Name |
Thorn; [Mudpaw]; Mudleg
Gender |
Tom
Age |
12 moons
Rank |
Apprentice
Clan |
PineClan
Beliefs|
Mudpaw’s never really been sure what to believe. He feels comfortable in a Clan where they don’t believe in StarClan, because he’s mostly leaning towards what’s more reasonable. His parents never talked to him about whether or not there are cats in the sky watching over him. For now, he's still on the fence, though he watches the other Clans that /do/ believe. and he's decided you're not a bad cat if you believe.
Parents |
Both of his parents were loners until they joined the Clan.
Sparrow--mother(NP)
Brick--father(NP)
Siblings |
His birth sibilings died soon after birth; considers Ravenpaw his sister.

Apprentice/Mentor |
Firefang
Appearance |
Mudpaw's white pelt is long and sleek, flowing soft over his long body. It's splashed with blotches of brown on his sides. The dark chocolate color stretches all the way up his left foreleg to his shoulder and halfway up his right foreleg. A patch of brown covers his right eye, sweeping up to cover his ear. His eyes are dark honey-yellow, not showing much emotion unless he lets it slip.
Mudpaw's body is generally thin and long, his legs tall and slender. He usually grooms his fur as flat as possible where it's long. His pawpads are worn, mostly from running, and he has to clean himself often to work free knots and thorns or brambles that get caught in his fur. He's nimble and light on his feet, looking very graceful when he moves about, particularly when he runs. He's become fairly good over time at weaving through closely placed trees and slipping through the shrubbery, which he's perfected with many moons of sprinting through the forest.
Personality |
Typically Mudpaw's fairly agreeable. He takes orders quite well and doesn't express his opion much, unless he's asked what he thinks. He's thoughtful and observant, but not the most sensitive cat around. He and Ravenpaw don't always see eye-to-eye, so they can often be seen bickering over little things.
Mudpaw will usually hold a good, solid conversation with anyone who approaches him. Rarely ever will he be the one to make first contact, though. Sometimes he gets so lost in his own mind that he forgets other cats are around, so he always feels a bit less guilty when someone else walks up in a genuinely good mood and wants to talk. He'll tell you the truth or give you his opinion willingly, though sometimes he feels a little insecure about his ideas or thoughts, as if he's always wrong.
Looking past his general quietness, Mudpaw is thoughtful and observant. He really pays attention to the cats surrounding him, picking up on their little quirks and insecurities. You'll only have to tell him something once; he doesn't tend to forget easily. Sometimes, though, he overthinks things. He thinks he spends too much time in his own thoughts and might be better off a little more ignorant. Reality isn't always a fun place to be.
Skills |
Mudpaw excells at hunting. His ability to step silently makes him stealthy and his quick actions allow prey little time to escape. He's a fairly decent fighter, but when it comes down to the rough-and-tumble stuff, his lanky legs tend to get in the way. If he needs to fight he relies mostly on his teeth or ability to pounce, putting distance between himself and his enemy then suprising them by leaping out of nowhere. He's afraid of heights, and not a particularly great swimmer, as his fur gets heavy when it's wet.
History |
Both of Mudpaw--then Thorn--'s parents were born loners in a small group of roaming cats. They fell in love and broke away from the group to make their home in the forest. Their first litter came along in the middle of leaf-bare, four tiny kits. Prey was running low, though, and Sparrow couldn't manage to feed all her kits. The first to die was the littlest she-kit, a tiny tortie named Berry. The next to go was Mudpaw's only brother, Bracken. And, finally, just before new-leaf, Fawn died. Both parents were horrified and grew protective of Thorn, never letting him stray too far out of their sight.
One day Thorn snuck away from his parents. He was wandering around pretty much aimlessly when he was suddenly crashed into and sent flying. Dazed, he stood and looked around him. A she-kitten was laying sprawled in the dirt, looking scared and confused. Thorn soon learned her name was Raven and asked her what she was doing. Where were her parents?
"Dead," she had told him simply, and he'd asked her if she'd like to share his. After all, they might let up a little with another kit to look after. Raven agreed without hesitation and they returned to Mudpaw's parents, who scolded him fiercely for running off.
After a couple moons of living with Raven, Mudpaw learned that the she-cat was strongly opinionated, bossy, and didn't like him having a say in anything. He quickly became withdrawn and formed a habit of not speaking. He doesn't blame Raven, though. He says if he was meant to be more vocal, he would be.
Both Mudpaw and Raven were still pretty young when the Clans showed up, but they were old enough to join as apprentices. Raven was so excited she joined without hesitation. It was all new to Mudpaw, and he thought maybe living with more cats his age would help him come out of his shell a little. Sparrow and Brick didn't want to lose them like they did Mudpaw's other siblings, so they decided to follow and join them in PineClan. Mudpaw's name was changed from Thorn, and Raven just took on the suffix -paw. Sparrow became Sparrowpelt and Brick's name was changed to Dustfoot.
