Jaynose looked at what Ashstorm did to the leaf. She tore it into pieces, with glad. Jaynose purred, and lovingly head-butted her. He sat next to her, and pulled another piece. The kits can wait.
"Ya' like it?" Jaynose mewed, as he pawed the leaf toward Ashstorm. "I knew it would be a good solution..."
He was so happy. It felt good to cheer up a cat. Joy buzzed through his body. He should try doing this more often. He pulled the last leaf and lifted it with his teeth. He let it dangle, and clawed the plant.
Barktail, I wish you could see this.

The small-bodied cat purred. It was a rare thing, to be this happy. And after such an incident, too. But the fact that Jaynose listened - helped, even - and was just friendly and caring meant a lot to her, even if he did such simple things as talk and give her leaves to shred. He was a good friend.
It scared her a little, though, the savage way she'd torn up the leaf. Was she really that angry? True, the gray PineClanner, was aware of her temper erupted at times...but this was something new. It was like...a desire for violence. And Ashstorm feared becoming a cat who wanted such a thing.
But it did help...for some bizarre reason, she felt she was channeling all her rage and ill will into the leaf. She imagined that if it were a cat, it would be just like Barktail and it'd have his face and-
Scccruuuucchhh! Chk!
And the thing was in pieces. The faintly striped she-cat looked down in embarrassment, tail low and twitching, hoping she didn't seem like some vicious lunatic. She was not her attacker.
Speaking softly, she mewed,
"Thank you, Jaynose. I hope you know how much this means to me. Thank you for being my friend."
She looked away now, embarrassed. It wasn't like her to say such a thing to any of her Clanmates. It reminded her of the times she'd spent with Miles, watching the sun set...
The tabby sighed. How emotional she was getting.
Looking at him now and speaking in her normal, brisk tone, she said,
"So, what shall we do now? I think I'm going to take my prey home; it's getting late. If you have some, I'll wait for you to fetch it and we'll go back together."

Jaynose purred. The word friend rung in his ears. He never really had a friend, and it felt wonderful.
"Well.. Thank you for being my friend." He mewed.
He wrapped his tail around his paws, and purred. He looked up as Ashstorm asked the question.
"Yes.. I caught something. I will go and get it. I will be right back."
He jumped to get the prey, but saw something that caught his eyes. It was a bright colored bird, and it was awfully fat. It's movement seemed slow too. He got into a hunters position, and slowly crept toward the bird. He gracefully jumped, and the bird landed under his paws. He quickly killed it off, and carried it in his mouth. He trotted toward the small rodent, with tail high in the air. As soon as he noticed the same surroundings where he caught the vole, he followed the amazing scent of fresh-kill. Except it was mixed with a scent of a cat. He sniffed again. There was only a faint smell of the vole. It was gone!
With bird in his jaws, he darted toward Ashstorm.
"The vole I caught is gone! The scent is also mixed with some cat... Can you come and see?

OOC: Iss fine. You know the recommended 200 or around 200 word limit, right?
After Jaynose had left, she'd mewed softly, "You're welcome." It felt almost strange, having what felt like a close friendship with a cat since..never, really. The only cat she'd ever known well was her father, who had very kind to her, but who was a parental figure, not a friend. No, as the only one of her litter, she'd hardly even met other cats of her age until she'd come to PineClan.
Thank earth she was here. True, she only'd hadn't been concerned about friendship at first...but now she found she was glad that, even though it was horrible to have happened, she felt almost grateful that Barktail had hurt her. True, her side would still ache for a bit..but she'd gained something worth it. A friend she was sure she could depend on.
Even if they sometimes disagreed, like all cats, she could remember this and forgive and forget. It was something that before she hadn't imagined she could do, but it felt possible now. Of course, this right was only reserved for Jaynose, right now. She would still hate Barktail for his unforgivable deed forever. But it was something. The gray PineClanner was interrupted from her train of thought by the urgent mew of the gray tom.
She snapped to attention, the tabby's pale green eyes wide with worry. This was bad. It could be Barktail, or worse, a rogue. But then...it was most likely a rogue. Jaynose surely would have noticed if his Clanmate had taken it, and Barktail had been headed in the other direction anyway. Of course, that no less cause for suspicion, but...
"Yes. You're sure it isn't a PineClanner, right?"
She waited for him to lead the way.
OOC: Omg I can have Loki be the one who stole it.

"Yes! I am sure. It smelled... Weird."
He remembered the scent. It wasn't bad, yet it wasn't.. Average. They would have to figure out the thief, or they would just steal more! But something itched, that told him they shouldn't look for the robber. If Jaynose and Ashstorm went looking for whoever, they would be together, but distracted by the mystery the whole day. They wouldn't be able to be bonding in the process. Maybe they shouldn't be working on the case, and they should let another pair of warriors go instead.
But maybe it would be good. They would learn to like each other, or maybe not. Anything could happen. Jaynose took a breath, and mewed:
"Let's go and tell the cats back at home.."
He trotted toward the camp, bird in jaw, without making sure Ashstorm was behind. He wanted to go, so he could start digging his claws into whoever stole the clan's food!
He stopped moving when he saw the clearing, where the camp was.
He looked back to see if she was there.

Ashstorm
She began to pad after the gray tom, not quite sure of his idea of returning to camp but following him nonetheless. True, they did need to report it to Gingerstar so she could inform the patrols to keep an eye out for signs of rogues and prey-stealing.
