So anyway. You all can continue, or even join in. We're discussing religious beliefs. ^^

May-- when you say you believe in "all the gods" are you saying you believe in each one as an individual or do you see each one as an interpretation of the same god?

I mean that I believe in each one as an individual. The only ones I don't believe in are those that are cruel or take pleasure in tormenting their believers. Even if they do exist, I don't believe in them. Why encourage them?

"I mean that I believe in each one as an individual." --x
Do I need to point out the contradiction there, or have you prepared some rational for that?

Oh. That's a surprise, but very interesting. I'd love to hear how you developed your belief.
As for me, I'll restate that I am agnostic. As a skeptical person, I need proof to believe in a god, and to me, the bible will never be a credible source. It was written by man, not God. And if those men were truly "possessed by God" when they wrote the Bible, then... I disagree with that God on some of the things He decided to put in it.
And I do think you can have faith and be a good Christian without the bible.

"What do you mean?" --x
Taking the Judeo-Islamic-Christian God as an example, as most of my religious knowledge lies in Him, He declares that all other gods are false.
So.... you believe He exists, but is lying?
"As a skeptical person, I need proof to believe in a god," --x -laces fingers- What are your qualifications, miss?
"And I do think you can have faith and be a good Christian without the bible." --x Like the stereotypical cowboy image?
Since, you know, cowboys were illiterate and all that.
I'd also like to point out that this doesn't yet seem to be a debate.

I'd love to hear how you developed your belief. x---x I think it's simpler this way. :3 And anyway, all the religions seem to have some sort of "proof", so why not? What makes one god better than another? The thing is, I believe in gods/goddesses, but not the things they supposedly did/said. If they're gods, why bother with that kind of stuff?

So.... you believe He exists, but is lying? x---x Or it could be that He never actually said that. If you were a worshipper of a god, wouldn't you want it to seem like all other gods were false?

"And I do think you can have faith and be a good Christian without the bible." --------- Define a "good Christian" from your standpoint. The way I see it, being a "good Christian" is having a relationship with God. The Bible helps me to learn about God and, you know, have a relationship with him. It's useful to me.
