Beliefs •
Although Batpaw had been raised by the nursery tales of StarClan, she doesn't entirely believe in it. Part of her wonders if StarClan really exists, because many parents tell their kits lies about all sorts of things. However, her family's and her Clan's strong faith makes her mostly lead to believe in everything about StarClan. She will never follow it religiously, but she will occasionally mutter things like 'thank StarClan' under her breath.
Appearance •
With striking eyes of gold, Batpaw's nature helps her maintain a level, clean composure and an ever-sleek coat. The white on her whiskers helps bring out the lighter shades of brown around her neck and ears, though not by much. Her nose is black, the parts above it fading to a dark brown mask and eventually blending into a somewhat lighter brown just around her face and her chin. Her ears, tail, and paws are all dark brown, often perceived as black, then similarly disappear into a very dark goldenrod colour.
Her full body itself is small, but inside that small space she takes up her limbs and belly are all fairly long. She has a fine layer of budding muscles beneath her sheen cloak, but they aren't as strong or big as they could be. Though Batpaw has an agile form, she mostly uses it for grace instead of something that might be a bit more useful to the Clan, such as speed in battles or silence in hunting.
Personality •
Batpaw is a bit of a diplomat. She loves to debate and loves talking -- more frequently gossip than not, but still -- and has a level head when it comes to having relaxed arguments. Insightful, she often automatically searches for the reasons to and not to do a certain thing. She also tends to notice little quirks about cats -- for example, someone usually taking a fish instead of a water vole when they eat. Tying on to that, she tries to remember things like that about them, as well as how they act when they are in certain moods. Batpaw is friendly and kind more often than not, always willing to play, gossip, or talk about just about anything.
On the other hand, Batpaw can be arrogant and a bit snobby, as well as air-headed. She doesn't really like to concentrate during battle training, simply because it's boring to her; she prefers to use her mind and language over her teeth and claws. Though it doesn't usually happen, she sometimes refuses to accept another cat's argument during a debate; some things are impossible for her to see from another cat's point of view. She enjoys being the centre of attention, just because she is, deep down, terrified of being forgotten.
Skills •
As she's hardly even become an apprentice, Batpaw doesn't have very many skills as of yet. However, she's already gaining some debating ability; though she's extremely opinionated, she has begun to learn how to phrase things in a way to make them see convincing, rather than arrogant. She's quick with her tongue and fairly witty, but whether that will turn out to be good for her or not nobody really knows. She isn't that great at tracking, but she has grace enough to match her persuasive speaking and weakness for fighting.
History •
One of the first kits to be born into StreamClan, Batpaw's parents are Spiderstorm and Ottertail. Although she wasn't always all that close to either of her parents, she quietly favours Spiderstorm due to the fact that she feels that her mother understands her better. She had a long kithood filled with suspense, mystery, and fun; always interested in Clan news, she would wait for one of her parents to explain to her the parts that she didn't understand. She was also never a good one at playing games like hide and seek with her brother; she could smell him well enough, but could never follow the trail. Aside from that, she's emotionally ready to become an apprentice, though she's still a bit undersized.
A small bit of her history that few cats know about is the time that she snuck out of camp when she was about five moons old. Deciding to leave and get a 'fresh breath of air' for once one morning, she slipped out without telling anyone and wandered about for a short period of time before trying to find her way back. It probably took her twice as long to get back as the walk itself was, but she still returned about fifteen minutes after she left. Although Spiderstorm and Ottertail had both been busy while she was gone, one of them must have noticed her absence and told the other because they were both worried about her when she got back. After they were reassured that she was okay, she started explaining why she had left very calmly -- even kits want to get out sometime, she stayed near the camp, she'd avoided unfamiliar scents, etc -- and proved that she was a debater.
A small passing, but one whose new-found knowledge would prove to shape her future forever.
i don't know how i got this way
i know it's not alright
so i'm breaking the habit
i'm breaking the habit tonight
