Littlepaw never believed in StarClan. He still does not believe in "starry warriors". The idea is just absurd to him. Cats that die then become warriors...in the sky? If they lived in the sky how come he can't see them? He knows that other medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices in clan that believe are very close to StarClan. So if the starry warriors are so close to medicine cats why have they never shown themselves to he or his mentors? No, there is no possible way that they could be real.|C l a n|

Littlepaw, named for his small size (due to him being the runt of his litter), has very long and puffy hair that seems to never lie flat. His paws, chest, stomach, muzzle, and around his eyes are a creamy white color. The rest of his body is different shades of brown with tabby stripes. The brown fur seems to lighten up around his eyes until it changes suddenly to a very light, creamy white. His little eyes are a light green color and are very keen. Spiking out from his fur around his white muzzle are his whiskers, each one a bright white and very long for his small size. They seem to fan out from his little pink nose, like long pieces of stiff grass. Littlepaw isn't very good at blending into his surroundings, seeming as he is brown and white, with no real points of blended colors between the two different shades.
Littlepaw has a very small build. He isn't lethal and skinny, but heavily muscled and broad (though it is hard to tell this about him because he is so small to begin with). If he was the average size of an apprentice his age he would not only be more muscular than most of them but he would look it too. His paws are big for his body proportions, making him a bit clumsy at times. A small, muscular tail helps him balance (most of the time). Littlepaw isn't bothered by his size though, it makes him who he is. He is just thankful that he is not a normal apprentice for he has more trouble hunting and fighting and tends to tire faster. In a way his small size is suited just for his job, being a Medicine Cat Apprentice.

Littlepaw is a friendly soul. He is never one to have a cold shoulder toward someone or hold a grudge; he is always the one to say "sorry" first in a fight (which he rarely gets in anyways). He greets everyone in a friendly manner, no matter their beliefs or clan, and is the shoulder to cry on for all of his friends (even for those who are not). He has an immense capacity for understanding and compassion. His life experiences so far have taught him to cherish family and friends, even at such a young age he knows this. Yet, there is a lot that he doesn't know.
Littlepaw is an eager learner...sometimes, alright, only when he wants to be. This is one of the flaws of his persona. He never seems to want to sit around and learn herbs. He learns quicker by doing, and seeming as there aren't dying and sickly cats left and right in PineClan, the paws-on part of his learning is limited. Really he mustn't be scolded for such aspects of his behavior, though, he may have a thick scull but at least it is thick both ways; once he learns something he doesn't forget it. StarClan believers might call this a gift from the starry ancestors, seeing as he does not think they are real he just thinks of his memory as an inherited trait (though his mother and father were awfully forgetful, not that he knew of this).
Littlepaw, being so young, has a very bad hold on his temper. He has yet to learn how to let his irritation and anger wash away from his mind, a result of a calm and collected cat. This trait surely will be disastrous, as he will be a full Medicine Cat one day, if he does not learn to handle it. Littlepaw knows this, and he tries desperately to keep it in check for fear of loosing the one thing that means most to him, being a Medicine Cat. Yet it seems that he is still a bit too young to understand how to do this properly. It seems like to him that his anger/irritation always gets the best of him.
On that note, a good thing about Littlepaw is that he is extremely willing and loyal. He loves being a Medicine Cat Apprentice and dreams of the day when he will finally be a Medicine Cat. He strives to overcome the obsicles of his temper problem so that he can be the best healer he can be. He knows that his training is nowhere near done and accepts this. He doesn't mind being a runt, for who else gets to be a Medicine Cat Apprentice? He knows that he needs to be a good apprentice so that he can make PineClan look as strong as it is.|S k i l l s|
Littlepaw is not of Medicine Cat lineage, so he was chosen for his job because he is very good at it. He never forgets herbs, ever, and can pick out their scents almost effortlessly. He has a great memory and a spectacular sense of smell. Maybe it was these things that made him a pick for Medicine Cat Apprentice? Littlepaw is a horrible hunter and barely manages in fights. He also seems to tire faster, a result of his small size no doubt.|H i s t o r y|
Littlepaw was born in the forest to two loner parents. He was named Twig, instead of Tree (his parents' ideal name for him), because he was the runt of his litter. They found no reason to name him after a large structure, such as a tree, when he was the smallest. So instead they settled with Twig, quite an insult (thought Littlepaw never viewed it as such because he was never told that his original name was to be Tree). Littlepaw had a brother, Badger, and a sister, Rose. His parents were kind enough cats to look past Littlepaw's small size and accept him for who he was. He was not treated differently than his siblings, so his small size never really made him insecure about himself. His mother would tell him whenever he grew ashamed of his size that great things came in small proportions. This usually made him feel better.
When Littlepaw was about three moons old his brother, Badger, died of white-cough. Littlepaw was devastated; out of his brother and sister he was closer to his brother, though all of them were quite close. When Badger died it was a shock to Littlepaw's parents: their strongest, biggest son had died from white-cough. They were sure that if any of their kits were to die from such a illness it would be Littlepaw, seeing as he was the runt; but no, Badger was now gone. Littlepaw and his sister now had no leader, Badger was always the one who would come up with fun things to do and lead them fearlessly through parts of the woods (never too far away from their mother of course). I twas around this time that Littlepaw acquired a temper problem. It seemed as if the loss of his brother made his anger easier to trigger. The only one that seemed to be able to clam him down was Rose.
So on Littlepaw lived with his sister and mother (their father had decided by the time they were five moons old that he needed to take up being a loner again). Littlepaw grew, but not as fast or as much as Rose. Rose found that her brother was wonderful at remembering things. She would sit with him and test his memory of different things in various ways, it seemed like he never forgot the plants that she would show him (many of them had no name for Rose was not a Medicine Cat; he remembered their scent and where to find them). Rose was astounded at the things he could remember, when he wanted to remember them. She often would have to give up attempts at testing him when he was not set on learning.
When Littlepaw was a couple days away from turning seven moons old a tragic event hit his family: his mother had become to weak and sick to fight off green-cough. Littlepaw tried to help her with the different plants he remembered from Rose (Rose had taken it upon herself to become a rouge in a rouge group). Littlepaw didn't know what they could be used for though; some things seemed obvious, like cobwebs for bleeding and poppy seeds for pain, but other things he was afraid would hurt her instead of heal her. The only thing he gave her was poppy seeds (seeing as she had no use of cobwebs). He thought maybe she would be able to fight for her life if she was in less pain. In the end Littlepaw's mother lost the fight against white-cough and grief that her daughter had left her at such a young age.
Littlepaw was now alone. His sister had left him for a rouge group, his mother had died, Badger had died, and his father had left. Littlepaw knew how to hunt for himself, though he tired quickly from his size and he wasn't very good at catching the prey. He lived by himself, wandering, for a whole moon. He found PineClan when he was about eight moons. He was accepted into the clan by Gingerstar and after a week of being with them his skill of herbs became noticed. Duskstripe and Bluestream took him on as a Medicine Cat Apprentice, happy for the help and happy to share their knowledge of medicine. Littlepaw was overjoyed to be in a clan doing what he loved best, learning about herbs. He now can be found collecting herbs, learning about the healing nature of herbs, and learning about being the best Medicine Cat he can be.|R o l e P l a y E x a m p l e|
Littlepaw padded into camp with a mouthful of tansy. He nodded respectfully to Aspenheart, who seemed to be taking a patrol of some sort out. He then continued on toward the Medicine Cats' den, spotting Jaggedclaw and No-ears sitting outside soaking in the sunlight. He made a mental note to check both for fleas then ask either if they were in any pain of some sort. He quickened his pace as he drew closer to the den, it was always nice to return to his den after herb collecting.
He stepped inside of the den to find [Head Medicine Cat] organizing some herbs and Bluestream cleaning up the old ones. Littlepaw dropped the tansy in front of [Head Medicine Cat]'s paws. She smiled at him then meowed, "Thank you Littlepaw; please go check the elders for ticks." Littlepaw smiled at his lead mentor then meowed to her, "I was just telling myself that I was going to go do that when I was heading back here. I'll go now." He smiled at her and grabbed a wad of moss soaked with bile, after giving [Medicine Cat] a quick friendly smile, then made his way out of the den.
He found Jaggedclaw and No-ears where they were before, laying in the sun. He put down the wad of moss and bowed his head to each of them then meowed, "Would you like me to check both of you for ticks?" He waited for their consent before he moved to search them. "It's about time too. I have this one on my right shoulder, I could swear to you it is a big as a badger!" Littlepaw smiled at him then picked up the wad of moss as No-ears gave him a little wink. Littlepaw knew better than to be offended by Jaggedclaw's sharp tongue, he was always like that.
Littlepaw searched through the fur on Jaggedclaw, finding the badger-sized tick and killing it, then continued on to No-ears. When he was done he meowed to them, "Does that feel better now?" Jaggedclaw gave a little "hmph" then got up and padded into the Elder's den, giving a twitch of his tail as thanks, while No-ears smiled at Littlepaw and said to him, "Loads, thank you Littlepaw. You could be a full Medicine Cat with how well you take care of Jaggedclaw and I." Littlepaw smiled proudly then said, "Thanks No-ears; it's not a problem at all, if you or Jaggedclaw need anything just call for me." No-ears flicked his ears, acknowledging that he heard the apprentice then followed Jaggedclaw into the Elders' den.
