The crescent moon hovered over the meadow. A she-cat prowled within the tall grass, her ears twitching quietly. She was trying to find prey in the grass but, as of now, she found only a mouse. Sparrowpaw felt a tad discouraged.
"What is it with such little prey!? Have some of the warriors been overhunting on what little food we have here?" She growled angrily. Clawing the ground, her claws dulled. Sparrowpaw sighed and went over to a small log to sharpen, her thoughts wrapping around such little prey and the little loyalty to her clan. Shaking her head, she continued to stalk away, a faint memory entering her mind.
She blinked, one of the twolegs approaching her then the memory morphed into her escape. Then it morphed over to hearing the clans and abandoning her old name, Scooter for Sparrowpaw. She already had an idea for her warrior name: Sparrowstorm. She could see it now! Kits would beg their elders to retell her story in all clans! Her strength, her cruelty and her reign! Her reign! She would make Meadowclan the clan it was meant to be: Strong, Defensive, and just great in general! 'Sparrowstar!' they would cry, never doubting, never having a second thought. That was the cat she hoped to become.
"But that's a ways away, I have to stay down and learn. But I swear to..." She stopped, unsure what to swear onto.
"I swear to my honor that I will become the leader of Meadowclan!" She ended proudly, her body silhouetting against the moon.

As soon as Rabbitstep warned him about a small fox that had died in the meadow, Sootpaw just had to go find it. He'd never seen a fox before, and now was the perfect chance to go see one. It was dead, after all, so it wasn't like it was going to attack him or something. The moon was out, so he could see like it was the middle of the day. The only thing that bothered him was the cold of Leaf-Bare. A real Warrior wouldn't let the cold stop them. So, here Sootpaw was, trudging along the meadow trying to catch the sent of death in the cold air. So far, there was no fox, but there was something. Sparrowpaw? The scent of prey was in the air, so she wasn't looking for that fox like he was. Hunting, in the dead of night. And yowling about....being leader? The gray tabby's mouth turned into a smirk as he strolled towards Sparrowpaw. "Well, Sparrowstar, I'd love to hear what plans you have for MeadowClan." ooc; i'm starting to enjoy role playing again. <3

OOC: Where is your character bio? o.O
At the sound of his voice, Sparrowpaw spun around to see the gray tabby.
"Sootpaw! What are you doing here!?" She hissed, the back of her fur rose. She was curious as why he was here. Maybe he was sent by Rabbitstep or just came out on his own. Either way, she didn't welcome his entrance.
"What will I do when I'm leader? Ha!" She gave a sharp laugh and began to groom her head with her paw.
"Well, To start off...I'd do what any self-respecting leader would do besides getting their nine lives, their name, and appoint a deputy; make sure the other clans aren't causing trouble and get rid of all the" She drew her lips into a snarl "rouges and kittypets in our territory, hunting for sport!" She glared at Sootpaw for a moment.
"And what about you? You the son of Rabbitstep if I am correct. I wonder if your soft as some of our past deputies." She growled lowly. She wasn't sure if any of the former deputies were soft, but she wanted to torment Sootpaw. In fact, she'd rather not hear what he would do but he did bring up the topic. Besides, Sparrowstar sounded right to her, especially when he said it but she wasn't sure why.

ooc; ....its a long story.... xD"I'm just talking a midnight stroll around the meadow. Enjoying the view." Sootpaw would ask Sparrowpaw the same, but part of him didn't want to know. Besides, she didn't look to happy to see him. Some cats just needed to take a break; Why did they take everything so seriously? The tom rolled his eyes as Sparrowpaw went on about the obvious leader stuff, but went she mentioned kittypets he couldn't help but snicker. You're one to talk about kittypets, aren't you? He help back the retort, but the thought of it made his grin bigger. The grin fell off his face and was replaced by a slight snarl as Sparrowpaw called his own father soft and questioned himself. The nerve! This she-cat was just asking for a smack on the muzzle. "You wouldn't stand a change against Rabbitstep, or even me." It was a bold statement. Sootpaw wasn't the strongest cat in MeadowClan right now, but there was no way he was going to let some arrogrant she-cat tell him he was soft. "Besides, leader is a cowardly rank. All you do is sit in your den, telling other cats what to do and give them names. Big deal. Warriors are the ones who go out and hunt, fight, and everything else." Sootpaw's kneaded the ground at the thought of his Warrior name. Sootstorm? Sootclaw? What about -fang? Shrewpaw would get something like Shrewflower. Ha.

Sparrowpaw suppressed a chuckle.
"Mouse-brain, you weren't aware that your father goofed off when he was an apprentice, or is he too embarrassed to tell his son? I bet your gonna end up just like him" She taunted. She was making this up as she went, but it seemed to be getting to Sootpaw. It was what she did best, and she was doing well at it. She stretched but unsheathed her claws, just in case he went to attack.
"This is interesting, but what if he doesn't attack? What if he just leaves? She took the moment to think about it before pushing the thought away. She would force him to fight, she knew that the two had to train battling skills and her mentor, Stormclaw, wasn't doing much about it.
"If you want to prove that you haven't inherited his ability to goof off so badly, then why not fight me?" She murmured, her green eyes were sparkling mischievously. Making up lies was fun and it got right under Sootpaw's pelt as well! A double whammy but she had to prove something as well, didn't she? She had to prove that she could fight, not just only hide underneath the taunts.

"Sorry to break this to you," Sootpaw mock frowned and lowered his meow slightly, "But not everyone is as boring as you. Cats do goof off." The frown turned into a innocent smile. He always loved word-fights, but not those stupid debate type ones. The Witter-Of-The-Two-Wins one. Those type of fights were the ones worth fighting, because Sootpaw could win with them. Or well, that's what he told himself, anyway. "Besides, I guess being Rabbitstep wouldn't be all bad. Loving family respected rank blah blah blah awesome." Deputy really wasn't that bad of a rank. You still got to tell cats what to do, but you also got to go fight and patrol. Like every Clan cat should do. He almost wanted to be a deputy, if it wasn't for the fact that it lead to being leader. Maybe when all mighty Sparrowstar becomes leader, she'll make you deputy, Sootpaw thought, snorting. "Whoa wait, fight?" The gray tabby was sent crashing out of his thoughts. Fighting? Why? "But you'll get hurt, and then I'll have to drag you back to camp, and then you'll whine because you lost, and Sandstream will whine because he's gonna listen to you whine and--" His paw flicked out to knock Sparrowpaw right in between her ears. Claws sheathed, of course. He wasn't joking about the whining part.

"But not everyone is as boring as you"
Boring?! That little...! Sparrowpaw dug her claws into the ground as he mewed the words. She became enraged at her clanmates words but the cool side of her showed, despite her rage. Sheathing her claws, she calmly took the blow.
"So? What is the point of being in a well-known family or being the parent of two of deeply respected warriors mean to any cat nowadays?" She asked, scratching behind her neck with her hind leg. The sky was starting to lighten with the gentle dawn. She stretched, picked up her squirrel and walked calmly passed Sootpaw.
"I'd really suggest we'd get back before our mentors worry about us exploring where we shouldn't explore. She said smugly, she didn't honestly care about Sootpaw, but he was an interesting tom, That she had to admit.
"Maybe he thinks the same about me? Yea right, he probably thinks I'm some she-cat with a sharp tongue who doesn't care about anything except ambition."The voice inside of her whispered darkly. She pushed the thought aside and continued to walk away but more slowly, should Sootpaw have any more to say.

Sootpaw frowned when Sparrowpaw didn't really react to the blow. Come on, she wanted to fight, now she doesn't? She-cats! Never can make up their minds. Pffft, he'd never get a mate. They were more trouble then they were worth! He'd stay a free tom for his whole life! The Tom couldn't bring him down!
"It means that..." Sootpaw furrowed his brow. What did it mean? He was going to be some great Warrior too, because it was in his blood? No....there was awesome Warriors who weren't from ForestClan. So what does it mean? ...meh, he'd worry about it later.
"Pffft, who cares about them. We have to learn how to think on our anyway; mentors won't always be there to help us." Rabbitstep had told him this little jewel a while back ago when Sootpaw wouldn't stop bothering him until his father told him some awesome advice. At the time, it was stupid and useless, and Sootpaw snorted at him and left. But, what do you know, Mr. Serious Tail had a fun side. Surprise! "Soooo, shall we keep training?"
ooc; this took much too long. x.x
