Graystripe wanted to walk. He wanted to walk long and far away, somewhere past the western horizon. Perhaps he would follow the sun that sank below the mountain range. Surely such a brilliant energy rested somewhere beautiful for the night. Somewhere far away from this bland and drab landscape. Preferably a place where the sun never set, so that he didn't have to rely on the moon and stars for anything. And, of course, if the sun was never going to set, the scenery would have to be pleasing to the eye. Open landscapes? No, that wasn't right. There would have to be trees and bushes and flowers and all sorts of delectable flora.
Also, he couldn't be alone. There simply had to be another cat there with him.
But that was far from the current matter. Dreams of a yonder place of beauty could wait, right now all he wanted to do was walk. Which, of course, seemed impossible when he was just so comfortable by the river. Hazel eyes trailed on the fresh looking water, the silver flicker of minnows matching the flecks of lighter color in Graystripe's eyes. Why he was here, waiting by the river when all his muscles screamed to walk, the tom would never know. Was it punishment, or was it reflection? His mind had drawn him to this place for a reason, now if only it knew how to speak clearly. It was embarrassing, not understanding his own mind sometimes. Especially when he ended up getting lost in his thoughts. How sad, they were his, after all. Should he not know how they worked if they were his? Or was he not entitled to that privilege for past sins?
… Perhaps he would never know. Because if his mind was anything like the river before him, its secrets would never be known.
The tom sighed, flicking a black tipped tail in distress. No longer did he want to walk – it seemed so trivial all of a sudden. No, now Graystripe wanted to talk.
If only that didn't involve getting up to find someone.
ooc meet graystripe ~ this post is kind of fail. i need to work him out better. for physical reference, he looks like this and is indeed on the small side.
