I'm serious. This is disgusting. More than blood and protruding bones. Is this understood? To the maximum degree?
For your sake, I hope it disappoints you. Yet I doubt it.
So, as some of you know, my family has several cats. One of these - Rachel - is a calico who is very old and has a urinary disease. No, that's not the bad part. That's been that way for a while. She pees all over herself and gets her hair matted in clumps of filth. That's normal. My mother usually shaves her rear end, and it looks all ragged and nasty. That's normal.
Today.... well, a few minutes ago... mom asked me to help by holding Rachel down while she used the electronic clippers on her matted fur. And -
...
Um. I'm shaking right now. You don't need me to tell you what happened, do you?

I hope Rachel didn't get hurt... was she cut quite badly? In my mind, I'm seeing her tail... her poor tail getting dislodged... I don't even know if that's possible but poor, poor Rachel if that happened. That is disgusting. And sad.
Though I have no idea if that's what you mean. That is the image I got...

"her poor tail getting dislodged" -- Dislodged? How did you get...? No. No, that's not what I saw. I....
....
-shudders-
No, it wasn't blood.

I don't know... I have an active imagination... nevermind.
I'm just seeing your cat or yourself getting hurt... or maybe your mother, though you are the one holding the cat down. Did someone get hurt?

"Did someone get hurt?" -- No.... yes.... I don't know how to put it.
Besides just saying what I saw. But....
Ugh. I don't know.

=/ I don't want to keep prodding you for information, though god knows I'm quite curious about it. I just hope you and your cat are all right. If you want to talk about it-- and it seems like you don't-- you can PM me if you want.

"If you want to talk about it-- and it seems like you don't" --
I do. I do want to talk about it. It's just, I don't want.... I don't want you make you feel like I'm feeling.
"Did she die?" --
No. I mean, not yet. She's old. But you don't expect something like this to happen, even if the cat's old.

I don't want you make you feel like I'm feeling. --
That's so... kind of you. Of course, I'll probably regret knowing once I know-- right now I really do want to know, though. It's like closing a book before you read the last page.
So... you can tell me, if you want to.. or if you need to. And we'll just share the burden together.

"right now I really do want to know, though." --
I understand. I'm just not convinced that it's right to share this.
