Woah.
First General board made by Laur. o.o -fistpump-
So anyways, this is to discuss the acceptibility of the suffix -patch.
I am for -patch, I think it makes sense and should be allowed.
...what else do I add? Dx
Whatevs. Postplzkthx.

Apparently some people disagree.
And Crow isn't here to settle things.

As a prefix, patch makes sense. What does this kit look like? It has patches of two or three colors. Okay, Patchkit.
Does it make sense as a suffix, though? You could argue that yes, it does, because the cat still has patches. But why is the Clan just now noticing this? Also, why would the leader care how a pelt is organized any more than what color a cat's eyes are? With suffixes like whisker, claw, heart, and storm, a leader notes cats' strengths and weaknesses to use them all in a strategical fashion. But what is the use of having patches?
You could argue that fur, pelt, and stripe are the same. But they are not the same. Fur, pelt, and stripe are default options for a cat with no outstanding attributes to be noted when forming a strategy (stripes are a dominant trait for cats; tabbies are very normal). Patches, however, aren't as common as fur or stripes - unless you mean white markings, but those don't always form in patches. I'm not saying they're rare, mind you, but not as many cats have patches as fur, pelts, or stripes.
It seems like such an afterthought. If it's so important to show the world that this cat has two or more colors, that should be in the prefix.

But if it's so important that the cat has stripes, wouldn't you put that as the prefix too?
All I was really looking for was a suffix for my cat, Tinypaw. She doesn't have stripes, and no particular trait or ability. Well, no suffix for what she can do, at least. And I don't like the sound of Tinyfur and Tinypelt. I feel like -patch, though it IS different from -stripe and -pelt and -fur, it isn't different by much.

"But if it's so important that the cat has stripes, wouldn't you put that as the prefix too?" -- Of course not. Having stripes is near as common as having fur.
"it isn't different by much." -- It's different by the fact that far fewer cats have patches than stripes, pelts, or fur.
"She doesn't have stripes, and no particular trait or ability." -- Then I suggest giving her a particular trait or ability. How does she feel about being labeled as tiny? Does she rebel against it, or try to make up for it? Does she revel in it and use it to her advantage? Does she act like a delicate little damsel? A war machine? A nervous wreck? Light as the breeze?

She's a slut, per say. She has trust issues, so she is dependant on wooing the opposite cat so that they will be, in a way, "under her spell" so she can get what she wants. She uses Tiny- to her advantage, to make herself cute and cuddly. But really she is manipulative and untrustworthy to any cat but her brother.

No, because she's not really flowery. Only when she wants to be.
