Name |
Smudge.
Ashpaw. Ashtail.
Gender | She-cat.
Age | 16 moons.
Rank | Warrior.
Clan | MeadowClan.
Beliefs |
Ever since Ashtail first heard word about the starry cat figures in the sky, she has had many mixed thoughts about them. Because of her automatically thoughtful mind, she thinks deeply into these kind of things; she ponders things that other cats wouldn't think of. Ashtail mainly believes in StarClan, but not as strongly as others. However, she sometimes has her doubts, and she tends to change her mind a lot; sometimes she wonders if there even is such thing as spirits and cats watching over her. Why she believes this way, she doesn't know herself - but her beliefs still aren't completely certain. But for the most part anyway, she does believe in StarClan, and that there is always someone watching over her.

Appearance |
Ashtail has a very small, fragile kind of build. She has a narrow-shaped muzzle leading up to small ears neatly spaced on the top of her head, and from her shoulders down she is very slender. Ashtail also has very small paws which help her to be swift, light on her feet and quiet when stalking her prey. Her tail is quite long for her small build; it is a very good skill used to control her balance, which is another thing that helps her when hunting - Ashtail has many advantages in hunting because of her body shape which helped earn her warrior name.
Her fur is a very solid shape of ash-grey, which earned her the prefix Ash-. This thick grey colour covers her entire body apart from underneath her nose, her chin and a small part of her chest - which is as white as snow. As well as this, each of her paws are dipped in white, the same bright white as the colour around her chest. Ashtail's fur is very short but in a way, fluffy; in greenleaf, it's very smooth and short, rippling when she walks. However she is at a disadvantage in leaf-bare because her fur doesn't grow very long, not long enough to keep her perfectly warm - but warm enough to survive. Her whiskers are long and white, and her nose is small and black.
The she-cat's eyes are shaped very rounded. The colour of them are a deep, solid golden; her eyes are the key to her emotions. By just one glance, it's not hard to tell what Ashtail is feeling, just by looking at her beautiful golden eyes which often are filled with whatever she is feeling.
Personality |
Ashtail is one of those cats that is very quiet and barely sociable. One of those cats who follows the crowd, hardly ever speaks her mind and does as she is told by pretty much everyone. This already proves as a disadvantage because she lets other cats take control over her very easily, by her vulnerability and the way she thinks she doesn't have a place to state her mind or tell others what to do. Her quiet side is often what her first impression gives off to other cats.
However, once a cat gets to know Ashtail, they can see much easier into her true personality that she never shows. The small cat has many different sides to her; she is very thoughtful, and thinks deeply into pretty much everything. She even has thoughts about her thoughts. Ashtail takes everything into consideration and looks carefully at situations before entering them, deciding what the positive and negative points are. Not only is she a very deep-thinker, but she also holds an incredible amount of patience and determination - especially when hunting. Her hunting skills outweigh her fighting skills because of this.
One of the most negative aspects in Ashtail's detailed personality is the fact that if her patience is driven far enough, it snaps. And when it snaps, she changes dramatically. Her sweet, quiet and shy personality melts into a harsh, snappy and impatient young she-cat. If push comes to shove, Ashtail is a very harsh, defiant cat, and she wouldn't be afraid to stand up for what she is fighting for. This is one of the sides of Ashtail that no cat wants to face.
Overall, Ashtail's personality sums up to be very secretive. It takes a lot to become close to her, because she doesn't let many cats in so easily; this makes her have a rather mysterious flare. But when she does let other cats get close to her, she opens up to them and they can see what she is truly like inside, and hear the many thoughts that run through her mind.
Skills |
The main skill of Ashtail's is her hunting. She is best at this because of her build and shape; her small legs and paws help her move silently, and her long tail keeps her evenly balanced, while her neatly-spaced sensitive ears can catch very quiet sounds. But not only her physical ability helps her with hunting - her mental patience keeps her focused, and the fact that she can keep up this patience for such a long time is helpful when she is watching her prey and waiting to strike.
However, while she is an expert in the hunting area, what she lacks is fighting skill. Because of her tiny frame, it makes her weaker; and even though she is fast, that doesn't completely help her fighting because her strength isn't too great. She is strong enough to protect herself, but not quite strong enough to fight off a bigger, more experienced cat. Although, what helps her the most when she is in battle is her deep thinking; her thoughtful mind helps her think up clever tacticts and ideas to defeat or escape her enemy.
History |
{Kit} A few nights before Rose had her kit, her mate disappeared. She never found out what happened to him, and eventually came to a conclusion that he was dead. So when her little she-kit was born, she called her Smudge - because of the white smudge of fur around her chin. Smudge grew up in a quiet and mouse-infested barn, quite far away from the Clans. Her mother taught her how to catch the mice, and she found it incredibly easy as she grew up. For moons she lived in peace, but secretly she desired adventure, and it was always noticable in her hyper happy energy as a kit.
{Eight moons} Everything changed dramatically for Smudge when she ventured around the small woodland near her barn home with her mother Rose one day. They ended up coming across a badger set; Smudge being her curious, hyper self, ventured near it. This resulted in the badger emerging itself; Smudge panicked, having been taught very little fighting skills to protect herself. Her mother Rose attacked the badger and told her to run; Smudge hid, but did not flee, hoping that her mother would just leave it. But the badger struck a death blow to Rose's head and she was dead. Horrified, Smudge ran, and never looked back. For many nights Smudge didn't know what to do. She sat mourning, looking up at the stars and wishing she could take back what happened, praying. Unconsciously, she began to travel away from the barn and the woodland. As she travelled, Smudge's personality began to change. Her hyper energetic side faded into the quiet, unsociable shy she-cat she is now. Eventually, about four nights after her mother died, Smudge stumbled across the forest in which the Clan cats had just moved in. Curious, she ventured around, and stumbled across MeadowClan. Luckily, the MeadowClan cats saw the hungry, weakened state she was in and were willing to take her in immediately.
{Apprentice} Smudge adapted to Clan life fairly quickly. She was made an apprentice, under the name of Ashpaw. This is when she first learned of StarClan and the warrior code; StarClan became a mysterious thing to her, and her opinions on them changed a lot. Eventually she wasn't even sure herself, because she thought so deeply into everything that it became a disadvantage. But, she ended up believing that there were cats watching over them all, and that spirits do exist; only, she is still unsure about the whole protection StarClan has to offer, because really, how is that posible? Slowly, she got over the devastation of Rose's death, and began to build up her more confident side as she became a little more sociable within her own Clan. As Ashpaw trained, she discovered quickly that her hunting skills heavily outweighed her fighting skills. Her small frame and slender figure didn't help with her strength, but did help with her quiet feet and quick movements. Her mentor also noticed this, and was impressed by her good hunting, but not so impressed by her lack of fighting skills. However, no matter how hard Ashpaw tried, her fighting skills never had a great deal of improvement. They were decent, and good enough for her to protect herself, but her lack of strength wasn't so helpful for her.
{Warrior} When Ashpaw was finally given her warrior name - Ashtail - at fourteen moons, she was so proud of herself. After everything that had happened in her life, she wasn't sure what to expect to happen next. But Ashtail as a young warrior of sixteen moons is still learning, and still maturing; she has many more things to go through in her life, and she can only hope for the best. Her past is behind her now, and she isn't thinking of moping around about it. Smudge is long gone, and so is Rose; and now Ashtail is a loyal warrior of MeadowClan, no matter how closed up and unsociable she may seem.

This is very good for a first cat. c:
I. "...this fiery side to her personality is very rare; it isn't common that her patience is completely lost, but it definitely can be." This takes away from the 'negative' side of her personality. Why mention how she is when her patience snaps if it hardly ever snaps? Try to avoid saying things that take away from the trait you're trying to put across. :3
II. I like how her small size actually comes up as a disadvantage. I see a lot of small cats who 'more than make up for their size with speed, agility, etc'.
III. I don't see any major issues with her history. you covered all the need-to-knows and even explained how Ashtail got to be so shy. I know our members will be more than happy to see a non-forestclan MeadowClan cat what with MeadowClan's upcoming plot (which I recommend you look into, seeing as it will be the cause for a lot of excitement). .3.
