgernose(?)
Appearance | Tawnypaw is about the average size of a cat. Her legs aren't that long, nor is body. From others point of view, she may look like a small porcelain doll. But, she has a hidden strength. She is just as strong as any of her den mates. (technically she isn't in the same den, but their all apprentices so yeah) Tawnypaw's face is almost heart shaped, which later gives her her official name. Her eyes are a soft blue, almost welcoming. Her eyes are protective of her feelings though and she only shares them with the cats she holds most dear in her life. Tawnypaw's fur is soft but long and silky. In the winter, her fur is fuller and longer to keep her warm during Leaf Bare.
Her fur is a brilliant mix of orange, black and white. Her underbelly is black and orange, while her paws are a mix of the three colors. Tawnypaw's tail is long and bushy, with mixtures of orange, black and white. The main color that dominates the rest is the milky, bright orange that covers most of her head and parts of her belly and body. Her claws are sharp, but only because Tawnypaw sharpens them on her favorite willow trees to pick out the poppy seeds for her mentor.
Personality | Tawnypaw sees the goodness in others, even when there appears to be none at all. She is very high spirited, and will bounce up to any challenge given, no matter the risk. Although she is still firm in her choice in 'joining the cats who roll with the tide', she still ponders how her brother and family are doing in the Twoleg place. Tawnypaw is very bright, and learned quickly when she originally joined the Clan's as they began to form separate clans.
She loves the calming waves of the rivers and streams that inter-loop the entire territory. They seem to speak out to her in her darkest days and keep her paw-steps straight. Tawnypaw blabbers on and on, and to some that is a weakness. They say she talks to much to notice what's going on around her. Tawnypaw disagrees, if your curious, you'll find your answers. But if you sit around for mommy to come and save you from a badger. More than likely, your mother wouldn't have the sense that you were in danger. So, you must defend yourself and not always rely on people.
Skills | Tawnypaw's skill is intelligence. She is wise, and knows when to stop telling someone she is right. She is a bright young apprentice who learned the way of the Clan's very fast, and has learned them in a way not many do. She lives up to them, but while also learning that there is a time and place to contradict the code as well. If you feel it in your heart, that it is the honest and right thing to do, then go for it.
History |
Kitten hood:
Annabella had been born to a stray and a house cat. Her mother was Sunflower, a calico she-cat who was always purring at the most obscure of things. She was a softy for toms who were kind to her, which was how she ended up have kits with Sebastian. He had been wandering the streets for a scrap of food when he had wondered by her home. He had been generally interested in her, and then the kits came.
It was in a dresser draw where Frisky and Annabella had been born. Sunflower had been feeling pains all day when she felt them coming. Frisky had been a white cat with with orange yellowish spots around his body, he inherited his piercing amber eyes from his father. While Annabella was a tortoiseshell, with blue warm eyes. There had been a third kitten, but it hadn't made it. The hardest thing for Sunflower to do was lose her last kitten. But, over the days, Sunflower was soon occupied by her other two surviving kitten's. At the age of 3 months, Frisky was adopted to a family two blocks away. While Annabella wasn't interesting any of the humans who came by. They said she was too hyper for their "quiet families".
One day, Annabella had met with another family, they had said the same thing. She was sick of this. Annabella ran through the cat door and ran too the fence post where she sat and looked out into the forest below and beyond her. But, today, in the bitter cold winds she saw through the mist, a group of cats venturing by. Startled, sh ran straight into her home and into her mother.
Sunflower looked at her daughter quizzically. "What was that about?" she meowed. Annabella caught her breath. She looked around. Their humans were in their largest room watching a moving screen.
"Okay...this large group of cats is going by, but their not like the other groups that go by, they went by like they have a purpose. And...and I'm supposed to be a part of that." she squeaked to her mother, hoping she would belief her. But, like expected her mother rolled her eyes. She looked over to the cat door and walked out, Annabella followed her and sighed.
"Honey, just because no one...has adopted you yet doesn't mean they won't!" Sunflower purred.
"It must just be your nerves. Come, darling and we must go to bed, it is late." Sunflower spoke amused and swished her black and white tail and went back through the door.
"But--!"
Annabella cut herself off. It was hopeless, but she just wished someone would believe her. Drooping her orange and white tail, she followed her mother through the door. She took one last glance at the stars, and then she went though the magenta door.
That night, when Annabella was fast asleep by her mother, she started to dream. In her dream there were cats wailing at her, begging her for something, clawing at her. She squeaked and ran away from the, frightened and intrigued.
"GET AWAY!" she yelped, but when she opened her eyes, her mother was looking down at her, Sunflower's eye were full of concern.
"Are you okay, Annabella?" she whispered. Annabella looked around, startled. But, she was back in the kitchen with her mother. She shook her head, to clear her thoughts. The horrifying cats were gone, and the house was silent.
"It was just... a nightmare." she meowed, trying to reassure herself, more than her mother.
But, she kept having those dream, or night mares. They wouldn't go away. Then, a week later she went back outside for the first time since she had seen the group of cats. Annabella shook herself and wandered out early in the morning. She padded out and jumped onto the fence post. She looked around, and swore she saw a shadow that looked like a feline, but when she looked back it was gone. Shivering, she went back to her bed and went to sleep.
In the back of her head, it was like a Twoleg plug had been put into the thing that made their house light like the moon. She saw images of cats, a bush where a tabby came out of, then she saw something that made her shudder. She was now in a small clearing in some place she had never seen before in her life. She opened her eyes and woke up. She realized she belonged with theses mystical cats descendants, and not the life with the twolegs. She woke her mother up and explained it all to her mother.
"Well, love, i-if that's what you would like, you may go." her mother stuttered, on the verge of yowling in misery.
"Thank you, mother." Annabella nuzzled her mother affectionately.
Apprenticeship
After bidding her mother a fond good bye, Annabella was out to find the group of cats that she had seen. She started to smell the pine trees around her, and found their scent. But a small group of cats saw her and padded over to her. "What are you doing here, kittypet?" the one in the middle meowed questioningly.
"Well, these cats, called StarClan came to me--" she began but was cut off, by one of the cats in the back of the group.
"You had dreams of StarClan?" they interrupted.
"Yes..." she meowed.
"Come with us, Cedarstar will want to see you immediately."
Annabella nodded sheepishly, following the group. They went farther and farther into the forest, and soon Annabella couldn't seen the tall protective fence that had kept her safe for these past months. Soon, they came to a valley where many cats were talking to one another. At the center, three cats were speaking to one another. Annabella gulped, nervous. As the padded down to the three, they looked up at the patrol.
"Cloudstar, this cat claims she has had dreams of StarClan." the leading cat informed. Annebella bent her whiskers, nervous. Cloudstar studied her, and then he looked to his companions and whispered to them. She only caught the works "she", "medicine cat" and "apprentice". She gulped and looked up diligently at the three cats.
"What is your name?" one of his companions meowed.
"Annabella." she meowed.
"You looked more of a Tawnypaw." the one of the left meowed. She just nodded, unsure what to make of all this. The three talked again and then the one on the right meowed to her.
"Annabella, would you like to be renamed Tawnypaw and join a Clan as a medicine cat apprentice?"
She didn't hesitate. "Yes."
Role Play Example |
The hint of frost in the air seemed to make the idea the Leaf Bare was only a few sunrises from clenching the entire territory. The tortoiseshell she-cat had been hiding in her small nest of moss, bracken and various bird's feathers. She stretched her sore back legs and got up to her full length. Tawnypaw padded out of her part of the medicine cat den and squirmed through the narrow gap of the medicine cat den. When she was outside, she breathed in the sweet scents of StreamClan. She joyfully swished her tail in the prospect of going out of Camp and gathering herbs for her mentor.
When she had reached the clearing where marigold and dock grew best, she dug to find the few leaves that still had any essence of life in them. She plucked a few marigold flowers wit her teeth and put them in her bundle of dock leaves she had dug up earlier. Then, she carefully clawed off a few of the fresh leaves.
Right, she thought, I hope there are still some poppy seeds by the stream. Carefully grabs the end of the oak leaves that held the bundle, she padded over to the stream. She sighed in relief, the poppy flowers were still in a slight bloom, just enough to still be able to take the flower head's and extract the seeds. Tawnypaw bit of a couple of heads and put them into the bundle of herbs. Her mentor would be happy to see she had been tending to her duties while they had been sleeping.
Tawnypaw padded happily back to the camp, carrying a full bundle of much needed supplies for her Clan.
