So I was shopping at Fred Meyers today, and I was looking at belts, when this little old lady came up next to me and motioned with her finger, like she wanted to tell me something. I went over and she pulled me aside into one of the sock aisles and looked to one side and to the other side, like a secret agent.
"Can I give you some advice, honey?"
"Uh, sure."
"You stay sweet. I don't know you, but I can just tell you're sweet. And you make sure to only kiss the really handsome boys that brush their teeth. That's the way to go."
Made me smile.

I want this woman's superpowers and bravery. Although it wouldn't take much to tell that, cause you are Glowyluff the sweet and cute.

I grew up with some rather serious-faced old people, but I still love them. And my maternal grandfather has a good sense of humor

Aww, that's such a lovely old woman <3
Reminds me of my grandma. She sat me down one day and was absolutely adament that I needed to learn how to play tennis. I asked her why, and she told me that I needed to learn how to do it so I could rent out a tennis court and so I could court suitable boys. It was quite sad, I didn't want to tell her that there's no chance that'd happen these days, because it was such a cute belief XD I do love my grandma <3

Your grandma is a very punny old lady. :3 But yes, courtship is slightly out of style these days. I some respects it's sad, but I mean, really, imagine having some guy dote on you for months and months and then after you get married he'd be like "Okay, great, get to work on breakfast. And by the way, the laundry needs to be done. Hop to it, Skippy. -turns on football game- :3" Or, I guess, in your case, soccer or rugby.

my grandma is one of the funniest, most outrageous, and inspirational people i know. she and my dad. and guess where he gets it from ;D (best stories from him: some guys were surrounded his car in a parking lot when he was going home and when one came up to the window in a threatening manner, my dad whipped out a shotgun and cold-cocked him. and the other is that he was punched through a glass display case. and he didn't lose the fight xDDD)
anyway, my grandma is 93 years old, had four kids (raising them pretty much solo after my grandpa died from a stroke), flew airplanes, rode motorcycles and was set on fire. yep. you read that right. she was pumping a guy's gas when there was a belch in the tank and she got covered in gasoline, then the guy held his cigarette lighter up to her (not thinking it was gasoline she was drenched in). and she also broke a lady out of an asylum (THAT was a funny story to hear). and you know what? after everything, she's still alive and kicking. her memory isn't great after she had something happen with the salt content in her body (don't ask me how it works, but she still has crazy episodes if her salts get too low), and she has TIAs (mini-strokes) every once in a while, but if i can live to 93 and still be up and around and alert, surrounded by family, i would be ecstatic.
ANYWAY when we were younger she would give us tid-bits of advice that i don't think me, my sister, or my cousin will ever forget. i will never eat plain, granulated sugar again because she once told me that if i ate too much, then worms would come out of my ears. she also didn't like us painting our nails because the toxins would seep into our bodies and make us dumb. she also had nicknames for all of us (except my cousin sadie. she nicknamed her younger brother, but not her, strangely enough), which she still calls us. my sister is jilly bean, my cousin garick is mr. g (we've shortened it to just 'G') and i'm doodlebug otherwise known as 'dude' or 'dudie' xD
i love my grandma.

Your grandma is BADASS.
My paternal grandfather once got blown up in his own fireworks factory and lived. How's that for a story?
My maternal grandmother is one of the strictest, most boring people in existence but I love her anyway. She drives my mother NUTS because she's such a control freak. xD
