Minnowpaw ____________
x. To say the least, Minnowpaw had learned her lesson, her last venture to the borders had rewarded her with a somewhat awkward experience. The first time she was really noticed by the above too, her clan leader Cloudstar with his apprentice Duskpaw had stumbled upon her, only to be followed up by her own mentor and deputy, Stormflower. What a day, she'd thought, but at least it hadn't been another clan. Would've been better if it had been she thought, almost sulkily, before silently reprimanding herself - what was she talking about? She'd rather have an aggressive, hostile cat meet her than her own clanmates who only wanted the best for her? She felt somewhat guilty as she padded through the forest. The response to her being so close to other clan had been mixed - a slight pride at her independence, a worry for her safety and a wariness for her apparent gain of adventure.
x. Really, it wasn't adventure she wanted, she told herself as she moved back to almost exactly where she'd been before. She still smelt the faint scent of the cats that had been there yesterday - sure enough, her own, Duskpaw's, Stormflower's and Cloudstar's. She shirked a little from it and turned, following the border the different way this time. I must be mad she thought warily, returning to the same place as she had before. She was still fascinated though, that place of different forest, only the stream acting as a fence from it, where other, mysterious cats lurked with unknown motives. She didn't know this was FogClan, nor still really just how harshly they might take her presence so close to the border. I'm not doing anything wrong she insisted to herself as she padded close to the bank, staring across at the unfamiliar territory.
x. It would be so easy to plunge into that water and swim across, rise up and wreck havoc. Completely not her though, never, ever. Still, it was a thought. As she stood to move on she felt a creeping sensation - like she was being watched, and turned anxiously to stare back again at the other side of the border - just who was over there?

Frostpaw continued on through the forest, glad to FINALLY get away from her idiotic mentor and the strange stalking loner who seemed to have taken a liking to her. Perhaps, at the boarder of her clan, she could get away with relaxing by herself for a while.
She smiled to herself as she approached the boarder, forcing herself through some thick bushes towards a spot she had claimed as her own. It overlooked the river which, being an object of some affection, was perfect for her. Frostpaw liked nothing more than to relax upon a large rock, listening to the sounds of the forest and the gushing water, preening herself as she worked her mind into a place where thoughts wouldn't reach her. Frostpaw, having been in quite a few awkward situations these past moons, was looking forward to some true time alone.
However, as she reached the bank of the river, leaping up onto her usual perch, her heart dropped. There was a cat, on the opposite side of the stream and boarder, with her eyes fixed plainly upon her. The cat was small... very small... a kit even.
Frostpaw rolled her eyes and groaned loudly. Nope... luck had cursed her. She wasn't ever going to have time to think, was she?
She couldn't just try and sneak away now, now that she'd been seen. She'd have to get rid of this little one.
"Hello, kit." She said bluntly, tone sincere. She yawned silently, "What are you doing out of the nursery?'

Minnowpaw ____________
x. Minnowpaw couldn't help it, she stared in fascination as this other, slightly older she-cat from another clan padded out and walked plainly over to the stream. She wondered for a moment if she should call out, complain, swim over or somehow chase her off. But she wasn't actually crossing the border, Minnowpaw figured, and timidly padded out from behind a rogue fern beside the water. As the other cat spotted her and fixed her eyes on Minnowpaw's small frame, Minnowpaw felt as if her blood was freezing with nerves. What if this wasn't a nice cat? What if they just wanted to cause trouble, bully Minnowpaw, even? She sucked in the air sharply, about to pluck up the courage to say something when the other cat yawned and spoke.
x. kit?! Minnowpaw thought, surprisingly indigant at the thought of her being a kit. oh foo she thought, huffing mentally a little, why does everyone always think i'm just a kit! Minnowpaw fluffed out her fur a little, trying to look imposing as she replied, trying to add a little confidence to her posture as she straightened up. "I'm not a kit, I'm an apprentice - Minnowpaw. What're you doing so close to StreamClan Territory, er, SomethingClanner!" She called, all her false bravado lost when she couldn't recognize the scent of the clan that the other apprentice - was it an apprentice? - seemed to be from.
x. This all made things worse for her though, if a warrior stumbled upon them, it'd look like some kind of, of... conspiracy! Minnowpaw suppressed a shudder at the thoughts of what trouble she'd be in if she was caught at the border yet again, I'm an idiot. she thought reluctantly, with a silent sigh.

Frostpaw was unmoved by the young cat's plight, thinking probably less of the thing than when she had first seen her. Minnowpaw's efforts at trying to seem big were laughable, they made her wrinkle her nose slightly in amusement. The ki- no, apprentice couldn't be more than 7 moons old, she was young and foolish.
Minnowpaw's questioning had no visable effect on Frostpaw. In fact, she stayed sat, calmly looking the apprentice in the eye. Her gaze was unrelenting. The little one's attempt at being imposing was too pathetic even to make her smile.
Frostpaw realised her lack of wish to answer and boredom was more a reflection of her own wish to get away. The kit wasn't dull (as far as she knew anyway) but her sheer lack of will to continue the conversation meant that unless this kit was beyond ordinary, she'd probably hate it.
Ah well, if this cat wasn't going to be intelligent conversation, she might as well make it fun. She drew herself up, giving the kit a mischievious smile.
"Oh, I like that one." She smiled, "Frostpaw of Somethingclan. It suits me well."
She winked.
"And I'm here to look at the river." She cocked her head, a look of mock confusion on her face, "What are you doing here? Spying?"
