But what if the pilot is having a very depressing day and he uses the gun on his self? D:

What sort of pilot would do that? They have special training, physical and mental. They have a responsibility to their passengers, they're not gonna up and shoot themselves.
And besides, there's still the co-pilot. ;D

I think maybe not the pilot or co-pilot having a gun, but maybe in like the kitchen there could be a safe that the attendents could open and get shotguns to protect the passengers an pilots. Think about it, the terrorists would probably back them into the kitcheny thingy, they get the guns, and come up behind the terroists threatening the pilots and BAM! No more terroists.

But isn't there a lot of evidence supporting the fact that having a gun increases your chances of getting shot? ._.

"But isn't there a lot of evidence supporting the fact that having a gun increases your chances of getting shot?" -- uh... Is this a multiple choice question? I don't know. Yes?

Gun's don't kill people, pilots do ---
“And the National Rifle Association says that, "Guns don't kill people, people do,” but I think the gun helps, you know? I think it helps. I just think just standing there going, "Bang!" That's not going to kill too many people, is it? You'd have to be really dodgy on the heart to have that…”-- Eddie Izzard.
Sorry I wanted to share that. ^^
My personal view? I don't know how much a gun will help. The pilot (or co-pilot) could hit someone else, or something else. In a time of stress, aiming isn't really on someone's mind, you know?
So actually... what if a guard went on the plane with everyone else? Do they already do that? Like, have a 'plane' guard, who is actually specially trained in using the guns and handling stressful situations involving terroists and the like. You can even have more than one. Yes or no?

"what if a guard went on the plane with everyone else?" -- They'd have to pay him, that's what.
"Do they already do that?" -- -shrug- Dunno.
"Like, have a 'plane' guard, who is actually specially trained in using the guns and handling stressful situations involving terroists and the like." -- If it makes a difference, to pilots already have to (had to?) get special training before receiving a license to carry a gun onboard, which is different than the license for just having a gun (methinks).
"You can even have more than one." -- Which would entail another salary. Commercial airlines are already crunched for cash.

"Do they already do that?" xXx That's the planes with the VIP peoples. I like the idea, but they sould probably be in plain clothes, not in a uniform. Think of it as a secret services backup kinda thing.
