Appearance|
To start things off, Smokestripe is a lean, but short-haired classic, silver and black tabby and has sharp, golden-yellow eyes-- swirls and seemingly blotches of black decorating his sides and flank; his back entirely black, save except a small "grease stain" of white on the middle of his spine.
Moving upward, the back of Smokestripe's neck has "ripped collars" of black around his neck-- stopping to the front of his chest like pointing slash marks. The largest "collar" is on the mid of his collar bones, where it fully circles his neck: hence "collar". His facial markings are thin, short black stripes laying almost jaggedly on his cheeks and forehead; his muzzle a soft white, leaving his nose almost clashing against the color.
His legs are striped, mixing in and out of grey, silver, and black-- the primary color lost in the fur coordination. The insides of his legs are mostly grey and silver, with a few thin stripes here and there. His paws seem to be a fade of gray and faint black, swarming his feet in small natural trick-in-the-light shadows, and his paw-pads are a black with a hint of odd pink-- giving them a slight violet shade. Emphasis on slight.
Finally, we get to his tail-- possibly the first thing you notice about Smokestripe. Of medium length, Smokestripe's tail makes up its lack of longness with its volume-- quite honestly a "bushy to the extreme". While mostly black with a few small, dapple like splotches of grey, I leave you here to study more on the warrior known as Smokestripe.
Personality|
Smokestripe has a rather serious outlook on things: "Everything is important because it has a reason, a purpose-- you take it away and something else will fall. Like the circle of life." This is a perfect example of Smokestripe. "And when something messes with the circle, you have to remove it. If you don't, everything will fall. No matter how small it is, it will damage the circle." Smokestripe may not believe in Starclan, but he certainly believes what's happening around him could affect him and his clan.
It's almost a paranoia for Smokestripe-- but if it is, he doesn't show it. Instead, his seriousness is backed up with a frighteningly strong sense of calmness-- he wouldn't bat an eye if one of his fellow clanmates were killed, yet somehow Smokestripe keeps going on and on about the circle of life and how the clan is important; then he promptly gives this: "Everything must die at some point-- it is just the circle of life. It is meant to happen."
In some ways, it's oxymoron-- but Smokestripe doesn't think so. Along with his serious and calm nature, Smokestripe is always relaxed. Just because he's serious doesn't mean he can't relax-- or so he says. Eyes half-lidded, shoulders slouched, Smokestripe has the typical "apprentice" vibe around him-- even with the calm sense and seriousness. Smokestripe is so relaxed, a fire could be burning him alive and he wouldn't even so much as fidget. Well, not that much. But you get the point.
Though it may seem like Smokestripe doesn't care, or even seem like it, Smokestripe is ferociously loyal to his clan and would not hesitate to do what is good for Pineclan to survive the next generation.
....With any means necessary.
And, what about the clan life, you ask? Well, it's quite simple really...
Smokestripe, even when his father left him, he believes that Smokey did it to keep him safe-- though Smokestripe is in danger constantly from the other clans and their cats-- he thinks of Pineclan as his new home, keeping it as safe and well-fead as possible. And quite neatly, if Smokestripe says so himself.
Even though it is a young clan, Smokestripe has great hope and belief that Pineclan will be a strong-- maybe even stronger then the others-- clan someday.
Smokestripe looks forward to see such a future among so many fellow felines.
Speaking of fellow felines.
Smokestripe is, if anything else, quite responsive to the "Unbelievers". In fact, he couldn't be happier-- he never heard of Starclan, nor believed in it-- he wasn't going to start now, and with so many others agreeing with Smokestripe, why should he?
So, to sum it all up: Smokestripe is an oxymoronic, serious and calm cat. He's a cool cat, watching the world go by and the circle of life work it's magic.
Nothing wrong about that, right? ...Right?
Skills|
Smokestripe mostly prefers to hunt alone-- and when he does, he stalks his prey as long as possible; teaching himself to be the best stalker he can be. And until the very moment Smokestripe's target sense's him, it is then he will pounce and strike the first (and last) blow.
Tracking, stalking, and ultimately hunting is the category dear Smokestripe lays in. His intelligence is startling-- as so is his lack of fighting skills, but Smokestripe makes up for it by being quick on his feet: in battles, he will make them last as long as possible, though logically that is a bad choice on Smokestripe's part.
Smokestripe, though, because of his long-gaging stalking, he usually brings back three mice, and possibly a vole. Most of the time it's three items of food sources. Only when the clan is in (dire) need for food, will he post-pone his stalking and bring back as much prey as he can to Pineclan. Which, actually, is saying a lot.
And, to add on to his "oh-so-supreme" fighting skills (sarcasm, plz? *shot'd*), Smokestripe is unable to fight larger opponents because of his lack of battling intellect-- his intelligence lies in his hunting skills, not all-out brawling-- and, his obviously smaller size to the hulking masses of others. If anything else, I would say that Smokestripe is able to brawl against up to two slightly unexperienced apprentices.
Given time, though, the new warrior Smokestripe may have yet to show the clan what he can truly do-- and how far his abilities may lie...
History|
How should I put this? Oh, I know: DULL.
Smokestripe doesn't have a thick, juicy, history loaded background behind him-- in fact, it's a little too sweet and short. To the point were you feel the beginnings of severe boredom-- maybe there is such a thing as "Death By Boredom"...
Smokestripe was birthed as a loner in the gardens of twolegs by his kittypet mother-- to which he has no memory of-- and promptly taken away from her by his Father, Smokey, a rogue, into the wild and it's forests.
There, Smokestripe-- known as "Smoke" at the time, taking after his father's name-- he was taught how to survive; given daily lessons on stalking more then anything else. "If you want to sneak up on someone, you have to make sure they don't sneak up on you.".
And so Smoke did. Learning at a feverish pace-- hunting soon forgotten.
It was the stalking and sneaking-- the struggling of no hunting and only stealing from others, and being a shady character-- that kept Smoke alive.
After a few moons-- Smoke wasn't good at keeping track, but he estimated it was ten moons or possibly a little less-- that he had stumbled upon a group of cats: a new clan.
They gave him an offer, and Smoke bluntly refused-- he would not join Pineclan, nor any other.
Questionably, Smokey had other ideas...
"Go with them, Smoke-- learn to protect and hunt for not only yourself, but for others-- learn to be one of them." Smokey had said, gazing at the cats-- Pineclan-- with a strong sense of intensity. The look startled Smoke.
"But why?" Smoke had asked. "Why, Smokey?"
The answer was simple-- yet still cryptic.
"The circle of life, Smoke...the circle of life."
And it was there Smokey left Smoke to Pineclan, and since then, Smoke-- now Smokepaw-- was left to train and learn of the clan ways. It was a bumpy road, but after six moons of endless training-- the actual knowledge of Smokepaw's age was and still is unknown, for neither he or his father cared to keep track of it-- Smokepaw had made it as a Warrior.
A Pineclan warrior.
Smokepaw was renamed as Smokestripe-- in honor of his gray, silver, and black coat. As the estimation stands, Smokestripe could possibly-- BIG IF-- be the oldest (by one moon) apprentice to be made a warrior-- roughly at sixteen moons old. Smokestripe has only been a warrior for ONE moon since his warrior ceremony.
Perhaps, one day-- or so Smokestripe hopes-- that his father will visit him one day and Pineclan....
And be proud.
