Name | Lightfoot
Gender | Tom
Age | 25 moons
Rank | Warrior
Clan | StreamClan
Beliefs | Lightfoot isn't completely sure what to think of StarClan. On one hand, he thinks it's a very comforting idea that there might be something after death. On the other, he isn't sure if he's seen enough proof of it to truly believe in StarClan being more than a nice concept. If he were to be contacted by StarClan personally, he'd probably be very happy to believe in them, but he'd always understand someone doubting.
Parents | Elphie (mother, loner: living) and Count (father, kittypet: status unknown)
Siblings | Blue (sister, loner: living)
Other Kin | Count has multiple siblings and other relatives, but none of them live near the Clans.
Mate | Not yet
Crush | Not yet
Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | Not yet
Appearance | Lightfoot is not the most easily camouflaged cat. His fur is nearly white, giving some suggestion as to how his warrior name came about: however, the slight speckles of cream color that fleck his lower back and stripe his forehead reveal that he is, in fact, creme in coloring. There are defined but faint stripes of color on his face and legs, but on his back the coloring is more blotchy than anything. Plain creme, then, is a more appropriate term for his coloring than creme tabby. He's just not as even in color as a breeder would like a solid-colored cat to be. His eyes are a light amber, verging on gold, and his nose and paw pads are light pink.
Short-furred and average in build, Lightfoot would be pretty average-looking if it weren't for his slightly unusual pelt color. He moves with an easy grace, and his steps are very light, giving another suggestion for where his name comes from. The tips of his ears have very small tufts on them, suggesting he might have had a fairly recent long-furred ancestor. For the most part, though, he rather well fits the description of domestic shorthair: his face is rounded but not perfectly round, his tail is perhaps a smidgen shorter than the average, and his feet are perhaps a bit on the larger side.
Personality | Still rather young for a warrior, Lightfoot tends to ignore orders and go do his own thing if rules or orders from his superiors stop him from finishing something he started. He respects his superiors in general, but finds it more important to seek the truth than to obey orders to leave a matter be. He would never truly separate himself from his Clan, but sometimes he finds acting on his own to be the only way to get things done. If Lightfoot were to be placed in a position where rules would stop him from pursuing justice, he would likely turn the position down and go solo. If he's being honestly introspective, though, he's not quite sure which drives him more - his desire to see justice done, or his own personal pride.
Though he tries his best to remain calm and impartial, Lightfoot cannot help but be a little snarky, a tendency that has grown in him with age and probably will increase further in moons to come. He tends to start conversations in a very civil and courteous manner, but if something gets him emotional in one direction or another, he tends to get carried away with his snark, up until he realizes he's sticking his foot in his mouth. At that point, he promptly becomes mortified and starts apologizing far too profusely. In addition to this, if he's nervous, Lightfoot tends to start babbling out of sheer nerves. This is especially prominent when he suspects romantic motives might be behind a conversation. He tosses around jokes about love and romance, but when faced with the real deal, he starts flailing out of a powerful yearning to just not mess things up.
When it comes to alliances with other cats, Lightfoot really shows his young age. He knows he only wants others by his side he can trust, but he occasionally has lapses of judgment, and once he's decided he can trust someone, it's a challenge to get him to realize they might not be everything they claim to be. If his trust is betrayed, Lightfoot finds it very difficult to get over the fact - more specifically, he finds it hard to stop berating himself for not being able to see the betrayal coming. He tends to be rather hard on himself, and tends to dwell over the past and become embittered about mistakes: in addition, he tends to get consumed by thoughts of revenge if they come up, and needs someone to keep him in check if he's wronged. In general, Lightfoot tends to see things in black and white, feeling it's easier to deal with extremes than it is to think around shades of gray.
Skills | Lightfoot is the type of warrior that could be characterized as a "glass cannon": he has lean strength and is extremely precise, but doesn't have much stamina and can't keep up intense fighting for a long time. He's also definitely a sprinter, not a long-distance runner, and is faster than most cats on a short distance. While hunting, he relies on the element of surprise rather than chasing after prey, and tends to prefer hunting birds for that reason. He hasn't spent a lot of time swimming, but Lightfoot does enjoy climbing, his explosive strength making him rather good at jumping.
History | Lightfoot was once named Cream, and he started life as a loner: his mother, a very young loner named Elphie, fell in love with a similarly young kittypet named Count. Elphie was a sweet she-cat, but due to her young age, she was also quite naïve, and to be honest, she wasn't the smartest cat either. She had her two kits alone in a back alley behind a fast food restaurant. Not having much imagination, she named the blue kit Blue and the cream-colored kit Cream.
Somehow, Elphie managed to bring up her two kits on her own. On occasion, she visited Count, but the tom was aware that if she was seen snooping around the twoleg dens, she might be captured. Knowing she preferred her freedom and afraid she might even be killed, Count tried to keep their visits as secret as possible. Unfortunately, no amount of secrecy could stop Count's twolegs from moving away from the neighborhood when Elphie's kits were only five moons old. The she-cat only found out several weeks later, when she came to the house to meet with Count and the tom never came.
The she-cat was devastated, and her kits were too, neither knowing what to do to cheer their mother up after she'd lost the love of her life. Blue, being a bit more timid than her brother, stayed with Elphie while Cream started to go on little excursions around the Twolegplace. His mother was in no state to watch after him, and even if she had been, she likely wouldn't have stopped her kit from wandering. On one of these treks, Cream stumbled across a group of cats travelling to find a new home. He spent a day with them, learning about why they were on their journey and finding their way of thought very interesting - but more importantly, he found hope that he and his family might have a place to stay.
Returning to his mother and sister, Cream convinced the two of them to follow him to the settling Clans. They were all welcomed into MeadowClan: Elphie was given the name Mottledtail, while Blue became Graypaw and Cream became Lightpaw. Lightpaw was very happy to be in the Clan, and was fully expecting his mother and sister to integrate with similar ease. However, when Mottledtail was attacked by a rogue during a patrol, she was spooked enough that she requested Cedarstar to let her leave the Clan and go back to the Twolegplace. Bluepaw, loyal to her mother, gave up her apprentice name as well and left, leaving Lightpaw alone in StreamClan.
Deeply hurt by his mother's departure but unable to abandon her completely, Lightpaw made a half-hearted attempt to sneak out of camp to meet with his mother and sister. It didn't take long for the apprentice to get caught and be informed in no uncertain terms that he had to choose: either go back to the Twolegplace to live with his mother and sister, or stay in StreamClan and no longer see them. After a few agonizing days of contemplation, Creampaw told Cloudstar he was choosing StreamClan.
After several moons of training, Lightpaw was given the warrior name of Lightfoot. He no longer attempted to contact Blue or Elphie, even though it pained him greatly: he knew this would drive him further away from his own flesh and blood, but he had to accept StreamClan as his family now, or risk living a life alone. Occasionally, he's run into cats - both ones that have newly joined the Clans and ones that want nothing to do with them - that bring him vague news from Twolegplace. They hint that something might be wrong with Elphie. This knowledge has disturbed Lightfoot greatly, and the urge to go look for her grows stronger by the day...
