Thoughts?
One point I've heard is that if they wanted to kill you, they'd just crash the plane.

I'm indecisive as well.
I don't want to be all "Yes, everyone needs a gun! D< -hickface- Ya gotta protect yerself! God blezz Amurrica! -flagwave-" but I also don't want to be like "No, guns are bad! D< -hippieface- Peace, yo. -dilated eyes-"
I'm a little on the the yes side, though. But not sure.
It could help them protect the passengers...
but the pilot could also get mad and go off on someone. Okay, that's not likely.
I think I'm a tentative yes. Ha, pun.

Maybe there can be a safe in the cockpit and the other dude that isn't the main pilot only knows the combination to unlock it. : D

This is a tough one.
On one hand, if something happened, which is rare, the pilot could shoot the terrorist, problem solved. But they also could miss and hit a passenger, or have it hit like, a gas main and blow up the airplane.
Or the terrorist could steal the gun and use it.
I think that pilots should be allowed guns, but kept in a safe area in the cockpit.

I'm a gun toting Rep. If the pilot wants a gun, he should be allowed to get one, under regulations of course.
'Tis in the Constitution.

"or have it hit like, a gas main" -- o.o A gas main? In a plane? Never seen one... not one that could get shot from the cockpit, that is.
"Or the terrorist could steal the gun and use it." -- Right. So the terrorist marches up toward the cockpit, shoves past the flight attendant, opens the cockpit doors, and... people are screaming or something now, right? ...and... the pilot is just not paying attention?
"Gun's don't kill people, pilots do!" -- X3
"If the pilot wants a gun, he should be allowed to get one, under regulations of course." -- You mean go through the process and get a license and be registered and all that jazz? Yeah. That's what we're talking here. So supposing they own a gun legally, and can carry it legally, should they legally be allowed to have it while flying?

o.o A gas main? In a plane? Never seen one... not one that could get shot from the cockpit, that is. ~`~ Or like, something explosive. The fuel tank maybe. xP
...and... the pilot is just not paying attention? ~`~ Not neccesarily. If there are multiple terrorists they'd probably pull it off.
*shrugs*
should they legally be allowed to have it while flying? ~`~ If a pilot wants a gun on the plane, then I'd think they need an extra permit, with deep background checks and stuff like that.
