MeadowClan was started by Cedarstar when he left his old Clan by the name of ForestClan. The leader of ForestClan, Brownstar, had a strange look at the way Clans worked. While usually, Medicine Cats are to be well-respected and are the closest to StarClan, in ForestClan, they were always treated far worse, constantly undermined by every cat, to the point that apprentices were taught it wasn't honorable to be a Medicine Cat and they would go for periods of time without any healers. Cats were taught that there was only honor and respect to be had as a warrior, because then you had the chance to be deputy and eventually leader.
ForestClan cats were proud and fierce, though extremely volatile, beginning wars on heresay by one cat. In fact, it wasn't uncommon for a cat that was bored to kill prey and say they found another Clan's scent on it, just to stir up trouble. It was Cedarstar, who was deputy then and had been born and raised under the previous leader's views, that knew how wrong life in ForestClan was. He first started out by rallying his closest friends, Littlewhisker and Russetpelt, to his new idea of seceding and starting their own Clan. Eventually word spread and over half of ForestClan's cats that remembered the old days followed him.
However, those that believed Brownstar stayed behind.
For moons Cedarstar traveled with the cats that chose to follow him. They made their way through unfamiliar territory, losing many cats to disease, starvation, and predators. It seemed they would never find a place suitable for the clan to start anew and reconnect with their ancestors, with StarClan.
But then they found it. The few remaining cats stumbled upon what seemed to be the perfect place. There were no other clans, few twolegs, and plenty of other feral cats who they could easily recruit to join the clans they would form. After the travelers had rested, they began to speak to any rogue or loner (even kittypets) they could find, preaching the glories of the clans.
To their great surprise, many, many cats joined them, liking the idea of being united as one.
They divided the cats into four groups (because one clan with that many cats would be too much). The original plan was to have the cats from ForestClan take the position of leader for each new clan. But the ForestClan cats were much too loyal to eachother, and refused to separate. So a leader for each clan was chosen, then taught the ways by the ForestClan cats.
From then the clans began to divide up territories, picking names based on their settings. The leaders of the clans taught their new clan what the ForestClan cats taught them. Many meetings were held to clear up any questions and to reenforce the aspects of warrior life.
Now, five moons after the clans were formed, the new clan cats are getting used to the new life. Learning how to best train apprentices, guard their borders, hunt for many cats and follow the Warrior Code. Most of the cats have even taken a belief in StarClan. Medicine cats have already made the trip to the place where they meet StarClan and leaders- most of them- have been given their nine lives.
But clan life is still rocky. With all the sudden adjustments, many cats are unsure about how they act withing the clan. Many are also developing hostile feelings towards other clans, becoming more ambitious and testing the limits of the warrior code. How will things turn out? In the end, will the clans break apart into the rogues they once were, leaving the old ForestClan cats to once again, travel until they find a new home? Or will the cats realize that this oppurtunity is the best for them, and strive to uphold the code and will of StarClan as best they can?
