Daystorm was walking around with the breeze ever-so-slightly ruffling through her fur and the trees swaying silently, without a care in the world. She closed her eyes briefly in content, and drew in a wisp of breath. The air smelt of flowers and the musical taste of freshly-caught prey, making a small droplet escape from her mouth delicately.
She opened her eyes again and gathered herself up to pad forward into the dark strand of trees, which were ominously calling her through.
She turned her head occasionally to look behind, getting a sudden fierce, sharp chill of cold dread, that somehow told her she was being watched.
She walked all the way up to the whisker-long border, stared pout at the bright lushness and yawned loudly, quickly shooting a glance back wards to snarl, baring her teeth threateningly to the shape that moved around in the shadows behind her.
Her normally sweet nature was then turn red into a viscous sweep of rage, the kind face of hers had suddenly twisted into a knot of anger and hatred for her attacker and trespasser.
She then darted toward it, with a loud and erupting screech, before colliding into it with a great and traitorous thud, feeling her teeth rip into tough flesh and tear mercilessly sideways, to bite it's ear clean off.
Her enemy was a badger.
It's huge roar sounded around the whole forest and made her ears feel a sharp pain, as it's glare fixed on her and it loudly screeched again.
But, as it darted again, this time she was ready, and it's head collided with a gnarled tree stump, making it fall off balance and wobble around in a dizzy dance-like posture.
She once again bared her fangs and grabbed a long, entwining vine in her jaw, then spun around the badger, wrapping it up in the rope.
Once there was no more of it Left, she tugged it hard, making the badger crash down onto the floor, sprawled and confused.
It clawed through the vine with scared eyes and dashed to the exit of the territory, yipping when she gave it one last warning bite.
She watched it run off with a cold stare that seemed to be icy and harsh.
It was not until she had lost sight of it when she turned around, and got back to strolling through the grass.
Her whole body hurt from the ferocious fight, and she winced as one of her cuts stung like fire.
She sat down to briefly lick all of her wounds clean and then set off into the trees once more.
*******
Daystorm searched around for any signs of scattering, clumsy prey, and licked her chops triumphantly as she saw a mouse carelessly nibbling on a piece of acorn seed not too far away.
She crouched down to half of her own size and stalked it, veering off of her own path to get a good glimpse of it's face.
If it's nose would twitch, that would be a sign that it knows she is there. If it's eyes turn diluted, that means it would suddenly scurry back to shelter.
She opened her mouth, ready to spring, while very carefully placing her feet on random parts of the ground that weren't covered in any leafy substance.
She slightly wiggled her rear, then shot forward with the swiftness of Leapordclan, the power of Lionclan and the slyness of Tigerclan.
She felt her claws dig into squishy meat, which signaled her kill.
She dropped down proudly, and picked the limp body up in between her maw, and carried it into a small hole she had dug beforehand.
As she scraped the dirt over the dead body, her eye twinged and she caught the faint shadow of another enemy that was waiting to strike.
Two in one day! This would be interesting...
Her joyful personality had finally blossomed through, and she playfully batted the air, in a half-threatening stance that mocked the attacker.
The low grumble of the shadowy beast told her that the badger was back again, and willing to fight.
It must have forgotten about it's embarrassing escapade.....she thought in realization, gritting her teeth and grinding them to make a straining sound that filled the monstrous badger's ears.
It's recognizable roar of anger slipped out of it's slobbering mouth, and she darted side-ways to evade the attack, then met it head-on with claws outstretched, and a battle-cry of her own.
The two were a tangled knot of crusted blood and flying fur, with the badger being the much larger counterpart.
It's terribly dirty fangs sunk through her shoulder, penetrating her muscle and twisting it out of place.
Her shocked caterwaul was followed up by an icy screech of pain, and she squirmed on the ground, watching the badger lumber in front of her with a lolling tongue.
But she couldn't give up yet, not after she remembered about the sad story of Shroudpaw, the cat who was apparently told she couldn't become a warrior after a badger attacked her, and the cat who was killed by one of her own clanmates.
She gave the badger a tense, fiery look, and managed to slide down a small slope, and creep into a tiny crevice, that could only hold her.
She winced as the badger's angry snarls made the crumbled pebbles shake beside her, and she gasped deeply as her shoulder bled heavily.
She crawled deeper into the small cave, and lied down to catch her breath before biting onto a sharp stick that must have gotten taken into the cave by a squirrel or a rabbit.
She stumbled quickly to the entrance and poked the badger's ribs, feeling the satisfying jerk of a torn and tender limb.
The badger once again bellowed in fright and made for the forest.
She sighed in relief and suddenly felt herself getting sleepy.....she closed her eyes and felt the whispering wind wave wondrously into her fur as she fainted.
YAAAAAAY
