Ashstorm
The quick exertion had worsened her side that had been getting better. Ugh. Panting slightly as she raced ahead of Jaynose, she tiredly padded into camp, fish drooping from her mouth.
Stumbling over to the fresh-kill pile, she let the scaly animal flop from her jaws onto the ground. The gray PineClanner rotated her jaw a bit, letting her muscles recover a bit from the strain of carrying the big thing.
Now. Who should they tell?
Gingerstar, she answered herself a second later. Duh.
Where was the green-eyed leader...
Oh! Sitting over there washing herself, it appeared. It wouldn't be good to interrupt her...but she had to.
Walking over as fast as Ashstorm could, she hoped Jaynose didn't think she was being rude.
"Gingerstar...Jaynose's vole got stolen...we wanted to come back and tell you..maybe try to catch the culprit..."
She sat down, tail twitching and her side stinging.
Loki
My, my, my! This was quite an exciting day, yessirree! Finally the Siamese had worked up the courage to go where no charmer had gone before! That he knew of. But even so, none could be so great or as cunning or as romantic as he!
It was such an opportunity! All those adorable toms 'n' she-cats, all together in one big group just jam-packed with chances for everything! Who knew what could happen?
This kind of thinking had led him to where he was now.
Huddling in a bush around where all those lovely kitties he could flirt with lived.
It had all started with a vole...Loki had been hungry, and had been in a lazy mood. Besides, the glassy-eyed thing had just been lying there. Who cared if he snapped it up? There probably plenty to go around.
But then some little gray cat had sounded all hurt when he'd talked to another gray cat that his vole was gone...oh, he could suck it up. The lanky tom had gone through much worse.
Purely out of curiosity (and cunning) he had decided to follow the pair when they decided to go back to their "camp", they called it. And now he knew where they lived!
"Camp" was a funny word.
His wide blue eyes watched through leaves as the she-cat of the two went up to a beautiful ginger she-cat and started mewing urgently to her. Hmmm...she seemed to be reporting his theft.
It was tempting just to walk out and hang the consequences..he was sure they wouldn't kill him, though. And even if they wanted to he could escape. He'd wait just a bit longer, trying to find just the right moment.
