OOC: We're in a badness contest,(x3) though the only thing I would point out about yours is that it is indeed short, but so are some of mine. Stormclaw After he buried the rabbit, the bluish warrior checked the position of the sun. It had only moved about a clawlength, so there was still time to hunt another piece of prey or so. He padded in a slightly different direction from the one he had been going, and spied a movement in the tall grass. He dropped into a hunting crouch, and sniffed the air. Grass, clover, thistles, flowers..sparrow? Was that what he'd seen? Making the most of the tallest thistles and small shrubs to disguise his approach, he crept towards the rather tall patch of grass. Yes, it was indeed a sparrow, hopping obliviously about in the dirt two foxtails away. He bunched muscles together, then sprang nearly silently into the air, only faintly brushing a small piece of grass which went unnoticed by said sparrow. The brown avian never had a prayer as the MeadowClan warrior killed it with one swipe of his paw. Satisfied with his catches, Stormclaw began to make his way back to dig up the rabbit and head for the meeting place. Palepaw What a stupid mouse-brain, thought Palepaw. He could've just left at that, and she wouldn't be mad, wouldn't want to go after him and rake his ears until he stopped making snide comments. But no, due to his obvious bright spark mind, he had to say something else. She drawled coldly, "Of course I know where it is, Rabbitstep. Why, if I weren't mistaken, I'd say you didn't know yourself and were concealing it by asking me." Even though she knew the overly serious warrior was most liekly about to deliver a spitting retort, she couldn't help but feel a bit of satisfaction for her quick comeback.

ooc; Next time I take this long hit me with a fish, alright? x3
"Of course I know where it is, Rabbitstep. Why, if I weren't mistaken, I'd say you didn't know yourself and were concealing it by asking me."
Rabbitstep's temper flared again as his pelt began to bristle at the she-cat's words. He didn't mean it to be insulting in anyway; the tom was just making sure she did know. But no. Palepaw just had to say something. He swung his head around and glared at her, opening his mouth to say some stern words to the apprentice, but only a sigh came out. Turning his head back, he started to pad back. "Maybe I don't know."
Before he could take another paw step, a rabbit, who had obviously strayed from the Moor land, was hopping along. Even if Rabbitstep had been born in a forest, seasons of practice had made him a expert rabbit catcher. He dashed toward the rabbit; gait run having a sight bounce to it. The rabbit shot off, but the trees made it hard to run and slowed the rabbit down. By the time the Rabbit made it past three trees, Rabbitstep leaped on it, ending it's scream with a bite to the neck. Turning toward Palepaw, he called, "Better catch some prey, I'm sure Stormclaw is waiting for us.

OOC: hit you with a fish? No, I will feed you lots of chocolate to make you guilty, oh moderator. X3 Palepaw Palepaw puffed up with satisfaction at the thought that she'd beaten Rabbitstep in their verbal battle, but quickly sobered as the MeadowClan tom reminded her they needed to catch prey. She gave her fellow Clanmate a brisk nod ."You're quite right, Rabbitstep, thank you for reminding me." Now that he was acting civil, she could be nice to him. As for prey....the spotted apprentice opened her jaws and quietly padded further into the trees. Ears pricked, the spotted MeadowClanner carefully stepped around a dry leaf as she tried to keep her senses alert for prey. A flash of light brown fur in bramble bush caught her eye a few pawsteps later. Vole, she decided, from the scent coming to her slightly open jaws. She checked the position of the sun. Palepaw knew that the vole was likely the only piece of prey she'd have time to catch, so she'd better get going. Dropping into the lowest hunting position she could, Palepaw flattened her ears and lowered her head, trying to minimize her figure. The small rodent seemed oblivious. As the she-cat could see as she crept closer, it appeared to be snuffling in the dirt. The light-colored apprentice silently cursed as she realized she might have to get her fur pricked. Luckily, the vole wasn't moving. Perhaps she could simply swipe at it from outside the thorny tangle. A few seconds later, she did just that. Tensing her right foreleg, she plunged it into the dense tangle and managed to snag the vole, ending its life quickly. Carefully withdrawing her leg, she was happy to see she'd only gotten one small pricker in it. Plucking out the pricker with her teeth, she then picked up the vole with her mouth and began to pad at a decent pace back to the meeting spot. I knowz it's bad. Forgive meh. Stormclaw Once he got to the spot where he'd made his first catch, the Russian Blue dug up the rabbit he'd caught earlier. Though he now encountered a problem...how to carry both pieces of prey? He found a sound, if slightly uncomfortable, solution. Carefully tucking the sparrow under his chin, he adeptly held the posture while bending down again to grab the rabbit in his jaws. Some of the tan-furred animal's fur brushed his nose, and he fought the desire to sneeze. Concentrating on holding the fresh-kill he'd caught, the MeadowClan tom padded slowly back to the meeting place. When he got there, the sun had nearly moved its full length. Palepaw and Rabbitstep should be here soon, he thought. He curled his tail around his paws to keep out the fast-growing chill in the air, and waited.

Lynxstorm strode purposefully through the forest, despite the fact that he lacked all purpose. The only reason for the large, fluffy grey-brown warrior's presence in the woods was that the camp was far too busy right now, and he wished to get some thinking in. Lynxstorm had no intention of stopping, his earliest memories were of walking, and as most of his kit-hood and apprentice-hood had been spent walking and thinking on the journey he had long ago lost any inability to thing and move at the same time. Granted, thinking and moving required a higher level of consciousness of the world around him than a true Lynxstorm-style space-out, but the painfully young warrior had found that this was often a benefit rather than a detriment. So the brilliant, eccentric, and anti-social cat traipsed through the woods, a cocky, self-assured flick in his step, and his inordinately fluffy and perpetually shedding tail curled haughtily over his back. Lynxstorm's bright green-yellow eyes were trained in front of him, and the intense gaze lacked focus, his paws leading them where they would.

ooc; Sorry I haven't replied, life's been kinda crazy. x3
Rabbitstep just nodded as Palepaw thanked him. He picked up the rabbit he caught, raising his head just in time to see Palepaw get a piece of prey of her own. As he bounded forward to catch up to her, a new sent hit his nose.
MeadowClan cat.
Rabbitstep took another sniff, trying to ignore the strong rabbit in his jaws, and he realized it was Lynxstorm. "Wuate." The tabby mumbled through the rabbit, not even sure if Palepaw could understand him. Spitting out the rabbit, Rabbitstep turned to the direction that Lynxstorm's sent was coming from. "You there, Lynxstorm?"

Palepaw
The MeadowClanner apprentice didn't get any further than three pawsteps before she heard Rabbitstep's muttered request, wait it sounded like. Lynxstorm? Was he there? She turned her light-furred head to see the long-furred young warrior. She wondered if he'd like to hunt briefly before they went back, and maybe come with them. Putting down her vole, she looked back at him and said, "Hello, Lynxstorm. Would you like to hunt with us for a bit before we go back?" Surely Stormclaw wouldn't mind if they were late if they brought back more prey. Wait...was that a moth? Palepaw itched to bat at it, but remembered the reprimanding look Rabbitstep had given her earlier.
Stormclaw
Where were they? He wanted to go look for them, but he didn't want to have to bury his prey and then just dig them up again. He could risk leaving them out in the open, but...making a choice, he figured he would not be long. Leaving his catch, he padded off in the direction his Clanmates had gone.

Lynxstorm's intense green gaze turned it's sardonic power upon Palepaw. In no mood to be stopped (especially considering he'd just realized that light was most likely not the opposite of dark-and intriguing possibility), the brown-grey warrior went with the blunt approach. "Actually, Palepaw, I cannot say that 'tis my wish to join you. I would far rather continue along my current chain of action." Well, it was her mistake for asking if I "wanted" too Lynxstorm thought, feeling only the slightest twinge of remorse at being so blunt to the distractible young apprentice. Youth was something to be banished as quickly as possible, if the young warrior had his say in things, and he had no wish to spend any time with his clanmates. He felt no loyalty or comradeship in their presence, he only wished the continued existence of his lifestyle-which required the survival of MeadowClan.

ooc; Lynxstorm sounds like the life of the party, Hay. x3
Rabbitstep's yellow-green gaze made it's way at the sun, far past where it was when he and Palepaw had set out to find prey.
A rabbit and a vole.
Honestly, was that really all they got?
Rabbitstep sighed, but soon realized that Lynxstorm and Palepaw were meowing to each other about something. Shaking his fur, he let out a little ahem. "Stormclaw must be getting tired of waiting for us, Palepaw. We should get going."
ooc; wow i fail. D:

OOC: FAIL CONTEST. Palepaw She didn't mind the idea of dawdling(sp?) a bit, but since Lynxstorm had refused it was of little use to hang around, and it was getting colder by the minute. Being back in camp in a warm den had an appeal. And besides, Rabbitstep did have somewhat of a point. She supposed even Stormclaw would get rather annoyed if he was left waiting for too long. Wait...what was that gray patch in the corner a little ways off, coming closer? Was it him? Yessirree, a sniff of the evening air comfirmed it was. She shifted position slightly, and called out, "Hi, Stormclaw! Sorry we took so long! We each have a piece of prey, though, which is good." Palepaw smiled slightly at herself. Of course it was good, why would it not be? You silly apprentice, she thought, ten moons old and you still act like a newborn sometimes. Ah well. Stormclaw It wasn't long after he started walking that Palepaw noticed him and called out. He felt relieved that at least they both seemed all right and both had prey. Perhaps they could even offer Dappledflower the best pieces when they got back, it would be an honorable thing to do, and it was part of the code. He sent a fervent thanks to StarClan that they had a good catch tonight. But was that another warrior, near Palepaw? Ah yes, Lynxstorm, he smelled. Well, he couldn't really spare much time to talk to the young warrior as his main priority was to get the prey back. "Splendid, dear Palepaw. Now if you and Rabbitstep could come this way, I'll wait for you then pick up my catches quickly, and we'll go back to camp, hmm? Greetings, Lynxstorm, I'm sorry we can't stay, though you're welcome to come back with us if you like." He added the last sentence for the sake of politeness, as he didn't particularly care if Lynxstorm came with them or not. The Russian Blue then sat and waited in anticipation for two of his Clanmates.

ooc: I-have-nothing-to-add-to-this-roleplay-anymore-fail?
ic: "I'm quite alright where I am, thank you. Good day now."Lynxstorm mewed briskly, and turned to leave, swishing his long tail behind him with a jaunty swing that followed his body's movement. He had nothing to add to this roleplay excursion, and even if he had had something to add he probably wouldn't have stayed. Lynxstorm had things to do, goals to accomplish, and no silly warrior duties would stand in his way!
