ooc; Rabbitstep must like ZZ Top, because their songs played while I wrote this in my notebook. 8D
Oh, and free free to hit me with that fish. :c
"I'm quite alright where I am, thank you. Good day now."
Rabbitstep blinked, yellow-green eyes watching Lynxstorm as the tom swished (/becomingtheerins) off. He shrugged, then turned quickly back to Palepaw and the now approaching Stormclaw, throwing a good bye from his shoulder as he did so.
"Hello, Stormclaw," he meowed, unable to say anymore as Palepaw shared a greeting and told her not mentor about their catches herself. The apprentice was starting to grow on him a little, even if she still acted like a kit at times. For a moment he wondered what it was like having an apprentice, which drifted slowly to thoughts of when he was going to get one. Rabbitstep's aimless thoughts disappeared with Stormclaw's meow of his own, telling them about his own catches and heading back to camp. The light brown tabby's head nodded, and bent down to grab his prey, realizing that Rabbitstep caught a rabbit.
Well...he found it funny.
He flicked his tail in signal for Palepaw to follow and began to pad forward quickly before the apprentice could snap at him for it.
ooc; I want Rabbitstep to have an apprentice. D:

Stormclaw
"Good evening, Rabbitstep." He nodded once, looking over Palepaw as well, turned and began to pad at a fast pace to back where he'd left his prey. Surely StarClan would protect it for him for that short time, he thought, and it would disgrace him if he came to camp empty-pawed. Indeed, when he got back the prey was just as he left it, with only a solitary fly that buzzed away when he came close. He picked up the dead animals the same way he had before, trying to ignore a small itch on the side of his head. He started to slowly pad in the direction of camp, the dropping temperature making him wince slightly. His green eyes shone in the twilight as he went forward. The bluish MeadowClan warrior's progress would be slower than the others...perhaps he should signal to the cats who were keeping pace with him to go ahead if they liked. After all, the clan was depending on them and it would be a blight on his honor if they brought back prey only for no one to eat it because it was too late. Speaking of which...he was getting pretty hungry himself.
Palepaw
The apprentice's pelt was distinctive against the fast-fading light. She eagerly picked up her small piece of fresh-kill and followed the now moving tabby warrior. The spotted apprentice hadn't needed a signal to move, but she was so excited about getting home that she didn't want to waste time being annoyed at Rabbitstep. Wow! Palepaw couldn't help glancing upwards at the darkening sky, with all its colors. So pretty, thought Palepaw. Why can't the sky always look like that? Well, blue is nice too, I must admit....she noticed she was lagging behind. A look forwards and with a jolt she realized Stormclaw was already pciking up his prey and Rabbitstep was next to him. She'd be sure to hear a sharp remark if she lagged behind. She suddenly broke into a run, muscles working to speed her across the meadow. Palepaw enjoyed her short exhiliration before she came to a stop and resumed her normal pace next to the gray warrior, who was moving slowly because of the two animals he was carrying. The she-cat didn't mind going slowly now. They were sure to reach camp soon anyway.
