Name | Denzel Darkpaw Darkstorm
Gender | Tom
Age | Nine moons
Rank | Apprentice
Clan | MeadowClan
Beliefs | Darkpaw, still being young, doesn't fully grasp the idea of a "higher power," though he understands that StarClan exists and believes that they really and truly do have an effect on the clans. As he grows, he may sway in one direction to the other, but right now, he feels that he has no choice in believing in them. He knows that they exist and has no proof that will challenge the possibility of StarClan, so he just chooses to believe that they exist and listens to stories and listens closely when leaders or medicine cats speak of messages from StarClan.
Parents | Misty (mother, NP) x Ranger (Father, NP)
Siblings | Three siblings that died soon after birth.
Other Kin | N/A
Mate | Not yet
Crush | Not yet
Kits | Not yet
Mentor | Foxflower (played by crow)
Appearance | Though Darkpaw isn't a full-grown cat quite yet, he is already huge and still growing into a gargantuan cat. His paws are wide and when he stretches them out, they're wider than an adult cat's paws. His legs are somewhat short for his body, but thick and strong, almost proportional to the extreme size of his paws. The rest of his body is stocky and muscular, though not overly broad, and obviously growing with power, rather than speed and agility. His head is somewhat long, brow slightly flowing into his short muzzle. Darkpaw is a long-haired, mask and mantle black and white cat. His fur is extremely silky and plush and grows especially thick on his tail and around his throat, which makes it appear as if he has a thick collar or mane. The differences in color is stark and obvious with absolutely no fade between the black draping over his back and the white of his chest, belly, muzzle, and legs. The only breaks in either color are on his legs, where all four have black on the backs of his legs, never quite reaching into a cuff, but a couple of them are close to wrapping around his legs entirely.
Personality | Upon first meeting him, Darkpaw is an obviously laid-back, calm, and cool cat. He is also friendly and welcoming, willing to make jokes and goof around like any other young cat. However, once he leaves the social situation, Darkpaw will immediately and easily flow into an independent and lone cat. He appears to prefer to do certain things by himself, though he will never rudely reject company (however he will always reject company). Darkpaw likes to be polite and friendly and warm, but he also keeps other cats at a distance. Of course he has friends, but they are extremely few and far-between. Darkpaw only has friends when he knows that they are trustworthy and won't do anything to hurt him. He is slow to trust, but once he does, he is a great friend, willing to do anything to help his friends and is extremely loyal to the friends that he has. However, when he is crossed by someone he thought of as a friend, he falls into a state of disbelief and can mend the relationship, but if he's been hurt bad enough, he will retreat into himself and become rather distant from the few friends that he has left. But after a period of coping and rebuilding himself, he will become his normal self.
Cats that don't know his past may see Darkpaw as a somewhat "hot and cold" individual, where he greets warmly, but otherwise would prefer to be alone when not in large social groups. However, he still carries the mental scars of his parents leaving him with MeadowClan just a few moons ago. He doesn't understand that his mother and father left him with the Clan in order to give him a better life, neither of them being very great parents. He thinks that other cats will be just as quick to leave him as his parents were.
Though he is now passed the initial pain of losing his parents and has settled into Clan life. He now knows that he wants to be a warrior and maybe, if he's lucky, deputy, though he doesn't necessarily want to be leader. He would rather be a peace-keeper than a fighter and definitely wants to help be a mediator between clans, being so laid back and calm about nearly everything that happens to him. But he also hates drama, so he tries to fix any arguments that arise. He loves to learn how to be a warrior and is extremely respectful of his mentor and other adult cats or cats of higher ranks. He does his best to listen to them, though because he is still a young cat and prone to becoming boisterous and excited while he's supposed to be focusing.
Skills | Obviously Darkpaw's size is extremely helpful, not only because of the strength that he obviously possesses, but it can also have a factor of intimidation when facing an opponent. He is also equipped with long claws and a set of long, healthy teeth which are helpful in fighting. Because of his calm, level-headed nature, it also takes a lot for him to get riled up and can be one to actually diffuse arguments between other cats and he can also be eloquent and well-spoken to mediate arguments and get cats to understand him. Though speed and agility aren't his strong points, Darkpaw can keep pace and go for long distances as long as he doesn't go too fast and push himself too hard.
History | Darkpaw was born outside of the clans to two loners, though they didn't necessarily plan for kittens as well as they should have and his mother, Misty, gave birth in late Fall, when it was getting pretty cold. She gave birth to a litter of four in a small den that she and Ranger found to be good enough. The two of them were able to keep the four kittens alive and well for a short period of time, but things quickly went down hill for three of them, which got sick and eventually died. Though by some miracle, Darkpaw was able to survive. Even taking care of the one kit through the winter was nearly too much for both Ranger and Misty on more than one occasion. Though it would have been better to just give up and support themselves individually, they couldn't do that to their only living kit that had fought so hard to survive this long. So they continued their hard work of hunting multiple times a day to keep themselves alive so Misty could produce milk and keep Darkpaw alive until the spring. Which they did. They'd somehow each made it, though Ranger and Misty were both pretty weak from struggling the whole winter, though Darkpaw was strong and healthy through their efforts.
Throughout the spring as they began to refuel themselves and regain their strength, they began discussing the life that they wanted for their son. Eventually they came to the decision that they would give their son up in order to give him an even better chance to survive than what they could give him. So they took Darkpaw on a trip when he was six moons old to a Clan that they'd heard lived nearby and were found by a patrol. After a lot of negotiating and pleading, the MeadowClan cats agreed to take their son in. Not exactly realizing that it was for good, Darkpaw was eager to spend time with the Clan cats, thinking his parents would come back to get him. But they never did. Darkpaw was upset and depressed, feeling abandoned by his parents, though they were doing it to take better care of him and give him a better life.
Three moons after his parents leaving him, Darkpaw has adapted to clan life, though he still doesn't know who he can really trust in his clan, afraid of more abandonment.
{ooc} i may have messed something up with the history. and i will add more once he gets a mentor and whatnot. [/blockquote]
