doppelganger It was hardly believable that Doppelganger had found them. It had been so long since he'd seen the cats of ForestClan, born anew as StreamClan, MeadowClan, PineClan, and FogClan. For a time he felt that he would go his entire life without finding them, but many prayers to StarClan seemed to lead him in the right direction and he just about fell right at their paws. The large tom cat settled into the Ranch easily, among other loners when he first arrived, but since had just taken to wandering about and doing what he pleased.
Today, he chose to lurk about FogClan, where he knew his sister had become the leader. He had no real expectations of seeing her, but he may as well run the border between FogClan and PineClan, looking for any cat that might be patrolling, a duty that he was never able to achieve. Doppelganger paused every so often, rounded ears swivelling for any sign of life that interested him. He would not hunt here, it would more than likely make him an enemy of the Clan and they would come looking for him. At least, if his sister still had the ideals of Brownstar in mind. Eventually, he just plopped himself down on his haunches and sat, waiting for someone to find him and perhaps explain to him how his sister was doing. Maybe he would even get to see her if the cats that found him saw him fit to see their leader. However, he wouldn't exactly expect any sort of politeness and formality from these cats. He knew how they worked. But if they came up aggressively, then he would also respond accordingly.
{ooc} playing this out like doppelganger has no idea of owlstar's upheaval from being the leader of fogclan. also, this is open to anyone from fogclan.

It seemed like you couldn't even go to make dirt without some cat rambling about StarClan now. Miststar's takeover had changed a lot of things, but so far, most of them hadn't been for the better. Lucky for Beaverstripe, Miststar had allowed him to go hunting alone. Now he could get away from StarClan and just enjoy FogClan's pine territory. It was a nice day if a cat didn't mind the cold. The wind was hardly blowing, so that keep the harsh chill away, and then sun was just high enough in the sky to break though the wall of pines. Beaverstripe would go find a nice rock to lay on and snooze for a while, then go snag a mouse or something and head back to FogClan. Easier said then done, because all the good sunning rocks were in the shade of a tree right now. He'd go to the border before he would turn around and head toward StreamClan's, and if that was useless He'd head through Fourtrees, between PineClan's and MeadowClan's border, and wonder around near the Ranch. It wouldn't be the first time he done this, and it wouldn't be the last. Beaverstripe opened his mouth, drinking in the scent of PineClan to see how far the border way. Among the scent of PineClan was something new, another cat. The brown tabby let out a sigh before padded toward the cat. He'd run them off so some other FogClan cat wouldn't snap at him for not doing it. Turned out the cat was just sitting there, looking around for who knows what. Okay then. Beaverstripe made his way over to the tom, eye brow raised. "Can I help you?"

doppelganger Doppelganger turned his head at just the right moment to see a brown tom approaching him. He made no move to stand or even acknowledge the Clan cat that was walking toward him from within FogClan's territory. If he wasn't in a fighting mood, maybe he would be willing to answer a few questions that he had about his sister. The only real movement that Doppelganger made was to straighten his shoulders and twine his tail around his wide paws.
As the cat was finally at a comfortable distance, he stopped and asked a question. "Can I help you?" Doppelganger just blinked at him. "Perhaps." He said simply, kneading the grass with his claws.

Beaverstripe's eyebrows raised at the simple answer. If you would call it an answer. He was looking for a yes or no, maybe even an attack, but a perhaps wasn't anything he could go by. He'd just have to come up with is own answer, then. This cat didn't want to give a straight one, after all. "Well, since you're so unsure, I'll just be heading out then." Beaverstripe turned on and started padding toward StreamClan's border. Hopefully, there would be some sunning rocks there he could use to have a nice little nap, before Miststar decided to have some group praying session in the name of StarClan. ...Speaking of the Clan. He should chase this loner out, like he was supposed too. Eh, he'd do it later.

doppelganger Doppelganger straightened just a little bit, his tail twining around his paws. His yellow eyes watched the brown tom move away dismissively. This was why he disliked Clan cats so much. All they did was think about themselves and wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible. His ears flickered and then he answered. "I said 'perhaps' because it really depends on you as to whether you can help me or not. But if you're that lazy, I can wait here for a more helpful cat." He shifted his shoulders and then fixed his eyes toward the inner parts of FogClan territory. However, he also couldn't help but notice the other tom move toward another Clan's territory. Perhaps his sister hadn't changed from Brownstar's ideals and encouraged her Clan to trespass on other Clan's territories. The fur between Doppelganger's shoulder blades rose and his tail swished through the grass. "I'm sure that StreamClan appreciates a FogClan cat over-stepping the borders." He kept his eyes focused straight ahead. "Does Owlstar encourage this behavior or do you just not respect the warrior code?"
Oooh, Doppelganger, them's fightin' words. Fightin' words that might give you a clue to your only family member left.

"Have fun waiting." The words were tossed over his shoulder, right through that crooked grin of his. Beaverstripe didn't feel like arguing with some loner over something so stupid. Some other cat can help him with whatever his problem was. The tabby had better things to do like sle-- Wait, what? The brown tabby stopped and turned back to the loner, furrowing his brows and dropping the grin off his muzzle. "Owlstar doesn't encourage anything anymore." The meow came out slow. How did this loner know about Owlstar? More importantly, why would one care? She was just one cat in a Clan, doomed to die by old age of fighting, or in a fight. (She'd have the lucky chance of doing it nine times over!) Beaverstripe couldn't help but pad back to the tom.

doppelganger Doppelganger's black ears flicked backward at the warrior's statemtent. He was now extremely interested, but he kept facing FogClan territory, not showing interest in the least bit. Instead, he started a casual conversation. "Oh?" He asked, staring straight ahead. "So she just lets everyone do whatever they like for their own amusement? Sounds a lot like what Brownstar was doing in ForestClan." His voice was smooth and nonchalant as he dug deeper into this tom's knowledge. "I bet a lot of cats are upset by that..." Doppelganger shifted his shoulders as he kneaded the grass. He was so close to finding everything out, he could almost taste it.

Nightfoot
"Well...um...Owlstar doesn't lead FogClan anymore." Once the words left his lips, Nightfoot wished he could have taken them back. He hated seeming nosing or pushy...in this case he might even seem like he was following Beaverstripe! Ears falling back to his head in embarrassment, Nightfoot shyly stepped from the brush where he was hiding.
Looking at the loner, and then his clan mate, Nightfoot nervously licked his chest, covering the one white spot on his body. Yellow eyes darted left and right before he even seemed remotely calm. Breathing deeply through his nose he eyed the loner cautiously. What if he just decided to explode and attack one of them? Or, or what if he started foaming at the mouth and lost it, raging back toward the camp?!
Shaking his head in doubt, Nightfoot licked his jaws and resettled himself, twitching his tail in a nervous nature. The worst thing to cross his mind was if Miststar or one of her Council came this way...he'd lose it for sure.

Beaverstripe was getting about to snap a "Why do you care so much?" before Nightfoot decided to spill the fresh-kill pile. If he would have been a Two-leg, Beaverstripe would have smacked himself in the face with a good ol' facepalm. You don't just blurt out important information such as that. Nightfoot wouldn't last a second out in the city, that was for sure.
....Wait, when had Nightfoot come into this? Good....something, he was being followed. Beaverstripe glared at Nightfoot for a moment, then turned back to the loner. "Miststar now leads FogClan." And now we're a bunch of StarClan morons. Hurray.

doppelganger Doppelganger obviously prickled at the news. He rose to his paws, tail tip twitching furiously. His eyes darted between the other two toms and then they narrowed. Were these two messing with him because he was so interested in their leader? Or were they telling the honest-to-goodness truth? He had to believe they were telling the truth. For his sake, he had to believe. "Where is she?" He tried to ask calmly, but couldn't keep the growl out of his voice. There was a wrench in his belly as he thought about the possibilities. Was there a mutiny and they killed her? Had these two helped? His fur began to rise and his tail flicked around more. "What happened to my sister?"
