OOC: Since Crow is gone and it's his turn next to post, we're going to pretend he did and The Assessment is over, I'm going to post once more as Cedar calling the mentors (which is just Crowclaw left at this point, though I'm pretending in the post that Gingerstripe told him something as well) to hear their reports, and the apprentices to come back. Sootpaw needs a new mentor anyway...
So here's Cedar:
BIC: Well, hopefully it hadn't been a total failure. Shrewpaw had messed up rather badly, but at least he'd caught the mouse. He would instruct his apprentice privately once everyone else had given their reports.
"My own apprentice is progressing normally. His technique has a few good points and many that need improvement, which is to be expected. He passed averagely for his age and skill level."
He was still waiting for Gingerstripe and Sootpaw to arrive - but hopefully they would be here soon. He was anxious to hear how his love felt of the apprentice he'd specially given her. He prayed to StarClan that she had trained him well. No, he knew she had. He had faith in his beautiful mate.
There was another question in his heart, as well. Was the apprentice Palepaw ready to gain her name? He didn't know her well, but she was ForestClan born, and he looked after his own.
"Crowclaw, what have you to say on your apprentice Palepaw? Is she worthy of gaining her warrior name?"
His apprentice was the same distance from her mentor, and almost seemed to be wary of him, from the way her gaze kept darting over to him and flitting away anxiously. Had she done something wrong, or was Palepaw merely nervous? It would make sense - this was her warrior assessment after all, and he remembered fondly how eager he had been to impress Elkstar.
And his own apprentice had done so-so - he'd made many of the same mistakes that Cedarstar himelf had made once, but those were to be expected and were easily remedied by more training.
