The calico almost rolled her eyes when her apprentice showed up beside her, bouncing like a kit until he stopped in front of her. Why could he never show this kind of enthusiasm when they were actually working, for StarClan's sake? Ridiculous tom. Must be all that blasted energy.
In an amused tone of voice, she answered, "The hollow, remember? Even if there are puddles there, it will add an element sometimes found in battles."
When she was done speaking, the medicine cat shot forward, running through the forest as she hadn't in a long time. She panted quickly, but kept on going and after a little bit settled into the remembered rhythm of pacing and going, pacing and going. She was a cat, after all, not some dumb Twoleg. Though she may not be as fit as a warrior, she would never completely fall out of shape like her fat, useless sister.
She arrived at its entrance tired but pleased, and fired up for battle. The run had been a good choice: though she had a bit less energy now, she was also more alert and exercised. Her senses would be sharper.
While she waited for her apprentice, the medicine cat pondered why snow fell from the clouds. Were clouds made of water? It would make sense, after all...they could pour down any kind of weather, from hail to rain, but it was always some kind of water, for ice and snow were essentially water too, once they melted. Though that left the question of why clouds ever came back to earth at all. Where did they come from, anyway?
